everytime me and my boyfriend have this playfull-tasted calling-names-moment, I always use Hoffman´s lines, since my boyfriend has a bit of fucking conservative-feel to himself, he hates gaypeople, is nazi-type..etc Those lines Rusty yells are just so PERFECT! xD

I just watched it again and you can see the anguish, so wonderfully portrayed by DeNiro, after he sings "Me". You can see the hearbreak in his face! Such great acting!

Have you noticed that, after he sang "Me", he couldn't sing anymore? Very telling and a wonderful plot mitivation. He's still afraid of himself, in so many ways, that he hates himself for "failing", which he didn't do anyway. Greatness on the part of the director and screenwriter!

Philip Syemour Hoffman...what can you say, but Flawless.  He is the broadest, most pliable actors of our time, and one of the most of all time. This guy does every concievable role, and he does them all brilliantly.
