  • Awesome job guys!

    5 stars!

  • thumbs up, brahs

  • Cooooooool!!!!

  • this is really cool guys! :)

  • Having troubling picking up the second harmonization. I can tell that it's over G C Bm, but what part of the triad is it? When you move up over the 12th fret, looks like the open position, but I can't seem to quite get the notes.

  • ok...Your chords are right. The 2nd part of the solo I'm playing the G in the open "A shape." I'm playing the C in the "D shape." I'm playing the Bm in a "D minor" shape. I hope this helps.

    DH

  • is the solo just different inversions of the G C Bm chord progression

  • That's all it is...arpeggios of varying inversions that outline the progression (:G C G C Bm C D:)

  • SICK---Please post more!!!

  • Hey there,

Thanks checkin' in and for your support. We appreciate it very much. More videos are on the way. Be well and stay tuned.

    Hugh - Handmade Groove

  • The song is called "If I Could"...not "If I Could I Would".

  • Yes, Tyrone, we know that! Thanks.

  • this is really beautiful...i'm from chile and i've just heard this song a month ago...you rock!

  • thank you! it's beautifully executed!

  • Okay, you're right, I love this one too :) Oh man..you've made a Fan in CT. Do come back east, will you?

  • Impressive! Really guys, you rock!

  • very talented.

  • pppsssshh

  • My morning has just been made. Thanks!

  • Fantastic...If you're a Phish or Grateful Dead fan, you may also enjoy some of our other videos- we have 35 posted. Thanks for the kind words.

    David

  • amazing. truly amazing

  • This has got to be one of my favs. Not too many people can cover Phish and I like it. You two make beautiful music together, keep up the good work.

  • If you guys do come out east please post it and let us all know your playing is amazing the dead covers are right on and we would all come to see ya

  • You guys are solid. I'm an avid guitarist myself, as well as a dead/phish fan, and I respect the fact that you fellas 'go for it' as musicians. There's nothing more disconcerting than a musician that's too nervous to put there balls on the line. That said, from an aesthetic point-of-view, I would suggest wearing longer shorts or pants. The dude on the right is just one over-zealous strum away from testicular exposure. U can't expose your genitalia unless you're a big rock star.

  • That's hilarious!!! Hugh (big rock star on right with "near-testicular exposure") and I have joked about that before. We've both experienced "near misses." In any event, should a testi ever pop out, we have the technology available to pixilate that sucker to keep the video suitable for our underage viewers. If you're ever in Tucson, give us a call...We'll jam!

  • Have you considered that exposing my genitalia might make me a big rock star?? Lord knows my guitar playing hasn't...

Thanks for the best laugh I have had in a while.

    Hugh - Handmade Groove

  • I agree with the above, those shorts are too short.

I say this cause I have nothing bad to say about the video.

    It's Good

  • i never ever listen before but this type of music & singing touch my heart well done .i m enjoying ur music lovellllllllllllllllly guys

  • Hey...I really enjoyed this and the others I listened to. Do you guys tour? If so, do you ever come to Boston? Also, yes, Fast Enough for You would be a cool one to hear.

  • We have played just out here in the southwest so far - AZ. CAL and NEV. Hopefully Colorado soon. We'd love to come east sometime!! Thanks for the support!! We'll put Fast Enough for You back on the radar screen. It's been a few years since we've played it. We should have a few new videos up in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!!

    Best, Hugh - Handmade Groove

  • Very enjoyable to listen to fellas. I guess Roggae is a common request, but how bout Fast Enough for You. You guys could kill that one!

  • U guys rock and have inspired me to get my own duo goin on when i get my D-10 with my tax return. this song sounds really good when u start with the C shape startin on the 8th fret and then down to b7, the open strings resonate. I use that way cus I'm only one guitar, again u guys vocal harmonys kick ass

  • wow, that was amazing. Really, if you shut your eyes and just play this tune, it really sounds like phish. awesome job.

  • finding you guys has has almost been therepeutic since i've really been missing phish here lately. thank you for all the amazing tunes. and hearing a performance of roggae from you would make my year. peace and keep up the amazing work!

  • Thanks for the kind words. Oddly, we get requests for Roggae a lot. It may be a while before we post it, but I'll put it on the list.

  • you guys should definitely do a horse-> silent in the morning. and how about a roggae? my favorite underrated phish tune.

  • Hey there,

We were just messing around a few days back, playing for the fun of it and not really working on anything, and slid into parts of Frakie Sez and Roggae. Roggae is awesome and I could see us doing it sometime. Thanks for the good ideas!!

    Best, Hugh

  • its great that you added the vocal harmonies, my pet peeve is when bands don't do the vocal harmonies on covers, nice job guys.

  • We always try to do harmonies...We certainly enjoy doing them. How well we do them...That's another thing all together!

  • You guys ROCK. Absolutely beautiful. xo

  • Holy crap that was very good. Five stars. I haven't listened to Phish in years, and this just brought back many memories. xD

  • That was very, VERY good. I'm going to have to watch this a few more times... U have the chord progression or tablature by chance?

  • Thank you. The opening figure is essentially the C shape moved up two frets. The chords are G B7 C G G F C D

The chorus is G C G C Bm C and then that opening figure.

