  • God this song is incredible, too bad I can't find any footage of them playing it live. :(

  • Caught Ray Davies last night in CLE and had me referencing the groups whose music I bought in the 60s. Steve Marriott was amazing live and Ronnie Lane and he were as prolific as McCartney/Lennon. Next to Keith Richards, they were my favorites. Time was you couldn't buy their music in CLE. Peace. 10-7

  • he inspired me to sing , & show that short people can blast out some of the best songs ever .... cheers steve x

  • all or nothing!

  • One of their very best!

  • Awesome, incomparable drumming. A master class in percussion if ever there was one.

  • for fuck sake...how come this classic only got to 38 in 1968....no juctice.

  • @nffc1971 massive thump up matey!

  • This one has it all. An iconic band at their absolute apogee.

  • Ha ha ha, I'm hearing this for the first time : ) : ) Steve, you should not have quit and stuck it out, it would've have gotten better regardless of punk rock, would've sailed right on over them.

  • Great band. Brilliant singer. Fantastic style

  • God this is brilliant. Steve's got soul.

  • Love to see this live

  • outstanding track. rip stevie and ronnie. London still kicks it, but not as hard as when these guys were with us.

  • My fave ever single bar none. Loved the SFs and Stevie and this takes me back to special times in 68 when I was a 15 yr old kid

  • Quiet Riot verson is exelnt

  • Probably my favourite song !!!Have just watched a documentary about the band on Sky.So moving to listen to Kenny and Macs memories!!!This takes me way back and means so much to me.Thanks for posting!xx

  • smallfaces9 rememberTALENT NEVER DIES

  • Steve's voice comes unfiltered from his soul.

  • I'm convinced this is the first power ballad ever. And despite the fact that many power ballads that followed it suck, I mean this as a compliment

  • The Small Faces are very underrated, well, especially Steve Marriott, the singer

  • Im 13, and im a girl, people think im weird for loving these amazing people.. but their music is brilliant, unlike these days where it is all about sex and all their tracks are computer generated! in fact.. most of their songs are copied, and all they have bothered to do is change the lyrics! 60's was the real soul of music!

  • @smallfaces9 You've got bloody good taste!

  • @TheRickynow Thanks, it is true though :)

  • @smallfaces9 I'm not quite as young as you, I'm 21 but also get the same reaction and it can be so patronising too. You just have a great taste and it's better than simply following the crowds but not really enjoying it.

  • @Goonerette89 move to liverpool, only 60s music is acceptable round here

  • @clownfoot5 I bet. I would actually as it's one of my favourite cities and has a bit of a history of great music doesn't it :D

  • @smallfaces9 Someone so young that knows talent when they hear it, God bless ya. R I P Steve and Ronnie.

  • @smallfaces9 It is so great to see someone your age and gender enjoy some of the best music ever created. I have hope for the future. I never got to see the Faces live, but did see Humble Pie 3 times. Steve Marriot was a little guy with a huge , talen, heart and voice. RIP Steve. Thanks for all the great memoriies.

  • @smallfaces9 i have loved them since i was 10 i got so much crap at school for loving the beatles ,the doors, fleetwood mac and the kinks to mention a few, be proud to be you and never follow the crowd your a minority but your life will be filled with wonderfull things, and your a much richer person for it. Always be you a true friend will let you be yourself and you will never have to pretend to be one of the sheep so they dont think your "wierd" i wish there were more kids like you. love marie

  • @smallfaces9 Re sex in music: I always thought this song was about the post-orgasm "afterglow", and the incredible feelings of tenderness one has then with a lover. But you're right -- the "music" being fed to your generation is complete garbage. At least you have the impossibly rich archives of 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s music to draw from, thanks to YouTube. Hope you enjoy your trip into the great sounds of the past.

  • @smallfaces9 isn't this song about sex?

  • @anthonythirteen

    haha yes

  • @smallfaces9 don't sell your own generation short so easily. every decade has its share of great music and its share of crap. we just tend to remember the good stuff and quietly push the crap out of our memories. you just have to spend a little time hunting for the good stuff. that makes it better in the end though, like discovering gold in your own backyard.

  • outstanding

  • this is, like, perfect. a perfect rock song. i've heard it with out that intro and can take or leave that.

  • one of the very best!

  • rest in peace Blimp you uncovered this gem

  • Best band of the 60's, and the Beatles can kiss my Ash. Steve was the most talented, and most authentic artist in rock ever. I wish I could have met him. RIP. God Bless Steve and Ronnie. I hope they're up there.

  • i was once lucky enough to have met him, and the others, great lads!!!

  • better singer than paul weller, and 'real' mods, my mum lived down the road from him in the 6t's fancied him something rotten lol my fav band bar none, nice to see youngsters appreciating them good on you lads

  • that last rest in peace thing, i was thinking about steve and ronnie all through the song while seeing those pictures :)

i will never forget them, even tough i'm 17, like age matters :P

  • one of best ever exercises in how to sing soul

  • Isn't there a longer version of this song? I heard it on a British rock comp from the States. Anybody know where you can get it on vinyl?

  • I think the song is a little longer on the 45 like in the other video after the drum ending on this video it goes into the fazed out guitar part of the next song [on the lp].

  • Whadda whadda whadda voice!

    In my TOP 5 songs.

  • Words and music by S. Mariott / R. Lane. Licensed 1968 by Avakak Songs Ltd - London.
