  • @Zeppelintroll69

    1. buy a dictionary

    2. look up "irony"

  • @Zeppelintroll69 I da be um broke done spents alzz me cash on crack.

  • @arna11420 You're an idiot. Trains are far more efficient than jets. The only reason trains are poorly regarded in the U.S. is that we don't invest enough in them. Look at France or Britain or Germany or Japan and tell me their trains aren't an excellent, brilliant way to travel. We, collectively, suck.

  • @ShrikeArghast Can't you see I was trolling as a right winger. How over the top should I be so the irony is clear. Well, I guess much more, as they're getting crazier by the minute. And I love trains.

  • @arna11420 Poe's law.

  • @arna11420 Concidering the vast ammount of stupid fucking rightwingers.... I don't think any stupid opinion is stupid enough for me to call trollshit =P

  • @ShrikeArghast We don't invest more in them because moving people in this huge country is dramatically different than in the tiny countries you named. Most passenger rail operations around the world are taxpayer funded. Personally I do not want any of my money going to subsidize passenger trains. Those trains should run at a profit or go away.

  • @ShrikeArghast

Germany trains exellent and brilliant way to travel? I'm sorry, but the German trains last summer had massive problems with the air conditioning. Especially the ICE, in all types.

It had many people through light and heavy heat damage.

And last winter they had to fight hard with the weather.

Not to mention the reliable lateness of the DB entirely.

And there are enough things in the DB would have to be more than just improved.

I should know, because I am from Germany.

  • @ShrikeArghast We are not a collective society. we are a society of individuals. Collectivism is for socialist rags

  • @ShrikeArghast France, Britain and Japan are very small countries when compared to US ;)

  • @ShrikeArghast The trains in the UK suck compared to the rest of Europe. The cost of a ticket is often prohibitively expensive and driving is often cheaper even with the high fuel prices here. If there is two or more of you making the journey going by road is always cheaper.

  • @ShrikeArghast

    Well said

  • @ShrikeArghast Trains are for socialist peasants to ride next to smelly bumbs and be packed in like mice and told where to stop and where to go by the government.

This is America, we fly in jets wherever we want. Trains are nice for local systems like a subway but for long distance they are far more expensive per passenger than any jet.

A train ticket from Tokyo to Yokohama (like 400 miles) is about 1000 bucks US dollar. To fly it on a jet its about 220 US dollars. You just suck.

  • @2204Alpha In my country I travel free in the train because I am a student plus tickets aren't so expensive in my country. I'm from Rotterdam the netherlands

  • @Miemand YES AND EVRYBODY SMOKE GANJA EVEN DRIVER

  • @BRRUUUAAHHable only the addicts ;) which I'm luckly not

  • @2204Alpha A train ticket would be 50$USD and a plane ticket 850$usd

  • @2204Alpha spot on

  • @ShrikeArghast You're an idiot. Look at the size of the US and the size of Germany. How much time would it take to go from Hamburg to Frankfurt by train? How much time would it take to go from New York to Los Angeles by train? You, simply, suck.

    PS: you are a moron.

  • @ShrikeArghast Our trains are overpriced shit. But yes many people do use them here in the UK :)

  • @ShrikeArghast Yes Trains are more efficient, But in the US where efficiency plummets and speed is in high demand planes rule. after all you cant cross the country in a day on a train.

  • @ShrikeArghast The US is extremely larger than all of those countries you mentioned combined. You may suck, but don't say we, I'm not with you on this shit. I don't need a fucking train or a plane.

  • @rebelnomo China is larger than the USA and they are investing heavily on long-distance high-speed rail.

  • @kkobayashi1 Wrong, China is not larger than the US, google it.

  • @rebelnomo Go to Wikipedia and look up "list of countries by total area" and "list of countries by land area", China is larger than the US by both definitions.

  • @kkobayashi1 No shit dumbass, I just wanted to see if I could get you to waste your time. hahahaha it worked.

  • @kkobayashi1 But their population density is much much higher, they nearly 4 times as many people.

  • @kkobayashi1 @kkobayashi1 Totally wrong, the United States are bigger than China. But China just has just a bigger population. You should also know that China pays its high-speed rails by the help of the taxes of the most poor people there. China is a stupid state with extremely much corruption and a dictatorship.

  • @worldofcallofduty Im american and for all of us please stop talking... Your making us look stupid.

  • @p6a9u1l42 no your doing a really good job of that all by your lonesome..... :/

  • @p6a9u1l42 pretty sure your not

    your a spy

  • @p6a9u1l42 you all are....

  • @HIVOLTAGEZzz Yes, because even though we won against the British in the Revolution, defeated the Germans AND Japanese in WW2, and defeated Iraq makes us stupid. If anything it's the dumbass over weight people with no jobs and live with their parents eating mcdonalds and playing Xbox that make us look stupid. Shut the fuck you dumbass.

  • @rollercoasterfreak36 I was kidding tho.

  • @HIVOLTAGEZzz I wasn't... except the dumbass part, I'm just tired of hearing how stupid we are.

