  • I wish i had $1900 for a computer build dammit >:/

  • u are running cross fire on x16 both?

  • @idan124 its obviously 8x crossfire...

  • @Aznganxter1 my boared can run both on 16x

  • @Aznganxter1 board

  • buy a traipod

  • fantastic

  • Graphics look horrible without physx

  • @meetajhu I've played with and without physx on Nvidia based systems and there is no discernable difference in how the game looks with or without it. So don't know what you're thinking saying graphics look horrible without physx you obviously don't have a clue.

  • @meetajhu It's because the camera didn't focus on the screen.

  • the unlocked shaders improves the performance only by about 3 percent.

overclocking this card works way better than just unlocking some shaders

  • @HenkSpankK

yes but u will be able to oc it up to 950MHz instead of 880 so the overall performance boost of unlucking ur 6950 is far greater than 3%. Mine was more of a 12% running 3dmark11 benchs P5782

  • @tkmkirill nice!

  • thank you sir :)

  • Received my xfx6950's couple of days and installing them now.. your right.. no bios switch, LOL.

  • @ibdursty yeah but it's not the end of the world not having the bios switch. Prolly better off. Just do normal overclock.

  • Hmm.. haven't heard of attaching wires across the chips technique.. just figured most of the shaders on the newer boards were physically disabled. Was mainly interested in getting the 10% boost in hash rate for bitcoin mining. Does the xfx board have dual bios switch?

  • @ibdursty No the version of the XFX card I have does not have the dual bios switch. But that hack which requires tech skills works fine from what I hear. Though do at own risk. I'm going to leave mine as is just overclock.

  • Any luck unlocking the extra shaders on the cards? I've most of the new cards are laser cut to disable the extra shaders but every card is different.

  • @ibdursty I came across a mod that can be done to enable flashing. It involves attaching a wire between two of the leads on one of the chips on the PC board. Only advanced people with tech / soldering skills should attempt this.
