  • I got a headache just trying to understand what NBECMich was talking about

  • That is good track. It cracks me up when people think they know so much about the railroad. As long as the majority of spikes are holding, the track is safe. Many spikes work loose from the pumping action of the train. The track is still safe. That is straight track and there is very little movement of the track, except for the vertical motion of the pumping action. Even loose spikes will wold the rail in place. The anchor could easily have been leftover from previous repairs.

  • Tresspassing on land seized by eminent domain? Owned by robber barons but reclaimed by hobos and graffiti artists. The ghosts of the chinese won't mind.

  • looks like pretty good track to me those ties aren't that bad and didn't look like there was alot of mud i'd say its good for at least 45 judging by the video alone. you'd be surprised what trains can get over

  • The most dangerous thing taking place here is that the individuals in this video are trespassing on other people's property and "messing around" with things they know NOTHING about.

  • if the spikes were all coming out on the low side of a curve . it could be real bad

  • got milk

  • this comment if for railrunneradrian,,,Yes it illegal to be on railway proprety and it call stilling railway proprety just to take a single spike,,,but you have no right to wish arm like that to people,,,to wish someone being cauld or hit just because of tresspassing is rongue,,controlle watt you saying it not like they were attacking people there they were just at the rong place takink scrap it not the end of the world,,even if it does belonge the the railway,,it could turn again you

  • @NBECMich

There were so many grammatical errors in that sentence, I had to stop just to comment. How are you gonna lecture people on the fundamental rights of humans when you couldn't pass basic English.

  • i do the same thing all the time but not on active tracks on tracks that are marked abandoned

  • when i was 8 years old i used to got down BESIDE the tracks in the dry ditch and look for spikes and plates already out of its tracks and pick them up i have a whole collection

  • DUDE, THATS IILEGAL, AND BECUASE PEOPLE LIKE YOU, WHO TRESSPAss on train TRACKS WHICH IS PRIVATE PROPERTY I HOPE U GET FINED ARRESTED, OR HIT BY SOMETHING SO YOU CAN LEARN UR LESSON NEVER TO WALK, PLAY SITT, ON TRAIN TRACKS, AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY THE TRAIN HITTS THEM.

  • THATS ILEGAL!!!!!!!!!STOP IT!!!!!

  • I'm not well derailment

I'm your wife with great care

And the railway company to report?

  • well he has never worked on the track if he did he would know the difference i know that ive been doing it for most of my life

  • foamers

  • as long as spikes are in the tie they work ok. when people like this pull them halfway out they arnt helping the rails. also rail anchors on the side of the track dont help with anything

  • well thats where your wrong anchors prevent the rail from moving in a lateral force that helps to prevent track buckles-or sun kinks and the spikes should have been pulled , plugged and then respiked or the ties need to be replaced as theres only a shell of the ties left - thats where they rot from the inside out called punking out, for one they shouldnt be on the track its tresspassing,

  • These people are idiots. im not talking about the railroad, im talking about the idiots in the video. they have no clue about railroads and track. they pull spikes and rail anchors.

  • neither do you ..................

  • before i made thoes coments i talked to the former assistant cheif civil engineer for BN in the 80'. and then i repeated it to youtube.

  • plate doesnt have to cut in to the tie to be bad, the tie is more than likely rotten (hollow) inside

  • ive seen far worse ties than those. they have to be in really bad shape before a railroad would want to replace them

  • 10 mph track needs 1 of 10 ties to hold atleast 40% on tangent track and 4 of 10 in the spiral and curve same in switches and turnouts, so you are correct sir!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I sure hope that was reported...to the Federal Railroad Administration....

  • they should go to work for the F.R.A and write up the track inspector and railroad for missing anchor, losse, spikes and bad ties.

  • id didnt see no bad ties. the plates have to cut into more than 33% of the tie before it has to be replaced.

  • its 40% and like i said above they may be punked out and need to be replaced or you could turn them over and respike them but its up to the foreman or track inspector/ defect detector car to find these problems
