I've released games for both the DS and iPhone, and I can tell you the iPhone 3GS is approximately 5-10 times faster than the DS.
IThe DS processor is approx 70MHz and the iPad is 1GHz. I'm not sure what speed the DS2 processor runs at but knowing Nintendo I'd be surprised if it's much better than the DS!!
The Tegra 2 uses the ARM's Cortex A9 processor, which is roumered to be what the iPad is using. The iPhone 3GS already uses the A8... and we know the iPad is a step up from that, so the A9 is the logical choice!
You have to remember that EA only had 2-3 weeks to get this demo running on the iPad, so it hasn't been optimized.

strange... considering the bmw m3 gt engine is almost completely unrecognized in the real world of racing, especially nascar.

The DS2 won't be up to much...

@pacomacman Rumor has it that the DS2 will feature a Tegra 2 chip. That will wipe out the floor with that oversized iphone.

@pacomacman DS2 will feature higher clock, and a smaller screen to process. Try harder.
Also, good luck at carrying the iPhone Phat in your pocket lol
