  • It ends so abrutly! Ouch! But thank you its beautiful.

  • *************************************

  • Too bad the video and the sound are not in synch; :-(

I think Maestro Bohm's tempo is perfect, and I like the singing too.

  • fantastic music, fantastic singing, but for me "Cosi" always is boring in a negative sophisticated way. I watched a performance from Sweden recently and it was so "wanna-be" ...

  • @bloydaage Not Mozart's problem, is it?

  • @malil100 Thats right!

  • 3:01-3:17 is absolute heaven! It's one of those moments when Mozart's music transcends any nameable emotion, the closest possibly being pure bliss. Thanks for posting this!

  • 0:56 Soave Sia Il Vento

  • The music and the singing are wonderful.

    The stageing just Kitsch.

  • Certified Intergalactic! The finest "Soave sia il vento"! Bravissimo Janowitz, Ludwig, Berry!

  • Great voices.

    Böhm Mozart expert.

    Beautiful orchestral playing.

Wedding cake set, but there is blue sky, a horizon and a southern Italy Balcony with a sea breaze.

What more could you ask for?

  • Amazing! Mozart gets more into three minutes than Wagner does into three hours!

  • Which three hours in particular?

    More of what?

  • @1401JSC any 3 hours.

  • @kenedwards5 It seems that people who like Mozart suffer from complexes. One could be proud to enjoy Mozart without them.

  • ...troppa cipria...W Muti!

  • Yes it seems impossible to find another rendering as fine as this one. Yet there is one IMO: Karita Mattila, von Otter, Van Dam, Marriner & ASMF: on amazon, try "Soave sia il vento Mattila" and chose "Mozart for the Millennium" (14 arias by purest sopranos - *devastating* beauty), "More Mozart for Mothers-to-Be" (idem but SATB), "Mozart: The Greatest Hits" (idem but 2-CD, orchestra pieces and arias): you can buy all three, I *promise* you won't regret.

  • For any unknown man, doing nothing in his entire life but writing this tiny 3-minute piece of music, would be enough to become an immense composer forever (yet for Mozart it was just 1/50 of his work No588...). Myriads sang it, from the most beautiful and renowned artists (as here) to the small unknown amateurs, it is always heaven.

  • Well struck!

  • @Merlin: Agreed!

The beauty and "layers" of Cosi Fan Tutte is beyond words and unsurpassed.. (In these my ears, eyes and soul..)

Eyes Wide Shut, multiple reflections of love, perception and reality through a kalejdoscope; constantly switching btw irony, cynicism, serenity, faith and devotion. And beauty that is otherwordly.

Listen to "Soave il Vento" and .... enjoy the silence...

  • great cast. mozart is great.

  • Is there anybody who can tell me where to get this recording on dvd?

  • I do believe that we can't hear music on this level today.

  • these are two excellent sopranos that marked an era on the 20th century, long live mozart

  • Not quite! One Soprano (Fiordiligi) and one Mezzosoprano (Dorabella). And don't forget Don Alfonso, the Baritone

  • Not quite! One's a soprano (Fiordiligi) and the other's a mezzosoprano (Dorabella). Not forgetting Don Alfonso, the Baritone

  • Una grabación maravillosa. Con cosas como ésta echas mucho de menos el pasado...

  • What a marvelous performance. So much better than all the 'new singers'. This is real singing. The greatest singers of all time together.

  • Thus is a great recording of this aria!!! The voices are very much in tune and together.

  • Beautyful I love this aria
