Oh and I'm also *in fucking love* with Maynard, I want his babies.. and the whole band they are so bad ass I've seen them 3 times in the past 2 years in concert, they are fucking epic live, better than any recording of them.. Now how many bands can say that..??
I've liked this vid since it came out in 2006.. I am the shit, and the scream at the end... it spoils the recorded version for me bc I just wanna hear it every time. Whhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyy??????????
Finally, this is the only version of the new style Stinkfist where the crowd shuts the hell up until the last note and you can hear him say 'Take my.......hand'. Beautiful
I so wish they released a live version of Stinkfist with that fucking super awsome kick-ass scream that he does in the middle.... words just can't explain how fucking kick-ass it is! :-D
Pure talent, integrity and genious. Maynard is extremely poetic in the myriads of ways he has to explain his life experiences. The melodic phrasing of the instruments are done so well, that they translate on piano and most other instruments (melodic wise). My last wish would be to see them live.
@legendsdc If you can give me some reason of why it is so called "pathetic" then I will shutup right now. But I doubt you have the intellectual integrity to even understand what I said. Im sorry you have to go around trolling because you were dropped on your head as a child and can't comprehend what a 19 year old has to say about a band. If you don't understand it, your not a musician or you should not even be listening to tool. Go back to your jonas brothers fag.
Seriously, you're making a bad name for Tool fans. It is bad enough that some people actually think we're smug assholes who think we're super smart for liking this band, but don't get all high and mighty because you can write well.

