I like when people comment about poor form. Telling a man that his bicep curls suck when he has 21" arms is like telling a man that his jumping technique sucks as he is dunking on you.
@BJGally I know what you're saying mate but I have 19" arms through hard work and using good technique, and I'm no bodybuilder, just a guy who likes to work out, be healthy and try to look good. Besides, his technique does suck, there's no way a personal trainer or coach would show this video as an example of how to do these exercises. By the way, have you ever seen Manute Bol dunk? Shocking technique.
@tlee2626 If you are referring to his technique as being poor when he is using a little "cheat" you should check out most pro bodybuilder's videos and you will see the same thing. Using a little swing in some exercises may look novice but to utilize the cheat is an advanced technique. I have been bodybuilding for 10+ years and IMO strict/textbook technique is for beginners to avoid injury.

There's no doubt this guy is in great shape and admittedly I've only been working out for a couple of years but everything I've ever read or watched stresses the importance of your technique being sound. @tlee2626 I think steve knows what he does to get his muscles trained. Some pro's do curls with a hell of weight and a lot of work out of the back, because the muscle is trained better as if they use lower weight. Its cheating, but I think they dont bother about the weight. They bother about how much muscles are growing.
I *try* to be rather strict on most exercises, partly because my right rotator cuff gives me a real headache. But the fact is, a great many freaky big motherfuckers built tremendous size with, at best, "loose" form on any number of exercises.
What the pencilnecks don't understand is that progressive overload's the bottom line. Cheat curling your way from 115 to 225 WILL build some serious biceps.

Like a rolling start for a car. You see this move in every lift. Leg drive with a bench press, moving into a dead lift, ect. The only thing he does wrong that might hurt him in the long run is not extending his arms all the way out on the negative part which might shorten his bicep tendon and lead to a pull...MIGHT
@ProfDippet The truth is that you can use lighter weights and "strict" form and not get as much muscle activation from using a heavier weight and needing to use a little body english. This more of an advanced technique as an experienced lifter will be able to willfully contract their muscles better than a someone new. Also an advanced lifter can listen to their bodies better to see if something they are doing might cause injury.

You can see this easily, if the person looks like they are in control of the weight, they are. If the last rep or two are really hard and you want to use more body english that's fine.
