The video is mislabeled as DeepPurple when in reality it is a WhiteSnake concert.

  • @6489532ab haahahahahaha yea xD

  • Sim, David Covardale também foi vocalista da banda e esta musica faz parte do album Stormbringer de 1975, quando ele integrava o Depp Purple.

  • Comment removed

  • well, this song belongs to deep purple??? it was made in covardale's age in deep purple???????? (srry my bad english, from brazil)

  • Guys this is not DEEP PURPLE!!!!!!

  • Yes, this is David Coverdale, and Yes it is not Deep Purple. Maybe you are not are born at all, if in doubt check in the mirror .

  • Fuck off you

  • chujowe

  • love, love.....

  • Whitesnake - good info, but from what i have read and heard (from famous old rockers) a songwriter can easily lose the legal rights to a song cuz the label folk can swindle you, depending on how you sell your stuff. These days songwriters are screwed - in fact, stuff on Youtube contributes to their demise, but here i am watching anyway. Wish i'd started writing songs 40 yrs ago. I think songwriters should retain rights to perform their stuff!! Good songwriters may be "obsolete" :( no $ in it.

  • so good

  • So great song !

  • Guess I'll always be...a soldier of fortune! :D

  • That's not Deep Purple DF. It's White Snake doing a Song from Stormbringer (deep purple with coverdale. D. F.

  • in no other song i can find myself like in this one. unfortenatelly. for a long time ii was a soldier in a terrible war. i travelled a lot in the world. i had cancer. i also was married., twice. without success. and i am only 34 years old. so i have a feeling that this song is written for me. or somenone like me...

  • I had never been married and never been a soldier in war but i can find myself in this song too. "I lived the life of a drifter

Waiting for the day..." Of last 5 years I've spend 4 years abroad without family, friends, love...

  • @jesamludkorobinhood Hey man!!! After read your comment I think there is something more written to somebody like you "If, by Rudyard Kipling"

  • @Pepatxo wow! didn't know this one. amazing poem, thanx man! it is apparentiy inspired by buddhism, which is endless source of inspiration.

  • @jesamludkorobinhood

    cuvaj se druze

  • @jesamludkorobinhood A late reaction on your comment, but I do hope things have turned out to be good for you. There are so many years to come, things can change and I am sure there must be some love in this live for everyone. I wish you a lot of sunshine. Stay safe and take care. Greetz from a dutch lady.

  • History guys ! Learn some History .

Coverdale wrote this song back when he was at Deep Purple . It was a song that the Deep Purple didn't want to release , but the Discographic company placed at their album . So coverdale has the tottal right to sing this song whenever , wherever !!!

  • is there a video of Blackmore playin this song with deep purple or with Coverdale

  • Opeth's cover was awesom :)

  • This is the best song , that i have ever listened.

  • This is Whitesnake version of Deep Purple's Soldier Of Fortune. Lyric of David Coverdale. This live Soldier or Fortune is "inside" the song Crying In The Rain. A 1000 Loving Snakes to all of you.

  • I met a loving snake who sang this to me.. x

  • @cheriekkara Did he sang well? I think he MUST.....

  • I have what i believe is a rare "Last Concert in Japan" Deep Purple live album from their 1975 Japanese tour featuring Tommy Bolin, Coverdale, Hughes, Paice and Lord. It has a great version of Soldier of Fortune, Burn, Wild Dogs, Lady Luck, Smoke, etc. Sadly, my little fox terrier ate a portion of the album cover.

  • this is Whitesnake with, as DC says at the end, "John Sykes on Guitar". DC recorded it with Purple in 74-75 for Stormbringer, but this version is by Whitesnake. I don't know if Purple ever played it live. Anyone?

  • Well Mark V did do a snippet of it on Last Concert in Japan (1975) - what I should have asked was "if DP ever did it live with Ritchie"

  • Mark IV, not V

  • david coverdale?

  • this is Whitesnake

  • Correct - Deep Purple reformed in 1984 with Ian Gillan singing.

  • No, This song is Deep Purple form Stormbringer 1974.

  • I grew up with this music & I'll die with ,Brings my life back.

  • forever in our hearts will be this song ....

  • 4ever legend!

  • <3 this song so much
