  • Is the "mirror universe" not the real universe?

  • I'd pay to see this

  • Its all fun and games until a Vulcan gets a shotgun blast to the chest.

  • WHy wouldn't you say "A Voyage Home" for Voyager?

  • DON'T RAPE GALACTICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Vote Democrat for a peaceful future.

  • We're already heading that way except, it will all be here on earth. ON PAPER, the U.S.A. is the most despotic and tyrannical nation in history. Only the calculated restraint of enforcement makes the illusion of freedom appear to exist.

The only cool high tech stuff that will exist will be to oppress the masses. It won't be glamorous or fun. Women will be taught to oppress men at every turn and parents will fear their spawn. Tyranny and cruelty will permeate all things because it is privatized.

  • @InfiniteMushroom LMAO this is funny. The Government cant control people unless they let them.

  • @MASTERARTGOD Refuse to pay your property taxes, income taxes, drive without a driver's license, or refuse to be treated like a prisoner before boarding an airliner... and see how government controls you. In America, tyranny is privatized or done by creating conditions that restrict our access to the benefits of modern civilization.

Too many people are looking for cartoon-simple acts of oppression when government is vastly more sophisticated than that.

  • Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

  • Quick question: Where did you get the clip of the NX, Andorian, and Vulcan ships flying into the Federation Seal... I've been trying to find it, and don't know what/where it's from?

  • @EmergencyMedHologram It was something I created for this vid. I took the clip of the ships and faded it into the seal.

  • @Fonjil Thats awesome!

  • @Fonjil Are you sure you created it?

  • @Fonjil I find it strange that you claim you made it for this video, when the exact same clip appears in a video posted a year before this one. Take a look at 1:16 in watch?v=80_HKdvNhgA&list

  • @Fonjil fucking nice man

  • @EmergencyMedHologram the clip is from the 40 anniversairy tribute of startrek...

  • Every one 4 gets about Barkly when he became a Super Genius and made that contraption that took them to the Super Being's . why did thy pic Barockly. Who where thy y didn't th y give them some knowledge of who the Borg where ( They know ) How long hav thy ben. How did thy start? why didn't thy get any new Teck inprovements faster ships with all the goodies and of course weapons to defeat the Borg .Does Q know them Do thy know Q do they get along. y don't thy send d Borg bac or just destory them

  • I think that is all B.S. IMO every S.T. Fan has Idea's of there own and there are prob alot of good stories that every one has thought of . IMO there has to be a little more supense and chacter info who is this guy where did he come from what does he bring 2 the table ( as in being part of the crew ship ( why or how was the Borg made . And after all this time why doesn't the (Fed) up graded there weapones there almost throwing sticks n stone

  • No. Though the music is lovely and the imaging excellent, what's reflected here is sadly what we have now on this planet. Star Trek has for me always offered the alternative we should strive to be. We really need THAT better alternative right now. Too bad there isn't a current, fresh new Trek on tv right now while we really need an uplift.

  • @covekayak There will never be a "fresh" new television version of Trek as long as Paramount keeps Berman and Braga onboard. It would be the same crap we got with Voyager and Enterprise. I'd like to see what J. Michael Strazinski could do with a Trek series. A Trek with good character development, good story writing, story arcs that last longer than a season or less and that still represents what Trek was meant to be would be awesome.

  • @Fbueller129

Totally agree with your comment regarding Berman and Braga. Never felt like they really "got" Trek. Good character development, good story writing... yes, and also that underpinning Trek optimism. Optimism especially seems lacking in the B and B approach.

  • @covekayak I don't know, the whole journey home thing in Voyager had the Trek optimism as the Starfleet and Maquis crews worked together to overcome the obstacles faced in the Delta quadrant. That said, they did balls up a lot of good story arcs. Maybe they missed the point of the complaints about DS9 and thought that people didn't want continued plotlines?

  • @Fbueller129 Trek with character development, good writing, continuity / story arcs - Wow ! What a concept. 1 nitpick I had about Voyager, specifically, was that the ship looked as fresh as the day they left in pursuit of the Maquis from DS9. There's a lack of continuity right there. There was also minimal conflict, nothing that couldn't be solved in 35 to 40 mins an episode, unlike B5 & revised BSG.

  • @WhiteSerpentz not enough pylons...

  • Why does it have the Battlestar Galactica theme song?

  • Oh yes, because stupid vapid ignorant and retarded characters like Captain Archer and his ilk are exactly what Trek fans are begging for.

  • What's with the Battlestar Galactica theme?

  • What's sad, is we actually do live in the alternate universe.

  • @eyeofbast

    Haha, true

  • @eyeofbast don't be that sad... the human adventure didn't even began

  • The "what if" series does exist in book form. Look up "Star Trek: Myriad Universes"

  • Wow! Very cool!

  • WIN. Pure frakkin win.

  • That was great.

  • That was one of the coolest things that I've seen posted!!! VERY WELL DONE!! The vidoe and the music were pefectly done!! 5 STARS!!!

  • Take a vote, who wants a series based in the alternate universe.

  • @renardthatch I do.

  • @renardthatch

The Alternate Universe barely made for an interesting Enterprise story arc.

  • @SoraTheHappyEmo. Meh, I think its more realistic then the lets all get along prime universe.

  • @renardthatch

Let's not get started on Realism and Star Trek.

  • @SoraTheHappyEmo Your right, lets ignore cellphones and GE's portable ultrasound scanner, aluminum oxynitride (transparent aluminum), GPS, language translators, and the experimental directed energy weapons the military has... all that aside I was talking about being less huggy kissy and more nitty gritty.... maybe not professional like a military ship but certainly more serious. (Incidentally I don't exactly care for enterprise myself.)

