My first car was a 1998 mustang v6 spec about 150-160 hp With 220 lbs of torques not a fast car but very repliable same motor of the Ford windstar ... My father got 150000 miles With the original motor ...
i really do not understand how ford could produce such an underpowered 3.8 liter v6....my gf's 94 accord ex has a 4 cylinder 2.2 and produces the same 145 hp as the v6 3.8 mustang does.....something pathetic lol
Actually... I had a 7.2 clocked on my V6 automatic. Flat surface, calm wind. Which is very respectable for a V6, stock auto tranny and heavy convertible top and only a CAI. This is very believable. 7 to 8 seconds is what you should clock on a 3.8L V6 MUSTANG in good shape. :)
@CemetaryGatesML LOL! No sweat, it's okay. Most of us have a life out of YouTube. lol. By the way, you can hold the gear, but don't downshift. That's how I ended up needing a new transmission. Them 4R70W transms. aren't fun to pay for. Even though I put mine myself.
@mossmanw hurricane earl was weak here lol i think down hill would be more of a better choice... but 10 seconds isn't bad vor a v6 auto 3000lbs car. manual v6 stangs can do 0-60 in 8
im looking at a 1994 V6 Mustang with 175000kms, other than the bad head gasket is there anything else that is majorly wrong with the 94-95 mustangs that i should consider? nice car BTW
@mitch9521 The transmissions. There is something called a J-Mod or Jerry Mod. It only costs a little money to get someone to do it or you can find the article on TCCoa under the 'Transmission' category and give it a try if you have the skill to do it. If you plan on keeping the car for a long time you may want to look into upgrading different areas of the car. Suspension is a good place to start.

@MrSTANGlover according to a speed trap machine, i got 0-60 in 6.9 seconds with a 1994 V6 mustang.
all i did was build up my revs, hold the break, launch in first gear, shift into second gear at about 5000 rpm
and ride 2nd gear till i hit 60.

@CemetaryGatesML
That makes sense if you had a manual tranny. :)
Mine's auto... if tuned for performance, I'd probably slam into high 6's.

The title of this video should be "1996 Ford Mustang V6 (0-60 Downhill)", because you were either going downhill or had hurricane Earl at your back.
