  • I love reining! I have a Reining mare, She is a reg QH!

  • No matter what discipline you ride your horse can be injured. I started jumping and saw plenty of injuries. I then did gymkhana and at the last show of the season my horse slipped running to the first barrel and fractured her pastern. She healed but was only able to trail ride after that. Now I do jumping and reining and if you train right you won't see injuries in reining but it also depends on how well you prevent injuries. I get my horses joints injected every 6 months or so to prevent injury

  • i love reining but i ride english :)

  • Jeah, reininh ♥ Western Riding is the best!

  • Rhonda, I just found this and I love it <3 I started out Western on my black mare you saw, she was a ball of fire and yes I was big headed to the max:) had lots of friends lots of haters , alot of people bring a back up horse, i never did but figured maybe I should but if something hapened to her omg never mind, never came home empty handed but the NFR is way in Texas, but no first place, but a second silver and other goodied YES!!!, Thanks Rhonda so much, you know where this is going:)

  • @Pretender771 Thankyou!__sounds like you had some good times!

  • It's to bad that it kills the horses legs..

  • @fancysparkles That's true--but then so can barrel racing, pole bending or any other activity involving high impact on bone, tendon and muscle.

  • @rhondasmy08 Yes. Like jumping. Even Dressage can hurt horses badly if not riden and trained correctly. I know that. I love horse sports, all of them, I just hate that horses end up having short lifes because of that.

  • @fancysparkles You've summed it up in the words "ridden & trained correctly".

Eventing was my thing, and then latterly just dressage,so you're preaching to the converted about the dangers of injury :)

  • @rhondasmy08 I barrel race. i have never seen a major injury. im not trying to be mean or start anything i am just saying english can hurt them too (:

  • @BarrelBrooke No offence taken--all equestrian sports have the potential for injury, minor and major :)

  • @fancysparkles Never hurt mine, not one bit she was loveing it and we did all Gymkhanna events, if she ever sliped or injured her self I would have put the breaks on and pulled out for good!!

  • @fancysparkles Any decent person who owns/trains reining horses is NOT doing this on their horse daily once they have the maneuvers down. Even when they are training at my barn they take special care to not "over do it". Most "issue" come from breeding and conformation. If your horse isn't build to drive it's going to have in increase chance of stress related issus. If your horse is long in the pastern their jumping career may not last long. I see jumping as WAY worse on the joints.

  • I'm addicted to this kind of horse ride!

  • @OhMaary ; I'm not ;)

  • love the song and video! I ride both English and Western. I've ridden some pretty high end reining horses in lessons for both, but never actually got into reining, sadly. :[

  • @kirstloveshorses Thankyou!

  • Um... When you ride a horse dont you use a small black saddle with A double bridle???? And dont you and the horse dance???? I am SO CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And what is Western... Isnt english the only way to ride???? AGAIN SO CONFUSED!!!!!!

  • @megadogtor An "English" saddle [though it's used all over Europe & UK] is small but everyday riding & training is done with single reins & snaffle bit;double bridle is compulsory for higher level dressage competition."Western" is a stlye of riding unique to USA but is increasingly popular worldwide.

  • @rhondasmy08 Thanks oh my god you just saved my mind from being blown
