  • music never dies. genres never die. and who are we to say one genre is worse than the other? i think people fell smarter and "cooler" when they brag about how they hate mainstream music. cant we all just be fucking happy? last time i checked, we arent defined by what is on our ipod or how cool our favorite song is. music is supposed to make you happy or sad or chill. i dont give a shit if you like rap or mozart or jefferson airplane. just enjoy your own goddamn music and dont dis others.

  • @AKix32296 if I could rate this more than once I would.

Thank you for having a modicum of sense and tolerance. You've taken the words right out of my mouth (or would that be off of my keyboard, lol)

Just sit back, turn up the volume and enjoy!

  • @LyriumWolf i reckon youre right. and after i post that comment, a week later, people are still talking about their age and how they hate hip hop. i dont understand, mate. people are too angry for their own good.

  • @AKix32296 Seriously mate your comment should be the top comment in all youtube!

  • This is epic!! Had I known that this and the Queen song of the same name were different, I probably would have found this long ago lol

  • I'm 15 and I'm not really following the music scene nowadays very well. I have all different kinds of songs on my ipod from every decade, and the only songs I have from this generation is pretty much from bands that not many people I know have heard of :]

  • @SimplyShaded dont mind what any 1 thinks its what you like is all tht matters, feck the rest of em!!!

  • That song was in Battlefield Vietnam

  • How come when I type "Somebody To Love" in the search bar Justin Beiber's version comes up first? This version is so much better!!

  • @steelersfan7238 Because Justin Bieber is more famous now than Jefferson Airplane. I don't sponsor it but it's the truth.

  • Written by Darby Slick, made famous by Jim Carrey.

  • @4liferaphiphop i agree with the last bit ;) but the era i want is the one where people actually made and played music :D

  • @ps3faan im sorry my friend as far as im concerned they're considered to be rappers... and by they looks they look like gangsters so.. gangster rapping shit ;) the point im trying to make where is all the gd music gone.. great bands like black sabbath, janis joplin, rory gallagher, jeff healey, gary moore, eagles, allman brothers.... is what ppl should be listening to... something that is actually called music

  • @marcje123 Because of your swear words, it's not apropiate for this kind of music.

  • like this if four brothers brought you here!

  • It kills me inside that when you search for somebody to love the first 2 results are glee and Justin Beiber

  • Mother of God, there I am! Holy fuck...

  • @DanFindling. You're right, that's messed up!

  • I can't get enough of this song.

  • @avdreader1 according to wikipedia it was San Francisco

  • Does anybody know where the name Jefferson Airplane came from?

  • @avdreader1 A whole bunch of weed, that's where!

  • I'd love somebody to love.

  • @EvilAntic but where can you find somebody to love?

  • @Lookatthatshirt facebook

  • @EvilAntic then you'd better find somebody to love

  • @EvilAntic u r soooo forever alone, arent u

  • Beautiful song.Cabel Guy is good too

  • bring back this era and end this fuckin hip hop gangster shit

  • @ozzy2k11 I like both.

  • @ozzy2k11 Shove your fuckin lack of musical culture up in your ass man. Don't talk about "hip hop gangster shit" if you don't know what you're talkin' about. You moron.

  • @PunksterD it's funny because you say musical culture and then you defend the auto-tuned "music" of today that Microsoft Sam can talk with a little bit of tweaking. So if you're going to go talk and blab about "music" get off of the actual good music era's and go back to your little corner where you came out of and listen to ACTUAL music from this era and you will realize what you're missing out on. Also, your argument would have some merit if you would use some grammar...

  • @Alchomistdalt Lol, i love how narrow-minded people like you think they can judge what is music and what is not, because they're not able to accept something new. I've not said JA was some "old shit", i've said that there's a lot of good hip-hop music, and all the hip hop is not "gangster shit". And sorry for my grammar i'm french, but you can reply me in my language if you want me to write with a perfect grammar and vocabulary, will you ?

  • @PunksterD Music takes talent to be good. Oh, and by the way, you said nothing about hip hop or any specific group, you just started bashing someone who voiced the truth. I would have had no problem with what you said if you would have said that there is some good hip hop and pop; but nonetheless you didn't. Hip hop is fine, but you failed to mention anything about that so I do not take back my previous statement, but I do agree that there are a few good modern hip hop artists out.

  • @ozzy2k11 i agree

  • @ozzy2k11 Variety is the spice of life. I love Jefferson Airplane and Dr. Dre...

  • @ozzy2k11 I disagree! I think De La Soul and Jefferson Airplane go great together

  • @ozzy2k11 hiphop gangster shit??? ur fucking stupid that ended ages ago back in the 90s cuz of this shitty generation they just listen to fucking crap lil wayne and drake and nikki minaj and that aint hiphop its garbage they aint gangsta's either, people nowadays listen to crap like dubstep, grime and pop which fucking sucks.

  • @ps3faan Get out.

  • @ps3faan why do u want so much killing and acting hard..

  • @ps3faan Couldn't have said it better myself. My gf listens to that shit. I'm startin to get her into Billy Talent now, so that's at least an improvement.

  • @ozzy2k11 We all have our own genre we love some love all type of genre, there is no need to offend what others like to listen to, you must learn this...