  • @renardthatch

I'm talking ignoring the laws of physics, thermodynamics and generally spitting in the face of science in general. What you're talking about is the cultural impact of Star Trek, which is something different than the series' constant disobedience of real-world science and pseduo-science words like "subspace", which means nothing in real life.

How about the stupendously stupid plots? The borg control HOW many systems and send /one/ ship to the Alpha quadrant?

  • @SoraTheHappyEmo

How about in Star Trek: Nemesis when the Remans board the Enterprise E? Why didn't Riker shout "Computer! Increase lights by 100%!" and blind them all? Why didn't Data beam a bomb into the Scimitar's thaleron matrix if he knew where it was? Or how about in Enterprise, where the Borg show up despite TNG outright STATING that The Borg had /never/ been encountered (and this was a MAJOR point in the first borg episode - Q was very stressing of that).

  • @SoraTheHappyEmo

How about the Federation's technology? If Star Trek is so advanced, how come half the episodes rely on the ship's technology failing to work due to environmental interference?

"Captain, the ionization of the (insert location here) is blocking our (sensors/weapons/transporters/tractor beams/coffee pots)."

Don't get me wrong - I love Star Trek to pieces. But is it realistic at all? Well... here's a line from Insurrection.

  • @SoraTheHappyEmo

Child to data: If you don't sleep, how do you stay awake?

Data: My power cells recharge themselves continuously.

YES FOLKS, APPARENTLY IN THE 24TH CENTURY, THEY HAVE FOUND PERPETUAL ENERGY.

YET REFUSE TO USE IT IN ANYTHING BUT A TIN MAN.

  • Both Ent and ST:N where crap. I wanted them to be good. Ent improved the last season by bringing Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens, writers of some great Trek novels and behind "Gargoyles" which along with "Batman: The Animated Series" redefined "kids" animation in the U.S into something for adults to enjoy. Unfortunately daytime animation has disintegrated into mindless crap. save for "The Clone Wars" (which still could be a lot better) I hate Anasoka. 1000x more annoying then Jar Jar.

  • @renardthatch

Oh I agree with you there. Star Trek's original six motion pictures fluctuated in quality, but 2 and 6 nailed the claustrophobic, almost submarine like quality of a warship and damnit there were no civillians onboard either.

  • @SoraTheHappyEmo As with all stories it has holes I'll admit, whenever I watch star trek I always look more to the gadgets then the actual characters/story. I guess I like the more Naval approach when it comes to star ship shows. Combine Trek with Battlestar Dramatica subtract the intense drama and you land somewhere in the middle where it can be realistic and futuristic at the same time. But also, you have to admit that we don't know whats out there so we don't know whats realistic, yet.

  • @renardthatch

Of course but when doing analysis, you use what knowledge is available and try to translate whatever the show is demonstrating into what we know now. With Star Trek this leads to less-than stellar results.

I've heard wonders about BSG. Is it really that good?

  • @SoraTheHappyEmo Yes actually, intense character drama and plot. Mostly realistic, real space physics except for sound. XD Fair warning though the end is hit or miss with some people.

  • @SoraTheHappyEmo If you want "Cylons" that look like supemodels giving Baltar blow-jobs then you'd love it. Not for me. Check out the Foundation Imaging trailer for Singer/DeSanto's BSG to see what a bad-ass Cylon would be. I watch Space-Opera for action and epic confrontations. Luke Vs. Vader, Kirk vs. Khan. Adama (Lorne Greene) Vs. Baltar (John Calicos). Commander Cain (the one with a penis who picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue) Vs. The Entire Cylon Empire.

  • Oh and Picard Vs The Borg. Drop the ball there...

  • @renardthatch no i have enough of it in reality

  • @renardthatch which of the billions of star trek alternate universes? =D

  • @renardthatch As long as Brannon Braga and Rick Berman stay the hell away!

  • @renardthatch i think the alternate universe the person killed the vuclan the humans raids the ship in first contact

  • @renardthatch or settled in the 29th century

  • Yeah at first i thought this was going to be another boring intro with another series' theme... but that second part was pretty good!

  • Very nice. The Voyager clips were particularly well chosen, I remember the first time seeing "Living Witness" and thinking it was the mirror universe.

  • @LordRichardRahl I already knew it was only an historic false, but I thought immediatly "It looks like the mirror universe!"

  • I love all the mirror universe episodes. They should make a whole series based in the mirror universe. It would be epic.

  • @xderDoktor It wouldn't work. It'd be like having a TV series based on Q. Sure it's good for an episode or two here and there, but a whole series based on it would make the subject get old very quickly.

  • Brilliant! The best use of the BSG theme in a crossover video ever.

  • Wow, good Video 5*

  • A great synopsis of the 'Dark Mirror' Universe!

  • Nicely put together with the what if

  • All hail the mighty Terran Empire.

  • HAIL THE EMPERROR !

  • @Bebbe88 May it never fall.

  • @Bebbe88 All hail Empress Sato :3

  • hahaha. the Terran Empire. thats awesome.

  • At first I thought this video was going to be boringly done... but it was the twist that was really awesome and it was well designed to fit the music. Probably one of the more creative uses of BSG music I've seen. Extra kudos for balancing the each series against each other, too! Great video!

  • Where'd it go?

  • not instead ...it predates the constitution by like a hundred years... and no, its canon whether you like it or not

  • Really good 5/5

  • And you like Sci-Fi...marry me
