well is in the minute 1:02..do i have to step only on the note or in the fret?

If you're asking about that chord on the 2nd fret. I'm only playing 3 strings (5,4,3). It's not a bar chord.
Also, sometimes my first finger looks like it's over top of the fret, but it's not.
