actually stock internals can handle nos.. it all depends how u use it and how much you use.. i got a stock 289 that im running nos on and i havent gotten any problems but thats because i have low compression and i only use a 125 shot.. if u have high compression and you use too much thats where you can crack the piston from the jolt that the engine takes then eventually the crack leads down to the rings..

@redghost105 Many cars require aftermarket internals to handle the boost. Which is lots of mulah'. More than nitrous.
