  • 2:19

    come on! xD

  • New World Radio's Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia used to have this tune as part of its flash introductions on its websites! Also, the Islamic Voice of Revolution in Iraq, a clandestine radio station, used this tune as its theme music. You know, I can almost find myself singing the theme:

"This Is New World Radio, Philadelphia, P.A.!"

    Incredible, ain't it?

  • nobody told me pirates of the carribian was in town 8D

  • 0:14 or 0:15 beginning of Damien Sandow theme

  • Colonel Damien Sandow

  • @genericuser5 the conductor? that is Lorin Maazel

  • "His best-known works include his New World Symphony, the Slavonic Dances, "American" String Quartet, the opera Rusalka, Cello Concerto in B minor and choral works Stabat Mater, Requiem, Op. 89 and Te Deum."

    wiki^

  • too fast

  • One Piece brought me here, nice song to draw to btw

  • @marchingbandiscool72 our marching band shows first movement is this. Its absolutely amazing.

  • Luffy vs crocodile.

  • Marching band+Movement 4=Awesome but super difficult

  • Everyone hates on N. Korea and thats not a bad thing but really, its not the citizens fault at all. It is the gov't, but who brought communism there? the Chinese. who brough communism to china? Mao, who studied in Russia. Who brought it to Russia? Lenin. Who brought it from Germany, where Karl Marx and F. Engels thought of it. Why did they think of communism? Because of the European royalty living like kings (no pun) and mistreating citizens.

  • @HeartGoldMVP I'm not communist, but I think that kind of political system isn't fundamentally bad. The idea is good.

Unfortunately, European and American People are afraid of Communism because it seems that it can't exist without dictature: that's the main problem. Maybe it's true, maybe it's false.

In any case, current communist chief aren't very efficient to help their populations (it's an euphemism...)

  • @Protheeus Indeed, capitalism offers motivation while sacrificing equality, communism does the exact opposite. If everyone can be self-motivated saints, which we are not, communism can be the key to an utopia society.

  • @quizzisation Absolutely agree with you. What a shame (and a pitty) that a race like ours, who has abilities to stand back, proves to be so irresponsible during its whole history.

And I don't think this situation will improve a lot...

  • @HeartGoldMVP So, I suppose it's the old European royalty from the 19th century that's responsible for the poverty and autocracy that is North Korea and Cuba and that was China and the Soviet Union.

  • marvelous drama in this portion of the composition! (the audience is being very respectful)

  • Is it me or does the opening horn fanfare sound like fate sound like getting knocked on your butt by fate?

  • @genericuser5 Thats bad. I noticed that, too...lol

  • Wow, they're taking it a bit faster than normal....

  • In witch film i can hear this song ?

  • This is North Korea, of course the audience seems rather apathetic and even suspicious; they're not used to this kind of music. The State has isolated its people to the extent of making these great performances we take for granted as something alien to their world. They have to catch up with so much that it will take generations for them to accomplish what we have today. Maazel is great here and the orchestra phenomenal.

  • Conductor looks like Jack Nicholson.

  • 5:35 GO JOE AGAIN!!!!!!

  • Thomas Jostlein on horn and Philip Smith on trumpet are my two favorite brass players to listen to in this orchestra! Amazing!!

  • @HeldenCors phil smith is a friend of my private teacher, and i got to meet him! very nice guy

  • I love the part a little after the 1:00 mark and the 2:30 mark...it makes me go into an excited little music nerd fit. ( :

  • And I love watching the conductor...his facial expressions and movements are highly entertaining.

  • Bravo!!!

  • Awesome......

  • fastest version ever. AWESOME!

  • @mbubuulele well my region orchestra did it a tiny bit faster you should check out....... i seem so much like a nerd but its region 11 tmea 2009 on youtube

  • Such an ambitious tempo! I like it! The fact that such a fast marking is not very often used, particularly in the opening, makes this a great recording. God Bless the NY Phil!

  • awesome piece...but everybody looks so bored :( c'mooon its DVORAK BABY

  • @jellyfishtothemax Thats b/c they've probably played this piece 15 times in the last few months.

  • @jellyfishtothemax

I totally understand. This is a master piece! and a great performance!

Why don't the audience show their feelings on their faces????

  • @jellyfishtothemax it's north korea -_-

  • @jellyfishtothemax what do want them to do? throw up a "shocker" hand gesture while playing? stand on their chairs? it's on the inside and all going through their instruments.

  • Comment removed

  • @jellyfishtothemax If you smile or feel happy in North Korea, you're sent to a work camp for the rest of their life. The Phil is just respecting local customs and laws.

  • lol jaws intro

  • yup. john williams is an over praised theif. Listen to holst the planets and tell me he didnt steal the star wars themes.

  • @tylermerickel rofl

  • Every composer in history has imitated another, thus why so many composers are accused of borrowing something from another...which they do and turn it into something new of their own.

  • listen also to berlin philharmonic under karajan!

  • It is so awesome!!

  • go Philip Smith and Thomas Jostlein!!!

  • i wish that there was a recording of this concert...

  • lol

  • yeah, well...says who? smarty-pants? :P

  • If I ever get to play in an Orchestra like this then I Know that it was only because of God

  • That's how all the players in this orchestra got in

  • Vienna hall is one of the best, every orchestra sounds good in it.

  • this is definitely the best version BY FAR!

  • we all got our favorite versions.....

  • Was it me or was there additional notes in the timpani part around 3'00?

  • mmmmm

    i dunno

    i didnt hear anything

  • Nope, all is as it should be.

  • The part I've seen has (basically) dotted half notes but the timpanist here plays dotted quarters. It sounds really cool, I've just never heard it that way.

  • The 1st Horn of the New York Philharmonic, is the Philip Myers, he is my friend of Professor of Horn, the name of my teacher is Marcelo da Silva.

he lives here in Brazil, he lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

and months to come, he going to New York, to class with Trompista Myron Bloom and the Philip Myers.

  • Wonderful! Bonus that it was in North Korea! Bravo! Thank you James.

  • I have always liked this one.

  • For the people that have played Zelda The Phantom Hourglass, part of this song is Linebeck's Theme Song. Look it up if you don't believe me.