    That's most of it!

  • it took me til the second time listenin to you guys play this to feel the NEED to say nicely done...that was a nice if i could..thoroughly enjoyed THANK YOU

  • Thank you so much.

  • I am sure I will. That, along w Lizards, Dirt, Waste, Velvet Sea and Friday are some of my all-time favorite ballad solos. Cause, as Trey has said, they are not really a "solos" kind of band, w some obvious exceptions. Bass solo on Free, etc.

Where do you guys reside? I would love to meet you or hear you play.

Thanks for Horn soon and keep on playing great songs, not only from Phish but the Dead and the Beatles!

  • Lizards tops my list, too. We are in Tucson, Arizona and we'd love to meet you, as well. FYI, Horn is now up. Baring a few minor fuck-up's on my part, it's pretty good!

  • Hey there,

Wow, Thanks so much for your kind words about Handmade Groove. WOW! We do appreciate the support very much. I

f you have not already seen / heard them, Horn and Dirt are already posted. Click on the "sneakypower" link and that will take you to all of them as well as some really excellent solo efforts by Dave.

Thanks again very much. Best to ya!! Hugh

  • You guys rock! Better voices than Trey, and w no ego ie the whole no pictures of Phish in Europe w heads (bittersweet motel film). That is totally a-hole. I would see you guys for sure. You are the DeathStar equivalent for Phish. All you need is a bass player w mad skills and a drummer. Keyboard players are easy to find.

I would love to hear Lizards solo, horn solo, sloth, or friday. Keep doing what you are doing. You are beyond fans or a cover band. You are great musicians!

  • Wow! Many thanks for the too-kind comment.... I will be posting a Horn within the week. I hope you like it.

  • haha THAT IS STRAIGHT HILARIOUS...IF I MET PHISH AND THEY DID THAT ON MY PICTURE I WOULD NOT HAVE STOPPED LAUGHING...trey n the rest are sum clowns..how would you have survived 20 years of touring without having some fun

  • that's true. tuche'. it's funny too. I guess we can all be asses sometimes to ammuse ourselves. And the person would still know it was themselves in the picture, cause of clothes or obvious identifiers, and so would probably actually value the photo in Europe more than a regular one anyways.

    True, true

  • Blew my mind, but I am drunk. But still. Maby sober, it would just be "OK" But drunk, you guys are as good as a single fat girl!

  • is there anyth8ing you guys can't do

  • damn you guys fucking rock!

  • Hey there Phreaky!

Thanks for the kind comment, and for supporting what we do. Glad you liked it!!

    Best, Hugh

  • Nice!! I absolutely love the songs you guys do!! You nailed this!!

  • yeah horn has a great solo.

what about something like a AC/DC bag or an Antelope or a Weekapaug groove, or a mikes song.

haha i'll let you guys do the deciding you rock!

  • You guys should write some of your own songs and maybe get some bongos or a bass or something and I bet you could play some pretty big venues

  • Believe me, my friend, that we have entertained that idea...and thanks for the confidence.. A Fluffhead is not likely anytime soon, but I encourage you to view the "Fluff's Travels" posted by zosoj14- He does a really good job!

  • ah man well i wish you the best of luck. yeah i know i have checked out that fluffs travel before. judging by the songs you have played im suprised i havent seen a chalkdust torture or a scarlet begonias. those would both be awesome on the acoustic

  • We do play those two songs. Either of them is a possibility, but we would like to post Horn first.

  • You guys are really good I learned harry hood from watching your video and a lot of other cool things you guys keep the legend going. How about a little fluff head-fluffs travel that would be sweet. Keep rocking!

  • Wow you two make the album vocal arrangement of this song sound good. Phish never did it like this live.

  • Wow... Thanks so very much for the kind comment. We appreciate it very much. Glad you enjoyed it!!

    Best, Hugh

  • I'm trying to get a few people i know to look at the videos. I'd love to see you guys doing a few of the smaller festivals next summer. I think the shows at Sunshine Daydream in Terra Alta, West Virginia would be a great fit for you guys--kind folks, intimate setting... anyway, keep it up.

  • That would be amazing and appreciated in ways I cannot describe. Thank you for the interest in what we're doing and the grassroots effort to take it somewhere!

  • Hey there,

Thanks so much for spreading the word about Handmade groove!!! We appreciate it very much.

Most importantly, I am glad you are enjoying the music -- we will have some more videos coming soon. Please stay in touch and thanks again!!

    Best, Hugh

  • thanks for posting this!!!!!!

  • Another favorite.....well done !!!

  • guy on left seems to be giving guy on right dirty looks. ;-)

  • That's me...I'm just mean looking! Thanks for the reminder to smile while shooting the videos! I'm smiling now!

  • *down in front theerion, I can't see* =)

Great choice - thanks for sharing!

  • * jumps up and down cheering *

  • Your voices work together so great. Let me know ahead of time when you're coming to Boulder,CO and I will put up posters, hand out flyers and whatever else you need. Ill even do the poster for you! ha thanks fellas

  • this is very pretty, nice job !

  • Great choice to play this, guys. played as perfectly as possible.

One flaw, however: The title is actually "If I Could".