  • @p6a9u1l42 I don't think anybody needs to talk to make American's look stupid.................. they do it for themselves!. lol

  • @worldofcallofduty so not in any way like the US?

  • @kkobayashi1 yes because it's the cheapest way to move billions of people.

  • @kkobayashi1 what the hell does that have to do with this video?!

  • @kkobayashi1 and the USA in investing more long-distance flights and aircraft

  • @ShrikeArghast Trains were awesome in this country until 1971 when Amtrak fucked us all over.

  • @360Nomad Passenger trains in North America in the 60's thru the 70's were horrible, unprofitable, always late and pathetic. Freight railroads were forced to run them, so they did the best they could to run them into the ground. (With a few exceptions).

Amtrak today runs far better trains than those run in the 60's and 70's. I am not a fan of long distance passenger service in North America, but I am old enough to remember those older pre-Amtrak operations.

  • @Boss302fan Amtrak still only provides 1/3 of the rail service that it's predecessors did.

  • @360Nomad Absolutely. The private freight railroads ran more miles because they were regulated and forced by our government to move unprofitable trains. Had they been given a choice they would almost universally bailed out altogether. In the last 20 years the trains and service was terrible. Amtrak does a far better job. And I am no fan of Amtrak.

  • @ShrikeArghast at germany not .. our trains are about 2 hours to late everytime :D

  • @ShrikeArghast Here in Britain the train is generally not an excellent way to travel; the fares are very high (and set to get even higher) reliability is poor, and the peak time trains are very overcrowded on many routes; every day 10,000's of people have to stand for tens of miles on their daily commute.

  • @ShrikeArghast ...I'm a brit... our trains here are shit... overcrowded sometimes... very expensive to travel on and fares are set to rise even higher! France... Germany... Japan... seem to have a faster... cleaner... cheaper rail travel system! You're saying there isn't enough investment in the states... well thats the problem in the UK and thats why our Government decided the rail system here needs more investment to upgrade the lines... but guess who pays for it?!

  • @4crevis yep they are expensive ..a ticket from NYC to Miami $255 roundtrip by Amtrak $175 roundtrip by jet blue ..i fly ..

  • @miltonsava ... Yeah know what you mean flying is definately cheaper! I could fly London to Spain £40 round trip with Easyjet! Almost the same distance as NYC to Miami! Approx $65!

  • @ShrikeArghast And the US is 2x as big as ALL of Europe. You can cross ALL of Europe in a 1 or 2-day train trip. Not quite as simple to go NY to LA, is it?

  • @ShrikeArghast Thank you Sir...

Yeah, trains are one of the most efficient way to travel!

  • @ShrikeArghast birtain lol, thats a funny one, im from there, i can officially say our trains are crap and ontime is like a myth, only more mythical lol

  • @arky3000 I'm from Britain and being a student rely on Trains and other public transport. The trains I catch are rarely late and I have no problems with them. Usually the time you see on the screen isn't actually the booked time as they are all spaced so that every train has a few minutes where it is able to catch up by time it reaches its terminating point.

  • @ShrikeArghast Look at France or Britain or Germany or Japan and tell me their trains aren't an excellent, brilliant way to travel. LOLOLOL you have not been on a train in the UK then, ok if you live close to big city , we have a train station in this town but many that go the 130 miles to London DRIVE 45 miles to Peterborough station to save many hours and train swaps

  • @ShrikeArghast The last time i almost went on a train was over 20 years ago, wonted 1 way from London to skegness, it was going to cost £78 for the 2 of us. so i buy a old fiat 132 for £100 with 6 month tax and test used it for the 6 month and a big thumbs up when i sold it for £50

  • @ShrikeArghast Go move to one of those other countries, you Socialist baby. By the way...trains are slow.

  • @randommagnum Trains are faster and more economic than vehicles, lower emissions for the amount of people or cargo they're transporting. Now compare that to the amount of semi trucks or passenger vehicles it'd take to carry the same amount of cargo/people.

  • @kalereborn Trains are:

    •slower than planes

    •slower than cars intercity

•faster for commuter IF traffic is heavy and IF they go where YOU need to go

•more efficient energy-wise, but less economical for passenger due to other overhead (Amtrak as never turned a profit since '71)

•great for certain freight modes, as the market has shown

•not to be forced where they aren't as viable as other modes of transport

•not to be subsidized at all

  • @randommagnum Trains are above the understanding of idiots like you.

  • @htc6600 Ha! Nice comeback, especially all the points I laid out about trains...one might say that I understand them pretty well, but I guess you'd rather try petty insults than refute any of those points...because you'd fail it you tried. ;)

I guess you probably think that Marxism must be above my understanding too...

    Otherwise, I'd love it, right?

I think you need to go change that red diaper, dood.

  • @randommagnum But it's okay for the Federal government to subsidize the interstate highway system that has never turned a "profit"?

  • @C45ACCTE Actually, the interstate highway system is supported by the highway trust fund (the tax on fuel you pay at the pump) and is usually self-sustaining (well, recently the Obama recession has hit it, but it has a much better track record of being paid for that Amtrak).

