looking back at these guys in their prime, you could see that they were so vibrant & full of life. to see how they have aged over the years is not only frightening, but shows the road that we all must travel. viewing these vids recapture the youthfulness of these guys, & reinforce memories that we would rather keep of these superstars.
@Azorka64 Too bad America is like it is huh ? This great society with it's cars, exhaust, highways etc is what made it possible for people like you to go globe trotting. How would you have gotten there.
Bad management PLUS he probably wouldn't listen if he had the BEST MANAGER IN THE WORLD. Trying to tell someone what's the best thing for them to do is like talking to the wall often times.
Late 60's and 70's rocked. This song is about universal love and acceptance for your brother no matter who they are. Words to live by. Sly was an artist- way ahead of his time.. Loved the song in 1968 and love it more now!
@caulinrocker1 Sly sold the rights to his songs to MJ. That's why you heard EVERYDAY PEOPLE in that car commercial a few years back. I was in radio for many years and a record promotion man for MGM records for quite a few years. Thanks
RIGHT ON !!! Love this very DANCEABLE RECORD. Sly was a GENIUS and like most GENIUSES he fell off the edge. Makes me wish I was "back on the air" somewhere.
This is coming from a Conservative, Sly Stone and his "family" while not perfect at least made the effort at getting along racially. Both major political parties and many Churches could learn a few things,
@mrains100 They were doing it for THE MONEY. Didn't work THEY BROKE UP. Sly was a genius and like most geniuses crossed the line into stupidity/insanity. FANTASTIC TALENT poof gone with the wind
@bigwillietheb You are right. I was 11 when this song was new on the radio, so I caught the end of the 60s and all of the 70s. But the 80s was a great decade for music too, pretty much start to finish, full of memorable songs. But with the coming of MTV in 1981, the 80s was actually also the beginning of the end of good music.

@Azorka64 Yes, my friend. The late winter of 1968-69 (Jan-feb 69) ... it was a glorious time. Great music was everywhere (even on the AM dial).

@57highland You got that right. You had to be pretty enough FIRST OFF to be on MTV. Before MTV anybody
from any small town in America could make a hit record.
