Such an immature comment for someone your age. Every race and community in India ended up fighting for the British at some point or another. The present Indian army is in fact the erstwhile British Indian army and they have served India valiantly at all times. Sikhs, Gurkhas, Marathas, Rajputs, Pathans and all other kshatriya communities fought for the British, now they fight for India. Although u guys have entire regiments 4 ur community, in recent Kargil was out of total 527 casualties only 5 Indian Gorkhas lost their lives i.e. less than 1%. States like orrisa , Bihar had higher number of of casualties than Gorkhas. Is this what u mean by sacrificing so much for India?

Battle formations are not on basis of regiments but corps, divisions and brigades which have battalion sized units. under them. You can end up with Sikh, Rajput and Gurkha Battallions in the same brigade. Regiments are affiliations, not formations. Gurkha regiments are some of the most sought after by infantry officers and have 28 out of IA's 360 infantry batallions.

What are you implying? Since casualties from some states are higher they are better fighters? That is ludacris, Indian army does not function in this way. There were certain sectors in kargil war where IA faced heavy casualties due to failed tactics or geographical disadvantage and in others operations went as planned. A successful operation is one with minimum casualties. Gurkha regiments have a very good record since they were raised centuries ago. They have 3 PVCs to their name and 30 VCs.

We can gauge the intensity of resistance by the number of casualties. U will have high casualties if u give stiff resistance or put up a strong fight.