Interstate highways facilitate even more freight haulage than freight railroads do, not to mention people. Trucking companies make way more profit than they pay in fuel tax, so in that sense, it turns a huge profit.

  • @C45ACCTE Now let's look at Amtrak... Amtrak doesn't even haul freight to speak of; just mail and people. Even with fare paying passengers, it still needs subsidies from the government...that means people who DON'T ride it still have to pay for it. Normally, only people who use highways pay for them (through fuel tax) and everyone benefits. Amtrak? A money suck for the benefit of a few.

Money spend on freeways is not wasted; money spent on Amtrak is. Get over it.

  • @randommagnum Before I "get over it" I thought I would take you back to school. The government is not a "for profit" venture with a P&L sheet and shareholders to pay off. Government and its many functions serve the public good and which almost by definition aren't profitable. So, if something isn't profitable, then it is subsidized because it serves a greater good. A healthy, functioning and stable national rail service is in the public's interest. You can turn Rush back on now.

  • @C45ACCTE

    "take you back to school."

ROTF Oh this is going to be hilarious...

"So, if something isn't profitable, then it is subsidized..."

...regardless of whether or not it serves the "greater good". It's called PORK.

    "...is in the public's interest."

Why? Why is it in the public interest? Because YOU like trains? Why not say a stage coach system is in the public interest?

Go back to your little red manifesto, comrade.

  • @randommagnum I'm going to concede to your very persuasive and fact-filled argument. I agree with you. We need to shut down all national, state and local parks. PORK! None of them have ever been profitable and have always required a subsidy. Schools are pretty expensive too, and unfortunately we can't charge tuition to first graders. Darn the private sector for not stepping up and taking on these tasks themselves. You, sir, just got Tea Bagged!!

  • @C45ACCTE So, I guess you don't consider ANYTHING to be pork? Oh wait...that's right, I forgot...hehe...THE MILITARY! So wasteful, defending this country...

Trains are not national parks, oh puerile one. Lands in national parks are not going away; they have to be managed for the benefit of citizens (actually, some are desolate wastes that Clinton made simply to lock out ranchers but that's another story). Subsidized passenger service can go away and we'll be just fine. Therefore, it's pork.

  • @C45ACCTE As for schools, the private sector is indeed trying to step up and do a better job, since the highly-partisan public school system is largely a porked-out propaganda machine for the left, but oh, the slugs in the teacher unions don't want that! They hate private and charter schools! They want everyone in the overcrowded and apathetic public system, going for new lows in test scores. Do a youtube search for "john stossel stupid in america"

Speaking of, are you a union parasite?

  • @C45ACCTE "You, sir, just got Tea Bagged!!"

It's really a same when we have an electorate with such foolishness that they would elect a TERMITE to the White House who mocks those who don't want him spending us to death, but calling them "tea baggers"...most un-American POTUS ever.

Look at the train in this video...imagine the engineer has it in run-8 as they careen toward the back of that train, and he mocks the conductor for trying to stop him...that's an Obama engineer.

  • @randommagnum Rubes like yourself make me question how I've been a lifelong Republican, Comrade.

  • @C45ACCTE I don't believe you are a Republican...well, maybe a RINO like Lindsey Graham.

Dude, I love trains. That's why I was watching this video. I've been a railfan all my life...

But I don't let my own interests and feelings tell me what is good policy and what isn't.

Amtrak trains are neat things, but they are bad policy, and that's the most important thing.

  • @randommagnum Not to interrupt your fascinating speech here, but I have firsthand experience with charter schools. The ones that are "doing the best" because they're publicly funded but privately owned. Yeah, I transferred to one of these so-called 'great' schools after being in public school for a number of years, and it was nothing but the same crap, except with enrollment fees. Nobody in this country really cares about educating people in schools. Their idea is, "that's what college is for."

  • @halo9449 Well, that's first-hand testimony from one person, but the big picture tells a different story.

  • @randommagnum Fair enough. But yes, the one that I attended, it's as though most of the staff didn't even try. And when they did try... Well... It was fairly pathetic, to say the least.

  • Comment removed

  • This is why I don't ride amtrak

  • Why Is it always Amtrak . Why Amtrak why.

  • @Amtrak81

Can you think of any other passenger train company in the US?

  • @brygdomin SEPTA, MARC, etc. There are dozens.

  • I want to know the look on the engineer's face when he finally saw a) what was in front of him and b) that it wasn't moving...

  • what happen

  • The other trains don't even care.

  • Ouch

  • dirty jesus who was riving?

  • "Bitch in my parking spot"

  • Ok, and....

  • I remember this. It was all over the news. Happened in Chicago.

  • is it just me? no youtube videos are working... whats going on?

  • @joggingbanana Its just you.

  • thumbs up if that noise at 0:14 scared you ? :0

  • i can only imagine what the engineers were saying loL!!

  • whoops.........

  • The freight trains were being racist towards the passenger train. lol

  • @nmanyo The best thing your train never knew it needed!!!

  • @nmanyo LOL AHHHHH!!!!!! MAN!!!! that SO wrong! In SO many levels!

Now, I will never look at this video the same ever again..... lol..........
