  • Oh and I'm also *in fucking love* with Maynard, I want his babies.. and the whole band they are so bad ass I've seen them 3 times in the past 2 years in concert, they are fucking epic live, better than any recording of them.. Now how many bands can say that..??

  • I've liked this vid since it came out in 2006.. I am the shit, and the scream at the end... it spoils the recorded version for me bc I just wanna hear it every time. Whhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyy??????????

  • Finally, this is the only version of the new style Stinkfist where the crowd shuts the hell up until the last note and you can hear him say 'Take my.......hand'. Beautiful

  • Tool owns everythinG! hands down!!!!

  • It gives me such a great feel of serenity to know that I can die as a happy man, cause I was there that day. The summer of my life that was.

  • this is the most powerful performance of stinfist i've seen

  • Lol. About that last comment. Maynard has really special free control over his voice. I'm horny for it

  • from 4:05 is the true definition of the word

    "EPIC"

Adam Jones the fucking man. and danny and justin and maynard.

but Adam fuck just kicks ass

  • Greatest musical moment from 4:05 onwards.

  • I so wish they released a live version of Stinkfist with that fucking super awsome kick-ass scream that he does in the middle.... words just can't explain how fucking kick-ass it is! :-D

  • this is a really tight tool vid

  • the extra music closed for the same bassline from the beginning is delightful

  • tool in mexicooooo

    please¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • @ThePajaromuerto

They'll never go to your dirty fucking country, you bitch.

  • @piepermatthew im not mexican but still can tell you : you are an imbecile , belligerent idiot.

  • @christiannandres

I may be; but at least I'm not a nasty ass beaner.

  • @piepermatthew no you are not you are just....ah!!!forget it i wont waste my time

  • @christiannandres

    hahahahahaa I win.

  • @piepermatthew hahaha............no you haven't!!!

  • Pure talent, integrity and genious. Maynard is extremely poetic in the myriads of ways he has to explain his life experiences. The melodic phrasing of the instruments are done so well, that they translate on piano and most other instruments (melodic wise). My last wish would be to see them live.

  • That has got to be the most pathetic paragraph I have ever read, shut the fuck up you moron...

  • @legendsdc If you can give me some reason of why it is so called "pathetic" then I will shutup right now. But I doubt you have the intellectual integrity to even understand what I said. Im sorry you have to go around trolling because you were dropped on your head as a child and can't comprehend what a 19 year old has to say about a band. If you don't understand it, your not a musician or you should not even be listening to tool. Go back to your jonas brothers fag.

  • @GuitarRHCPfan

Seriously, you're making a bad name for Tool fans. It is bad enough that some people actually think we're smug assholes who think we're super smart for liking this band, but don't get all high and mighty because you can write well.

  • Tool is just a Legendary Band...Their music will live on through time as classic Gems. Cause in my opinion i think their songs are the only ones that make a person "experience" their music and get lost for those blissfull minutes in their mind.

  • holy shit i just came everywhere

  • @Blacksnake311

Not in my mouth. Better do it again. Fucking fag.

  • maynard is and awsoem singer and he performs perfectly!

  • anyone know where I can get a mp3 of the extended stinkfist?

  • Give me enough time an could make one for ya.

  • that would be amazing if you could.

  • Maynard James Keenan at his best

  • yes, Maynard is spot on in this performance... not to say that he isn't in other songs of course : )

  • puscifer

  • so beautiful the way danny carey slips in the intro part after their instrumental... ::shivers::

  • Tool....... just thank you :).....

  • tool is the best band ever!

  • Yeah, that scream is epic!

  • 3:14 when he screams, that is just epic in every way.

  • @Cr1msonAndRed

Shut your fucking mouth, you soppy cunt.

  • @piepermatthew Shhh.

  • @Cr1msonAndRed He's turning Super Sayian lmao...

  • @Cr1msonAndRed it sure was, faggot

  • 2:00 Justin looks like Jesus... AMAZING

  • lol agreed

  • interpretation of tool is intentional you sheep (pembroke)

  • this is such an intense song when it's live, hope i get to see it someday...

  • This song live, just a Tool show in general will blow you away. Far and away the best live show you'll ever go to.

