Gatka is very beautiful because it was a form of self defence our ancestors used which secured our existence today.

But our people should also do military training with guns.

real gatka was finished by british coz it was too lethal, morden gatka is useless. hit stick on stick and hit kirpan on shield. and wot all that about the spnining thing and chukin it in air hahaha, wot the hell is dat?

Gatka is a starting point for many youth around the world today, and leads onto pure shaster vidhiyaa and other arts afterwards. A lot of youth nowadays who do learn gatka have very positive jeevan and lead the life of a Gursikh. They have taken amrit, wake up at amrit vela, do nitnem and stay within their rehat. The video of the three singhs which drowned were a fine example of this - this is why sikhs around the world felt hurt when they passed away. One of which were my own cousins.

So maybe gatka isnt the most lethal marshall art there is as you see it, but at least the youth are not wasting their times in other things such as creating youtube channels about themselves and singing ghazals on the vaja through their noses.

the spining thing, is for training the real thing is made out of thick chains and the ends all lighted on fire, and thown at enemies sometimes ther sharp bladed to cut off heads.

Gatka is only exhibition used for training, it work just like simran, the actual thing u have to defeat with that training is panj choor and saveurself from urself, shastar vidya and actual battle formations are taught by nihangs, but according to maharaj hukam we shud be using up-to date arms since Sikhs wer a nation

i thought the extravagant sword spining was used jus wen 1 person is fighting multipul ppl, in which case it wud by extreamly effectiv. ina formation or on horseback such tings wudnt b effectiv (as u wud kill those standing nxt to u) thus its kinda obious that this form is jus 1 part of what sharsta vidya reali is. this is only used wen fighting mutlipul enemies on ur own, and wud hav bin important in the times wen singhs wer outnumbered 1000 to 1.

real sharta vidya i imagin wud b sumin similar to shoalin, uz meditation agilty and explosiv power in fluid motions is wt i invisage as tru sharta vidya, i agree that alot of wt we see nowdays is a very diluted version of tru shasta vidya.

mor needs to b done on the physical aspects of the fighter they need to be able to do gymnastic and increas expolsiv powa n agility etc,... as this wud enable them to perform much betta, especially in the freestyle typ tings

One of teh boys couldn't swim, so the other two when in after him into this river which dropped from 4ft to 21ft very suddenly, they were all arm locked, and cz the one that couldn't swim was panicking, the other two couldn't et him out, so they all drowned together.