Tool is just a Legendary Band...Their music will live on through time as classic Gems. Cause in my opinion i think their songs are the only ones that make a person "experience" their music and get lost for those blissfull minutes in their mind.
The lyrics are telling how we've become desensitized to everything...we need more extremes to "get us off" or make us feel anything. The "normal" isn't enough anymore
I think it´s about common nature in all of us: the one who always left us wanting more, of whatever it is. And some people really drive it to extremes. There´s always a point of no return, that´s when people get obsessed, it becomes a necessity. Can be on drugs, sex, etc. Maynard does not focuse on something in particular, it can be applied to anything.
yeah so maynard sat down and said: "im gonna write a song about anal fisting". It goes much deeper than that. As a true tool fan, you should know they go very complex in their lyrics.
as a true tool fan, you should know that you're supposed to interpret the lyrics your own way...its not what they mean to maynard, its what they mean to you...
see buddy now your contradicting yourself...buddy's interpretation of the song was about anal fisting and you acting like some big intellectual douche said.."no the songs are way more complex than that"...now your saying I'll send you MY interpretation of the song...so what makes your opinion of the song more legit than anyone else's...you think your a better tool fan or something? GET FUCKED
I dont doubt the song goes way deeper than "anal fisting" I agree with u there..but then you come on and start talking about being a true tool fan..why because your trying to learn sacred geometry..because you think your inside mayard's head more than anyone else? For all you know the song could just be about anal fisting..so once again I say to u..Tool is my favorite band ever..but faggots like you who think they're the best TOOL fans are fuckin idiots..and once again I say to u..GET FUCKED
oh one more thing dont even bother replying cus u clearly just got completely owned and I won't waste my time replying..cause unlike you I'm not wasting my time trying to learn sacred geometry and trying to do everything MJK does you fuckin douche.
hahahaha! what a poor bastard. give me pity. Maybe you wanna waste your time by saying every tool song is about anal fisting. Or maybe you should learn some sacred geometry and stop replying bullshit. Im not saying i`m the best tool fan ever. I studied sg long time ago before hearin to tool, and i`m talking about year 1991. and YES, I REPLY you motherfucker
I like this song live SO much better then the studio recording...I love the way Maynard changes the vocal parts. When alot of bands do that the songs sound like shit, but he does it well
Keenan stated that the song is titled after a friend of drummer Danny Carey who "isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty." He also stated that it can be interpreted as being about "fist-fucking" but "if [you] really look at it and really look at us and who we are, [you'll] understand that we go a little deeper than some write-off song about fist-fucking." Fist fucking is in actuality a metaphor for the real cause of ailment.
According to Maynard, it's about fisting... if you take it at face value. But he also says that he thinks his fans know him better than to think he'd write some random, throwaway song about fisting. So hey, the song is pretty much open to whatever interpretation you want.
And dude, Maynard's scream in this was completely awesome. Awesome song, awesome band.
In my opinion, it's about Maynard's former heroin addiction. If you think of the actual drug being the narrator of the song, and then listen to the whole thing, it makes sense.
Great song. When they play it live, Danny's solo the bridge really gives you a chill of some powerful presence. I love it.
ok tool compared to green day, fuck me you gotta be kidding. Green day has some good songs do not get me wrong, but to compare em to Tool you gotta be fuckin insane '
possible the best quality sounding tool bootleg ever! Justin's wal bass sounds amazing (best bass sound ever?) Amazing performance, tool are in a league of their own!
This song is actually a huge metaphor for how Maynard felt the record companies "fist" aka screw their artists. This song was recorded shortly after their large legal battle with Volcano Records. That battle was one of the many reasons they decided to create their own record label, TOOL Dissectional.
The song prision sex is about how he was raped by his stepfather, and him recognizing a cycle of abuse, and how he was afraid he would somehow propetuate that. It's not really a laughing matter.
Stinkfist. The most intricate and simultaneously crippling song I've ever heard. Makes me feel like a vulnerable little child every time I'm exposed to it. Chilling.
Too bad its almost impossible to see tool live (Houston,Texas)where i live because we booed the opening band one year now when they do come they play 4 or 5 songs then leave.
im pretty sure they are. they did about a year ago and they have a tour scheduled to come here soon, but whats stupid is i live in Vancouver, and tool is playing like kewlona and victoria i think. why would they play the stupid small cities? dam come to vancouver again lol
i just looked it up, its saskatoon on nov27, kewlona nov29, and victoria dec01. the kewlona arena is 6800 people at full capacity, and the victoria one is 7400 at full capacity.
they play in stupid small cities because people like me who live in stupid small cities like saskatoon can go see them on a Tuesday night, like this tuesday night, which is something of a treat when normally we have to drive to calgary or edmonton to see decent shows. it's going to be awesome.
valid point...still wish they came to vancouver between kewlona and victoria, though. playing 2 shows of like 3000 people is kinda pointless. might as well fill inbetween with a show of 10,000 people
just came back from the show, which wasn't even sold out. they played where the saskatoon blades play (think an arena the size of where the rockets play), and the top tier at the back was even closed off. i thought there'd be more people from alberta there, but maybe the roads were shit.
you're probably right about playing larger shows in vancouver.....the interior bc folk who are going would still make the trek to van.
hey. take a goddam joke. you're probably a nine year old little prick who has nothing better to do than sit around and see flaws in what people say on the internet. *walks away like the bigger man I am*
Oh and I'm also *in fucking love* with Maynard, I want his babies.. and the whole band they are so bad ass I've seen them 3 times in the past 2 years in concert, they are fucking epic live, better than any recording of them.. Now how many bands can say that..??

valid point...still wish they came to vancouver between kewlona and victoria, though. playing 2 shows of like 3000 people is kinda pointless. might as well fill inbetween with a show of 10,000 people

just came back from the show, which wasn't even sold out. they played where the saskatoon blades play (think an arena the size of where the rockets play), and the top tier at the back was even closed off. i thought there'd be more people from alberta there, but maybe the roads were shit.
you're probably right about playing larger shows in vancouver.....the interior bc folk who are going would still make the trek to van.

I agree this song always stood out to me as relatively their best track live. I love how maynard tweeks it.

Haha, does anyone else notice that Justin makes Danny laugh at 5:52? Maybe I'm crazy, but that's what it looks like to me...