  • can't wait for it then :D

  • Good God this version is incredible. Proof that Tool is the most musically and lyrically incredible band around. Awesome vid.

  • hate people who interpret songs......i just listen to them!

  • we are all tools with opinions just shut up and listen,...

  • back vox in chorus? im guessing adam...

  • not likely cus at around 1:43 when the chorus kicks on you see adam playing with no vocal backing

  • i think its someone in the croud. that would be my guess

  • why do you think that your interpretation is correct ??

  • tool is so fucking great..one of the greatest rock bands ever

  • wow... that scream pretty much made me orgasm.....

  • Maynard must read peoples ideas on what the lyrics mean and think "man people are so fucking stupid"

  • The lyrics are telling how we've become desensitized to everything...we need more extremes to "get us off" or make us feel anything. The "normal" isn't enough anymore

  • Maynards scream is chilling!

    fucking amazing!

  • The roar from Maynard was awesome, he has powerful set of pipes!

  • this one has great sound thanks for posting!

most of em on here are shitty quality.

  • This lyrics are fuckin disturbing. I know its a sick metaphor but of what?

  • anal fisting

  • I think it´s about common nature in all of us: the one who always left us wanting more, of whatever it is. And some people really drive it to extremes. There´s always a point of no return, that´s when people get obsessed, it becomes a necessity. Can be on drugs, sex, etc. Maynard does not focuse on something in particular, it can be applied to anything.

  • anal fisting

  • yeah so maynard sat down and said: "im gonna write a song about anal fisting". It goes much deeper than that. As a true tool fan, you should know they go very complex in their lyrics.

  • as a true tool fan, you should know that you're supposed to interpret the lyrics your own way...its not what they mean to maynard, its what they mean to you...

  • so your a true tool fan eh...tell me what all their songs are about genious

  • send me a list of the song you want to understand and I, joyfully will send you MY interpretations of their songs.

Perhaps you have some kind of obsession with anal fisting. sometimes people enjoy it so much that they see it all around. a pity, really.

  • see buddy now your contradicting yourself...buddy's interpretation of the song was about anal fisting and you acting like some big intellectual douche said.."no the songs are way more complex than that"...now your saying I'll send you MY interpretation of the song...so what makes your opinion of the song more legit than anyone else's...you think your a better tool fan or something? GET FUCKED

  • I dont doubt the song goes way deeper than "anal fisting" I agree with u there..but then you come on and start talking about being a true tool fan..why because your trying to learn sacred geometry..because you think your inside mayard's head more than anyone else? For all you know the song could just be about anal fisting..so once again I say to u..Tool is my favorite band ever..but faggots like you who think they're the best TOOL fans are fuckin idiots..and once again I say to u..GET FUCKED

  • oh one more thing dont even bother replying cus u clearly just got completely owned and I won't waste my time replying..cause unlike you I'm not wasting my time trying to learn sacred geometry and trying to do everything MJK does you fuckin douche.

  • hahahaha! what a poor bastard. give me pity. Maybe you wanna waste your time by saying every tool song is about anal fisting. Or maybe you should learn some sacred geometry and stop replying bullshit. Im not saying i`m the best tool fan ever. I studied sg long time ago before hearin to tool, and i`m talking about year 1991. and YES, I REPLY you motherfucker

  • i was there, thanks for sharing!!

  • Not enuff,

    I want moar!

  • Not enough,

    I want more!

  • I need more

  • He spelled it correctly. Must not be familiar with the internetz.

  • Love>Fear is the choice indeed, and Tool is one of the best, tightest nit live bands evah.

  • Its about being desensitized! U that ignorant?

  • I like this song live SO much better then the studio recording...I love the way Maynard changes the vocal parts. When alot of bands do that the songs sound like shit, but he does it well

  • Keenan would introduce the song during the Ænima tour as "about choosing compassion over fear."

  • Keenan stated that the song is titled after a friend of drummer Danny Carey who "isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty." He also stated that it can be interpreted as being about "fist-fucking" but "if [you] really look at it and really look at us and who we are, [you'll] understand that we go a little deeper than some write-off song about fist-fucking." Fist fucking is in actuality a metaphor for the real cause of ailment.