  • @ozzy2k11

what r u stupid hip hop was in 1990-1998 and then all hip hop legends died know if u want that era back it should end this BITCH pop such as BITCH JUSTIN BIBER and others.

  • @4liferaphiphop Just to say, back then this was pop - and before that The Beatles were pop.

  • @ozzy2k11 What era are you living in, good sir? The whole "hip hop/gangster shit" ended in like 2007. It peaked in the early/mid 2000s.

Now it's all electronic music about clubs, alcohol and sex.

  • @LisaSpringfield

I agree that guy is still in 1993

  • @LisaSpringfield Isn't it always about sex?

  • @LisaSpringfield All you haters can go fellate yourselves, most electronic music takes real skill and creativity to make. Hip hop isn't dead either, there are artists doing it to this day (and no I'm not talking about god damn lil wayne). Just because it's made using synths, doesn't mean it isn't as good as anything else.

  • @cw71017 First, I'd love to fellate myself. Everyone would. So who the fuck are you kidding?

Second, we're talking about electronic music that is the mainstream (house), not underground techno or trance which require SOME skill (DJ Tiesto). Today's electronic music, or mainstream electro, is bland, empty, simply chorded and pretty much all the same.

  • @LisaSpringfield Good point, then why is it when someone says "go fuck yourself" it's taken as an offense?

I dislike the implication of it requiring "SOME" skill. You seem like a clever person, do you know what a DJ does live? He does everything a producer, engineer and musician would do on the fly. Do you realize how much skill this requires? I agree about the mainstream, but there's no reason to even mention it. The ratio of mainstream artists:creative ones falls nothing short of: fuck yeah.

  • @cw71017 Because there's an F word in it.

No offence, but I personally don't think a DJ need that much talent to be a "musician", because even kids can create something on the computer. And let's not forget, they do NOT use musical instruments. They can't even play those. So how can they be musicians? Yes, it is a skill, but not exactly talent.

Those worse than DJs are the mainstream music DJs (David Guetta) that make repeated, annoying melodies all the time.

  • @LisaSpringfield David Guetta, Dead Mouse and all that bullshit bring shame to the electro genre. DJing is an instrument by itself. It requires practice and creativity. But I'm not talking about that electro at the moment, think Radiohead, Portishead, Autechre, Boards of Canada. DJing isn't the only form of electronic music, because it's not the only instrument to use. I used to think like that a couple years back, then I got into ambient, post rock, dubstep, IDM, drone, trip hop, downbeat.

  • @cw71017 I agree about Radiohead and the genres such as; ambient, post rock and trip hop. I actually love ambient music, perfect to clear out my head. That's the only electro music I can stand. Rock mixing some electro is also a good thing.

I just cannot stand full on electro stuff like techno, rave, house and trance music. Except for disco though.

  • @LisaSpringfield I actually make ambient/drone from time to time. I can't stand that stuff either, but just because I don't like it doesn't mean the people doing it are just in it for the cash, it can be hella fun when roll facing too lol

  • @ozzy2k11 the hip hop gangster shit stopped about 3 years ago. Today is about Pop/Dubstep music.

  • @TacticalZeroCrack Real hip hop sounds a lot more like jazz and blues. The "shit" of which you speak was really just pop same as this new shit. Before you judge, seek out and listen to the genuine music in every genre.

  • @ozzy2k11 Damn right!

  • @ozzy2k11 kinda funny, I just shut an Eminem video down to go listen to this...

    I like both... Who cares?

  • @Lagoperformance

    Eminem isn't gangster shit, lol.

  • a serious man

  • I would've chopped my left nut off for this era's Grace Slick. What the fuck went wrong ladies? now you all just cry about periods and do whatever the fuck cosmo tells you to do like good little girls.

  • @spittingbloodhc Agreed!

  • @JKM8511 Agreed!

  • actors317 I heard Carrey's version a couple of weeks ago. He sounded wierd, but I thought it was very funny. Check out Bullwinkle singing Gordon Lightfoot. Funny too.

  • wish i could dwell in the 60s...how awesome was that era...fuck me

  • one thing that i hate about YouTube is that when i put "Somebody to Love" on the search bar it shows justin bieber! Well fuck him and his "music". This is MUSIC!

  • @lucas07700 -must disagree, I thought that B guy was something to be pitied. When he puts on his Jammys at night he just might have Grace and the Airplane ringing in his little head but what the hell do I know?

Oh wait a minute, what could that be, oh it's just Grace blasting out one of the best songs of all time!

  • @DanFindling type jefferson airplane first

  • @DanFindling I just want to make sure you know "Justin" also starts with a "J". I'm glad you managed to find your way to a good song in the end though

  • @amadeofan1 holy shit are you sure about the J thing ?

  • @DanFindling Justin starts with a J. That I am certain of.

  • @DanFindling If

  • @DanFindling If you were really expecting Jefferson Airplane to be more popular than Justin Bieber, then you need a reality-check.

  • @DanFindling The recommendations algorithm has clearly ever see Justin Bieber if it thinks he could ever be somebody to love.

  • @DanFindling You do realize it's because it learns from your comments, right?

  • @DanFindling Leave Bieber alone.

  • @DanFindling I found typing want at the start works

  • @DanFindling when u type 'jeff', the 5th suggestion is this song
