Property tax is the most disgusting tax of all. I mean, some taxes are ok. But owning land and growing crops or having a business on the land, is just what America was establish and built on. If its your land, you shouldn't pay taxes for it.

One thing I do know, the government has always to take land from the owners and resell it to developers. They want the land subdivided and built up so they can tax a bunch of houses instead of one person . I'm sure this was the result of a developer paying a government official to oust the landowner . The officer was making the arrest for "Walking on the highway". Sounds like the gov let him be on the property so long he has a case for adverse posession. But that is a tricky process. The State hired a company to come in and scrap all his parts and that company was causing that contamination and his son contacted the EPA to inform them of what was going on, on the property. What you read on the internet was a local newspaper's rendition, and not the actual events. The media doesn't always get it right. Previous records show there was no contamination prior.

Engines were pulled and put in buildings, as were transmissions, diff's and radiators. If thats done, like it should be, why was their any contamination? The cop totally made an ass out of himself.The state obviously had a hard on for this guy's property.Supposedly the junkyard was not legal for several years(dot epa regs.)He partially blocked that access road with vehicles( violation). I know of a junk yard in marion NC who was told by the EPA to shut down and it's going to take 20 years to clear the cars out of there , they are crushing cars 24/7 and still not putting a dent in it. the state is not stepping in and stealing their property.(vehicles acquired by themselves with their own sweat equity.) while in the same town their are 3 other junk yards with the same amount of vehicles not being harrased

The person's whose property was damaged should seek relief from the person that did the damage, as they can be substantiated.

One thing I do know, the government has always to take land from the owners and resell it to developers. They want the land subdivided and built up so they can tax a bunch of houses instead of one person . I'm sure this was the result of a developer paying a government official to oust the landowner . The officer was making the arrest for "Walking on the highway". Sounds like the gov let him be on the property so long he has a case for adverse posession. But that is a tricky process. The cop totally made an ass out of himself.The state obviously had a hard on for this guy's property.Supposedly the junkyard was not legal for several years(dot epa regs.)He partially blocked that access road with vehicles( violation). The state ordered a 3rd party to remove all of the junk trucks and scrap.All that stuff in the video is gone.He still owns the property.He's back in the truck sales business.He got part of the scrap money,and a clean start.I hope he sues the state hwy dept@police.

I know of a junk yard in marion NC who was told by the EPA to shut down and it's going to take 20 years to clear the cars out of there , they are crushing cars 24/7 and still not putting a dent in it. the state is not stepping in and stealing their property.(vehicles acquired by themselves with their own sweat equity.) while in the same town their are 3 other junk yards with the same amount of vehicles not being harrased

And what right do you have of telling another person what to do with their property? Looks to me like he's the only one around. Last I checked, there are no laws stating you can't have "ugly" property. But disregarding another citizens right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of property would be classed as unconstitutional, as these are the basis of our country. So the way I see it, you are being more of a plague to the community than this gentleman just running a business.

@TrueHaiku used to be a time you could beat the wheels off that pig for trespassing and threatening a man like that on his own property and nothing would have happened. I can't believe he actually turned around and went downtown so easily. cops have supervisors too, and an attourney should have been called. it's really hard to think about those things when it happens so fast an out of nowhere, and law abiding citizens are not thinking about cops when they are operating legally. cops are dirty.

It seems to me his property has been taken over by the state (for whatever reason) and its no longer his property. It would help to have more information tho.

That police officer made his story up completely. He was unsure in just about everything he was saying. I think he just wanted to arrest someone.

@tommiedepew1 I appreciate your opinion about "you cant" and I agree that one should not do material damage to another person's property. The problem with the "state" is that they use subjective force to handle these situations. The person's whose property was damaged should seek relief from the person that did the damage, as they can be substantiated.
