i watched something similar with a couple of my friends and one of them went to a vegan diet. in the video they used nail guns to kill the animals. they would also hang them from fork lifts and cut their throat and let them hang there and they would run the cows over with the fork lifts. there was also a man that punch a calf to death.

On the farm I work on the conditions are very similar, they kill pigs without pain relief or anything, sometimes pigs aren't given the medical attention they deserve and are ignored over trivial chores, sometimes pigs are killed because they are too ill to be worth the time, money, or resources, and even when they are killed it is either by being smashed over the head with a metal pole or having been picked up by their hind legs and having their head swung into a wall.

I am so outraged by this video of beating pigs and of cattle. I Refuse to eat pork/ham/red meat. Did you know most red meat causes certain cancers (colon), and can cause high blood pressure, and ecoli bacteria. Most pig farmers care about their pigs keep their farms extremely clean. They have to live and work there too. It is their family's livelihood to care for the pigs and make sure that they stay healthy. This video is not typical. BTW most of the bottles seen in farm trash cans are for vaccines, which prevent disease and reduce the use of antibiotics.

sows are in these crates for a few days to give birth. It's no different to a mother being in a hospital bed to give birth. Most sows have as much sense that they will lie down and crush their young, or even better, they eat them. The crates also have a separate compartment for the piglets at the end with heat to KEEP THEM ALIVE. Know your facts before passing judgement on a video which shows a perfectly sensible approach, and what is best for the animal in a poor and incorrect light. RETARDS.

At least in the UK, sow stalls like these have been banned and I think that pigs are no longer allowed to be kept indoors - this was all as a result of pressure but on governmental bodies to improve the animal welfare for these pigs.

Gestation crates should be banned period. There should be room for a sow to nurse and take care of her piglets. However I enjoy pork! There are so many wonderful products that come from pork! Global meat consumption is increasing! There is great demand for pork and lamb and beef now!!

Its a small time business that was indefinitely shut down because of this. Pigs that are killed for their meat are euthanized humanely.
