@Gigler43 build your own patch with a saw wave form, open filter no resonance, little bit of portamento. For that vocal vibrato on the mod wheel, you want to set your lfo destination to pitch and source to the bottom left triangle wave. Adjust amount and rate so that when the mod wheel is all the way up it gives a gentle vibrato mimicking vocals. Put your pitch bend range at a whole step for guitar bends. Good luck

I've just been getting into funk coming from rock. Bernie is a big reason why. I saw him play with Les Claypool a few years back and it blew my mind. That man is a living legend.

Do you have any tips for a noob to funk? I'm thinking about getting a Little Phatty, or maybe saving for a while to get a Voyager. Is the LP more than enough for most of your needs? Thanks for sharing your music.

@royalbastardo The Phatty is dope. I used to have a Voyager, it was actually overkill for a lot of my needs, but it's sooooooo sweet. You should get a poly synth too, like a Juno 106. Great starter synth.

I picked up the Banshee because it's the easiest talkbox to use in a gigging situation. No need for separate amplified power supply, and an easy foot-stomp bypass.

I know the sound would be better if I used a higher end talkbox.

The talkbox patch I use is a tweaked version of one of the presets, I don't remember which one I started with...

Synced both oscillators, used a saw waveform shape, all-the-way open filter frequency with low resonance, little bit of glide.

The pitch wheel is a whole step bend and the mod wheel is a light vibrato for that vocal "Roger" sound.