  • LOL, Wikipedia intellectuals

  • totally agree buddy. But here we`ve got some fuckers who don`t understand those deeper concepts.

  • 5:22 sick

  • god i love the bass!!

  • How could any of these negative comments mean anything to Maynard?

  • According to Maynard, it's about fisting... if you take it at face value. But he also says that he thinks his fans know him better than to think he'd write some random, throwaway song about fisting. So hey, the song is pretty much open to whatever interpretation you want.

And dude, Maynard's scream in this was completely awesome. Awesome song, awesome band.

  • In my opinion, it's about Maynard's former heroin addiction. If you think of the actual drug being the narrator of the song, and then listen to the whole thing, it makes sense.

Great song. When they play it live, Danny's solo the bridge really gives you a chill of some powerful presence. I love it.

  • surprised hes not wearing a speedo and dry humping men in this one

  • mr jones' solo?? the best. " how can this mean anything to me? if i dont feel anything at all?"

  • Gives me chills every time I watch it. The boys are in their own world when it comes to performing live, and their music is truely inspirational.

  • he kinda reminds me of Brittany Spears.

  • green day has a 3/3 at their most complex of songs. Tool does 7/8/ Green Day....really

  • ok tool compared to green day, fuck me you gotta be kidding. Green day has some good songs do not get me wrong, but to compare em to Tool you gotta be fuckin insane '

  • Well said.

  • possible the best quality sounding tool bootleg ever! Justin's wal bass sounds amazing (best bass sound ever?) Amazing performance, tool are in a league of their own!

  • Green day..? wtf

they are shit compared to tool

    tool is their own genre

no other band sounds like them

  • You're kinda right ... because they DO kick Green Day's asses . But they aren't metal and niether are Green Day ... so I'm afraid you are a twat .

  • Tool is awesome and this video is such eye candy.

Check out my tribute to Tool using Schism and Parabola with Evil Dead footage. See my profile (ccny12).

    Gotta love it!

  • Epic....

  • This song always reminded me of some of the most romantic moments of my life. Great love song!

  • surpringly good quality! awesome tool song! thanks!

  • Alot of people think there rock i personally think there just the best METAL band ever. They would kick Green Days ass.

  • This song always represented to me how we can dig ourselves in a hole further and further until we hit rock bottom, but cool insight Danny RULZ

  • that was so goddamn amazing... Tool kicks so much ass that it is scientifically impossible to put down on paper just how many asses they kick

  • Brilliant.

  • best band ever

  • I just want tool to come to Baltimore at least once so I can see them Live, Always wanted to

  • I'm shocked they haven't gone there. I've seen them in Philly twice in the past few years.

  • ah stinkfist....sublimenaly(sic) the song about fisting a women...this is why tool is my favorite band lol

  • Theres NOTHING about it being a woman, My thoughts: this is the song that states why he sodomized people in the song prison sex =), boredom,

  • This song is actually a huge metaphor for how Maynard felt the record companies "fist" aka screw their artists. This song was recorded shortly after their large legal battle with Volcano Records. That battle was one of the many reasons they decided to create their own record label, TOOL Dissectional.

  • it's about fisting you idiot, and how us humans are getting "bored" of our selfs and we have to find new ways to intertain

  • it's about fisting you idiot, and how us humans are getting "bored" of our selfs and we have to find new ways to intertain

  • it's about fisting you idiot, and how us humans are getting "bored" of our selfs and we have to find new ways to intertain

  • it's about fisting you idiot, and how us humans are getting "bored" of our selfs and we have to find new ways to intertain

  • The song prision sex is about how he was raped by his stepfather, and him recognizing a cycle of abuse, and how he was afraid he would somehow propetuate that. It's not really a laughing matter.

  • lol im laughing

  • lol

  • lol man your such an idiot..

  • well you're wrong and that's all i have to say

  • Adam Jones

  • Comfort+temporary= sadness. . A heightened state of paranoia.

  • Stinkfist. The most intricate and simultaneously crippling song I've ever heard. Makes me feel like a vulnerable little child every time I'm exposed to it. Chilling.

  • Is ja mal Hammer geil, grad das Solo was sie ab 4:15 reingepackt haben, ziemlich genial die Band!!

