  • The song fucking makes it. So atmospheric.

Without it, it's just your average baptism with Christopher clearly having a lot on his mind.

Every song in this show is perfectly chosen.

  • I agree..best ending scene of any of them. By the last episode I wanted Phil to whack out the entire soprano family, which he nearly did.

  • PHIL: Leonardo was a great Italian and that was our name originally, Leonardo. But many years ago, when my grandpa came over from Sicily, they changed it at Ellis Island from Leonardo to Leotardo.

BOY: Why'd they do that for?

PHIL: Because they're stupid, that's why. And jealous. They disrespected a proud Italian heritage, and named us after a ballet costume.

  • "No more Butchy. No more a dis."

  • the scene is epic, but the song ruins it. utter tosh.

  • look at christopher eyes.. full of fireee

  • i love everything except the british song in the background. i need an aspirin after hearing that

  • When Johnny died, Phil took shit into his own hands. Tony should have hit him first.

  • i loved this ending :D

  • i don´t know if it is the best....but it´s fucking brilliant, that´s for sure.

  • Evidently Chickentown, a great track...only a Brit could come up with it

    perfect for this scene

  • Butchie is in Boardwalk Empire aswell. Makes this scene even greater.

  • I think chris always secound guessed himself about doing the right thing with addrianna. even in the end clip he looked blank, like he wasn't happy or maybe he was high.

  • yeah, even watching it back its great, but without a doubt at the time of its airing this was the best ending next to the one right before the finale.

  • FUCKING TUUUNE

  • this tune is bloody shit and in no way fitting!

  • Now, let's see. You can't watch a whole episode, but you can see outtakes. Let me guess: The thinking is, these two minute bits will whet the appetite, and folks will buy more Sopranos dvds.

  • what are the medigans?

  • @TheStainy123 americans. people born in america.

  • @mahavishnuxc he actually says merigans, not americans

  • @pascey87 no, he was asking what "merigans" means, and i said americans- non-italian people born in america.

  • @TheStainy123 the americans

  • Loved this ending, the song is amazing in the scene.

  • Christopher had the world by the balls

    But he fucked up.

He should have known Tony was gonna kill him.

  • Look at the fire in Chris eyesssss......

  • @trifelife212 absolutely, no love behind those eyes for tony

  • @McCrack yea bro n it was sad to meeeee

  • definitely not the best

  • phil was the greatest guy in sopranos a real bad ass mothafucker...in reality tony and hes family wouldnt stand a chance against phil and hes soldiers...

  • This was a good ending but my favorite is when Melfi gets raped and at the very end Tony asks her during a session if she has anything to tell him and she looks up and says, "no," and bam! cut to black... my personal fav of the whole series

  • it looked like christopher had finally turned his life around here, with a wife and daughter, big house, money, but he just couldn't get away from the drugs, in the end.

  • Agreed. Fucking cool. Just brilliant. I nearly wet myself when i first saw this. One of my favourite songs anyway.

  • cool ending, shows how fucked up tony was, all that n he still killed chris

  • I got chills the first time I saw this scene. So awesome.

  • This is the scene that shows Tony's tension with chris, i guess tony learned to kill members of his family from his own mom trying to kill him.

  • truth equals fiction nothing against jersey but the brooklyn family rolls the hardest.

  • It's Evidently Chickentown by John Cooper Clarke

  • cheers

  • what an amazing ending, reckon this is one of the best endings in the show -closely followed by Jun singing in the s3 finale + the last episode

  • fantastic ending.. the sopranos really bring greater level of artistry to TV -- the music , the camera work , the way the screen just goes blank....effortless brilliance..

  • @alilondonmet

    Agree. The Sopranos is brilliant!

  • @alilondonmet so true

  • @alilondonmet on top of that, their choice of music, I love the fact that they use such an eclectic range of music for their show, not just the typical crooners from the 50s and 60s like Sinatra and Martin. Brilliant show, the box set is worth every cent

  • i agree on this being the best ending...extremely powerful...in a way its absolutely sickening because phil is saying he isn't taking anymore shit and the fuse is lit on his end....and then the internal family tension between chris and tony just shows how screwed the nj family really is. This scene is powerful because those 2 different conflicts make the series end the way it did.

  • Classic scene.. I love the unusual, yet fitting music that Chase would use to end an episode. Great Episode, great series!

  • I can't beleive that Phil had the balls to try and take out an entire Family. Did he forget 1957 Apalachin. What that whole meeting was about?

  • i hate butchie sooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!

  • stuck in fuckin chicken town lol

  • you could tell that chris and tony were not gonna both come out of this season alive. one of them was gonna go.

  • Great scene... one of the best in the series.

  • was butch his underboss?

  • i was pretty gobsmacked to hear john cooper clarke in this scene!!!

  • Everything that happens in the bar is great. Phil talks about his heritage! Then the Baptism of Christofers baby! Awesome!

  • meravigliosa

  • You see the entire history of the Familly on the wall of that bar it gives a great feeling combined with that music, especially john sacrimoni who was for me the best of the best who preserved the ancient values of the italian mob.

  • not really in the end john confessed to all his crimes and the existence of the mafia which is one of the biggest sin among the mafiosos

  • Brilliant.

  • great upload. kudos

  • It is called Evidently Chickentown by John Cooper Clarke, another superb tune in The Sopranos impressive soundtrack. The producers of this show really deserve credit for always managing to find the right tune to fit the mood.

  • What cd is this song from?

  • i love how this song and scene sets the stage for the rest of the series, very powerful stuff here

  • great! just seen this episode yesterday for the first time.

  • class!
