  • i got about halfway through this and my dog started having a nightmare!

  • Thanks.

I managed to track the film down. Very retro, but there's some amazing footage and it provides an interesting insight into the sport.

The crashes section is still my favourite though!

  • What documentary is it taken from?

    Amazing footage and soundtrack.

  • Its from a video i think called "la course en tete" made in 1973 or thereabouts.

The music is David Munrow - Renaissance Suite.

  • the black and white stuff reminds me of old war footage, its really powerful

  • I hurt just watching this!!

  • When I raced as a junior from 1980 to 1983 I was mesmerized by La Course En Tete.

A few of the Cat 1&2 racers in Santa Cruz, used to rent the Scotts Valley Cinema and show this film. I especially remembered the crash sequence, it's hard to see on streaming video, but the part where the dog gets run over used to haunt me. That happened to my brother once on a training ride while going about 45 mph down hill. I was right behind him, unable to do anything about it.

  • Oh man, you raced in Europe?! You're my hero!!
