I noticed a day or so before the shrimp molted it's color would be more pink than normal. So when i noticed the pink coloration I put my camera by the tank and payed more attention to the shrimp. It was luck that I was able to catch the actual molt as it was happening.
how long did it take for his shell to start hardening again?

Great timing! how do you know when they are molting? I see al skin in my tank but miss the exact moment everytime. and how often do they do it?
