The whistle actually was blown a second or two after the puck went in the net.

The rulebook states that the play is over when the ref makes the decision to blow the whistle; not when the whistle is actually blown. That's why the goal didn't count.

STL had power play after power play to end the game and they couldn't. 1/24 on the PP simply isn't good enough.

If the call was made in a seventh game I could see people being upset; but this was a 4 game sweep. The better team won; simple as that.