  • Ja mann! Des Solo is echt geil. Weis gar net, ob die des in frankfurt gespielt ham, dieses jahr...

  • Heil fuck you

  • you dont get a thing right? so few people have good humor sense nowdays.

  • oh you dont know shit about me.. i have a great sense of humor, just dont go posting shit like that mate, you could get in trouble

  • yeah liek someone is gonna shoot me in the fa...

  • Hey this was added on my b day! ;) TOOL FUCKING ROCKS!!

  • Has anyone heard if they're releasing this extended version of sinkfist? Live DVD?

  • Really?

  • I don't know, I'm asking.

  • Too bad its almost impossible to see tool live (Houston,Texas)where i live because we booed the opening band one year now when they do come they play 4 or 5 songs then leave.

  • I saw tool in Houston 2 weeks ago. They played for 2 hours. I guess they've forgiven us.

Maynard's final words, if it's relavent, "Pleasure. See you again soon."

  • yeah i missed that one by the time i heard about it it was sold out but still last time i went it was like a little over 3 hours

  • He called us a bunch of drunken bastards and told us to be careful going home.july in massachusetts.

  • TOOL=GOD nuff said

  • That scream was fucking sick!

  • it was pretty weak imo. and i consider myself a very devoted Tool fan. that moment is perfect without any vocals.

  • I agree... :S

  • I hope tool comes to canada sumtime soon their so fuckin epic!

  • im pretty sure they are. they did about a year ago and they have a tour scheduled to come here soon, but whats stupid is i live in Vancouver, and tool is playing like kewlona and victoria i think. why would they play the stupid small cities? dam come to vancouver again lol

  • haha I live in ottawa Id probably have to trek to vancouver if they came there..unless they came to o-town!

  • i just looked it up, its saskatoon on nov27, kewlona nov29, and victoria dec01. the kewlona arena is 6800 people at full capacity, and the victoria one is 7400 at full capacity.

  • oh wicked cool..thats kinda short notice for rite now..but thanks for letting me know they are doing sum kind of canadian tour

  • they play in stupid small cities because people like me who live in stupid small cities like saskatoon can go see them on a Tuesday night, like this tuesday night, which is something of a treat when normally we have to drive to calgary or edmonton to see decent shows. it's going to be awesome.

  • valid point...still wish they came to vancouver between kewlona and victoria, though. playing 2 shows of like 3000 people is kinda pointless. might as well fill inbetween with a show of 10,000 people

  • just came back from the show, which wasn't even sold out. they played where the saskatoon blades play (think an arena the size of where the rockets play), and the top tier at the back was even closed off. i thought there'd be more people from alberta there, but maybe the roads were shit.

you're probably right about playing larger shows in vancouver.....the interior bc folk who are going would still make the trek to van.

  • thats kinda a downer lol

how can they not fill like what? 4000 seats yet fill 10000

  • saw them in glasgow secc. saved heavy music for me. bought the back cat. what a show.

  • arrrrrrr that scream

    beautiful man

  • im going to see them december 3rd in missoula its going to be RAD!

  • i saw them at the big day out in auckland 2007

this was the first song they played.. its was one of the greatest experiances of my life!

  • I agree this song always stood out to me as relatively their best track live. I love how maynard tweeks it.

  • even better being there live!!! gonna see them again in salt lake in november. cant wait.

  • i like how he holds the "alive" at the first of the song...much better than the original version...always improving...gotta love em

  • Haha, does anyone else notice that Justin makes Danny laugh at 5:52? Maybe I'm crazy, but that's what it looks like to me...

  • jeah!

  • adam jones is probably my favorite riff-writer. this song is what is known as a perfect song

  • what kind of camera were you using to get such amazing sound quality here?

  • not my video

  • Gotta love Tool <3

  • there should be a warning not to watch this video if you have epilepsy.

  • seriously

  • Go bitch somewhere else health n safety freak

  • hey. take a goddam joke. you're probably a nine year old little prick who has nothing better to do than sit around and see flaws in what people say on the internet. *walks away like the bigger man I am*

  • Amazing; what a talented band wish I saw them at Atlantic City 8(

  • 3:15 - That scream is fucking SICK.

  • Maynard is an amazing singer!!!
