could anyone give me an idea of how my fish weighed? please see my video under my user name. I am only a novice angler and based on what I read online a 28" walleye in Canada averages 8-9lbs but I swear mine was a fatty lol. I have seen some 28" weigh up to 10+lbs. We had already limited out on our trip and for that day and this was the last fish of the trip so we released her to be someone else's trophy so I only got a measurement, no scale. Any help would be appreciated, I am happy either way!
we got two 26'' and a 27" last week. use a pink with silver spoon with two hooks and a 5" gulp leech. use over rocks. Done with right care, they can be deadly!!
I dint catch ones that large at my aunts lake house, but i caught about 15 inches, and i just thought my line had snagged on a weed like it always did when jigging in that spot, so i reeled it in and thought it was just carrying the large weed, and then i saw it and felt it thrashing lol, it was like a wet noodle though, lol.
i know what you mean, lunker walleyes do feel like snags when you hook onto em, i had one sit in teh same spot for about ten minutes once because i thought it was a snag.
If I only had $15-30 to spend, what lures or soft baits would you guys suggest for purchase? I'm going for mostly bass and panfish. Anything that can catch multiple species actually. Any help?
Lol, for bass and walleye you want just a lure and a line, just throw it in and slowly reel it in, jigging. for bait i suggest yuo use crawlers, yes, they work. Walleyes were biting all of our crawlers in Wisconsin. No lie. And for pan fish, use a haak and bobber, you can catch perch, crappy, or sunfish right of of almost any lake dock lol.
about 5 years ago i started trolling spinners and 1 to 3oz bottom bouncers at 1.3 to 4.5 mph and i was shocked at just how well they worked. knowing when to use them is the true skill. if used at the right time and place these are deadly for large walleye. its a fun feeling having a walleye hit while you are trolling at 4.5mph! especially if it is big. my advice would be to not get stuck in any one way of fishing for walleye. learn different tatics and more importatly when to use them
I fish those spinners like that for years and years now.
Most people in the Netherlands fish with a jighead and a rubber shad-minnow, and that's good too.
But the know how is very poor overhere.
We can fish , dont get me wrong , but it's a real "monkey see monkey do" mentallity overhere, even if there are many other good ways for everyone to catch Zanders, they stick to what some of the people do because of their status...
what lake is it?

Personally i prefer using the zoom super fluke these have great action and only run 3-5 dollars per pack also use 3/0 or 4/0 hook with them

I also like using a nightcrawler rig with a snap-n-swivel
just put a 3 inch crawler on and troll as slow as u possibly can
