I love Kirk. He's not the greatest guitar player around, and neither is Dave, but they're both legends in the thrash metal world. Hard to pick one. RTL definitely gives me goosebumps whenever the tapping intro comes on. Oh my.. But I definitely seem to be closing my eyes more and going with the melody of Dave's solos more often than Kirk's. And My Last Words, oh man, that just gets my heart racing.
Nice to finally see a comparison video between these two giants where it's not completely ONE SIDED to one of them... Both guitarists here are given 3 songs each, all great songs, all great solos, some of their best work. Definitely a fair comparison. Love it!! Love that Ride the Lightning solo, it's just incredible. But My Last Words really is one of the greatest heavy metal solos of all time...

Dave wrote great solos in Megadeth and he wrote all of them for the first 2 albums. His solos didn't sound that great when he was in Metallica though. Kirk does suck. He frequently plays out of key and not in the proper outside way too, he just sucks so bad that he plays out of key a lot and everybody knows he is a wah-wah whore.
