@richwfd2002 Certainly. Psalm 22:15-17 speaks of Messiah's crucifixion almost 1,000 years before it's invention. Daniel 9:25-26 speaks of the Messiah (Anointed One) coming before the destruction of the temple (sanctuary). Since the temple's was destroyed in 70 A.D. it follows that Messiah should have already come. If you're willing to check it out, that scripture starting at verse 24 also states that Messiah would put an end to sin would come in 33 A.D. This is just the tip of the ice berg.

Yes all those things you talked about is sin in the Bible... But as Rick said, it's about struggling with our natural ("sinful") impulses. In the Bible it states it as "putting death to sin through the power of the Holy Spirit." Read 1 Timothy 1:9-11 in the King James Version. The word homosexuality is not in there. People need to stop acting like the English translations are the original scrolls. Again, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 The word homosexual is not there. Romans 1 is not talking about two people of the same sex loving one another, and loving one another monogamously. There is not an English word for every Greek word or any other language.

Christians do according to your believes. On smoking, I know it is harmful to me. But as long as people do it in the privacy of their own home I would never forbid it. I do think it should be illegal in public though, because it's almost like deliberately poisoning innocent bystanders.

If Jesus said "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her" (John 8:7), that he who has not participated in adultery with her shall cast the first stone. Regardless what you believe, despite what anyone claims any deity might say in their little outdated book, no human should feel they have the right to dictate the lives of others. You wanna believe in a god and follow what that god says? Fine, good for you. But that doesn't mean anyone else has to. Such is the power of free will.

@richwfd2002 Certainly. Psalm 22:15-17 speaks of Messiah's crucifixion almost 1,000 years before it's invention. Daniel 9:25-26 speaks of the Messiah (Anointed One) coming before the destruction of the temple (sanctuary). Since the temple's was destroyed in 70 A.D. it follows that Messiah should have already come. If you're willing to check it out, that scripture starting at verse 24 also states that Messiah would put an end to sin would come in 33 A.D. This is just the tip of the ice berg.

@richwfd2002 Isaiah 44:28-45:1 states Cyrus as coming king of Persia would allow Israel to return from exile more than a hundred years before Cyrus was even born. Daniel 2:37-42 speaks of the Babylonian, Persian, Grecian, and Roman empires coming into power back when Babylon was the world power. Also, once I again, I never said sex was a right. I said sex is not a privilege. Sex is a biological imperative. It happens, generally for pleasure and bonding. What does the population have to do anything? That would be an argument against not having babies, rather than not having sex. Most sexual encounters aren't occurring to reproduce, so whatever point you tried to make is moot.

@KattoTang first off when someone replys to a comment i make and they are clearly wrong and i reply to said wrongness, that's my perogative as it is yours. next you don't need to have sex to survive that was the point of my post. you need water, food, love, shelter. these things you need. you do not need sex to survive in any way shape or form, being that the species has over 6 billion people and we are at the top of the food chain. so clearly sex is not a biological imperative.

@KattoTang okay katto how should people live their lives. but just know that if you are an atheist or an agnostic you can't tell anyone anything moral,(you can but you'd just be spouting hot air)including that i'm wrong, because what those paradimes are missing is an absolute object/truth (that is outside of your person)to use as a benchmark from which to measure good and bad. if you don't have this everything you say is relative. you can still be moral but you can't back anything moral you say.

Secondly, I think you mean "paradigm", and nothing you say is absolute truth. There is no such thing. Morals are formed more by society than by your so-called "god".
I'll humor you, I do feel people should try to pursue happiness in their lives. I don't know what morals have to do with anything--it's only necessary to follow the law. And if they don't want to, that's their choice; they'll pay the price eventually.

Morality is not logical because morality is entirely subjective, and nothing is black and white. And you're not logical either. If you cannot admit that there is no "absolute truth" and that you could be wrong because you're only human and therefore cannot possibly know for sure what's out there, then you're imbecilic and close-minded.

@KattoTang first explain exactly how i twist words, use fallacies or spread bigotry? Next, morality is subjective, therefore if you want to say something that is a moral judgement (ie. You should blank) and not have that statement be only an opinion you need to find something outside of yourself to appeal to that will back your statement. Without absolute truth (the Christian God) as a benchmark on the spectrum of good/evil then EVERYTHING is relative and can be justified or dismissed.

@KattoTang you need absolute truth to ascribe worth to an item or living being. for an example of this a store owner tells you that a cupcake costs $2.50 and you pay that amout if absoulte truth does exist. if absolute truth does not exists then you could say well that's nice but i think it's only worth $1 and the shop keeper would have to accept that as payment for his cupcake b/c his price point is only his opinion. you don't have to cover your costs to sell somthing.

Think of all the other religions in the world- can you say that they are wrong? People don't need this 'external benchmark' of morality becuase that can come from within; if it comes from your personal views that you have developed, surely that is a stronger moral compass than following something that you have been taught.
