  • Isn't this child abuse!!!

  • @Nobleeagle100 how so?

  • @tallooly2007 According to Richard Dawkins, who support this atheist summer camp, says that parents should not indoctrinate their kids to believe in something because he considers it "child abuse". Well aren't you doing the same thing with your child? Isn't that HYPOCRISY!!

  • @Nobleeagle100 apparently you aren't getting the point of the camp. it's so kids can go have fun and learn about things like fossils or science, it's to have fun and learn with OUT the indoctrination of religion because most all camps have some element of brainwashing... or religious focus/studies in them. this is a breath of fresh air, so no i am not a hypocrite, i am giving my daughters the chance to see life out from under the dark cloud of supernaturalists.

  • @tallooly2007 You are indoctrinating your kids to be atheists. And if you teach your children atheism subjectively, without sharing them the other side of the coin, religion, for that way they can choose by themselves, then that's not education, but INDOCTRINATION. Btw, that's the reason many atheists are against this creepy camp.

  • @Nobleeagle100 lol, this camp is not creepy. it's growing by leaps and bounds and i think there are fifteen to twenty of them open now in the states, canada, and UK. BUT i have exposed them to all religions (this camp does not "teach" atheism, how can one even do that?

  • @Nobleeagle100 if anything it teaches critical thinking and when you use critical thinking skills, religion goes out the windown right away) and when i say all religions, i mean all, catholic, baptist, pentacostal, lutheran, methodist, 7 day adventist, morman, etc. we went on that journey together and now as adults, individually and collectively knew where we stood in our personal paradigms.

  • @tallooly2007 Like I said, even some atheists disagree with this atheist camp saying that although this summer camp promote "freethinking" it is not freethinking, but a dogma masquering as freethinking which goes against free thought. Reason and critical thinking is making your own decisions. So stop indoctrinating your kids lady and let them make their own decisions concerning God and religion.

  • @Nobleeagle100 lol, freethinking is a dogma? i think you might need to look that up. they have made their own decisions.... lady

  • @tallooly2007 I didn't say free thinking is a dogma, but that atheism is. And is obvious that your kids were told that God and religion are wrong things to believe in. In other words, they didn't come to Atheism by rational thinking. Do you understand now what I mean? Btw, I'm not a lady, I'm just a guy trying to save your daughters from this Hell camp. lol

  • @Nobleeagle100 well you insist on calling me "lady" so i return in kind. i don't consider atheism a dogma, as a dogma is a system of principles such as a church. atheism is simply stating you do not believe in a diety. atheist - a theist (like atypical, is not typical) atheist is not a theist. not a dogma. and no one "taught" this to my children. we were born this way. it is throughout our lifetime that various religions try to force their dogmas on others.

  • and if this is child abuse why don't you report it to social services and see how far you get? i can see why dawkins say she thinks religionists who force their dogma on their children can be considered child abuse, you certainly don't let them have an open thought and spent all this time on an internet channel (mine no less) attacking me! no one every told my kids god is wrong, they just figured out for them selves how misguided you are. and sad.

  • @tallooly2007 Is that what they teach in that camp??? Babies are not born Baptists, Catholics, Muslims, or Jewish, but they are neither born atheists. Atheism is the belief that there is no God and babies are born without any belief at all. They learn these things from their parents, first teachers, and close friends. Got the message now or you still don't get it??

  • When you are born you have nothing but tabula rasa. a blank slate. it is not filled with gods, demons, and other supernatural things. are you really, i mean really are you trying to say that babies grow up with gods in their heads and athiests have to teach them there are not? LOL that is quite a picture. don't YOU get it?

  • @Nobleeagle100

You don't know what atheism is then. every child is born atheist.

Atheism is the default position... basically, its not accepting theistic claims as being true... no infant has the knowledge to form such an opinion, and becuz they have no opinion, they're atheist.

I think you're confusing Atheism and Antitheism

  • Yeah, GO QUEST CAMP! :D

  • Bless these kids

  • @SundriedAtheist You fuckin' scared me.

  • cats can go into heat every 2 weeks

  • really? i've never heard that in my life!
