How are they defining mammals to determine what was the first? Are they equating "first mammal" with most recent common ancestor of all living mammals, or going by some structure (such as the ear? Obviously not soft tissue like the brain)? I wish they went into more detail as to how they qualified the first mammal from some sort of advanced therapsid. Geologists know what parts of the world were most populated as well as what populated areas were most dangerous. If there was a volcano that erupted at the right time, it's almost certain that something would have been killed and buried there. Also, volcanic ash preserves the bones better than basic dirt.

Cheetah is not jaguar nor leopard: no shockingly powerful jaws, not that long teeth, no massive nor powerful body, no sharp claws. Jaguar or leopard would finished me easily. But cheetah is whole different story. Cheetah kills by sufficating its prey. (No spot to bite on the neck, no kill.) Also cheetah has no retractable claws which makes them quite edgeless.
