  • Comment removed

  • his speed in slow-mo is still too damn fast for me to watch and learn....

  • oh i see why he is fat ... just to palm mute the strings 5:04 ... *shutting down pc and going to mc donalds *

  • this is my third video i'm watching of him and he got a favo fan!

  • 5:36 - 5:59 is so bad ass, gotta work that out!!!...comin' up with stuff, noodlin' around...yeah..bad ass!

  • His SLOW is my HYPERSPEED level.Yeah,right.Another guy like Yngwie who plays it "SLOW".

  • Want him to be my uncle! XD

  • wow he has lost weight

  • 0:40 / 0:46 wanna go fast or slow or...? just slow now...? Poor Michael Romeo

  • Listen: How many he "You Know" said.

  • Ok, I get it Michael Romeo, you are the creator of the universe...

  • does romeo play in D standard or what is his tuning, Eb?

  • @molomix23 D standard

  • @molomix23 D.

  • That tapped chromatic run down the strings is RIDICULOUS. He could just finger it, but has to tap it because of that massive slide.

  • I wanna know what type of burgers he's been eating

  • Excuse me Romeo, 1:00 is not slow...

  • you're a god with guitar...but with girls, Michael, i don't think you're god too

  • Arrogant guy but i couldn't not envy him

  • Ya know....

  • He may be fat but you can't play like 2% that he plays. AND he scores more than you.

  • "if you think thats fast, you should see him reach for the last jelly donut!"

    - epic comment, made by a random youtuber

  • @sunnyjim98 HA I saw that one, can't remember which video though

  • I can't even see his fingers and he says that's slow?!? I wonder how many people can actually play that fast...

  • Slow enough? hahahaha WTF....

  • He is fat .. but a happy fat.

  • Herman Li made 25 accounts to dislike this (mainly because of the plectrum trick)

  • Too good. STOP IT, JUST STOP IT.

  • I was sure they could not make a new album 2011 as good as the last one. god damn, How they managed to make it? the complete discography was instantly bought \m/

  • sound like shit

  • @XenoType008 nou

  • haha! sick! what a tecnique :)

  • ..... he doesn't pick ANYTHING from 0:22 - 0:30.....

what the hell romeo....what the hell.....

    (puts guitar on ebay)

  • @iconOccam im guessing youve never heard of two hand tapping. he doesnt need to pick

  • @kpl712 He was just referring to the fact that it's such a long line and there's no picking. It's really not easy to do cleanly, especially moving to a new string using only hammer-ons. No need for condescending bs.

  • @kpl712 Actually what he is doing is known as a Legato, followed by a Tapping Chromatic sequence. As a guitarist, I know what he was doing technically, the comment I posted was merely my emotion of how awe-struck I was with how fluent he was at playing the passage.

  • @iconOccam legato my friend, LEGATO

  • @TonyForTheWin yes I am aware of the legato that is being used in this solo. Being a guitarist myself, I only placed a comment on how awe-struck I was with how fluent he was able to execute that phrase.

  • @iconOccam Are you Retarded? ever heard of Legato or Hammer on pull-offs?

  • @PatrikF666 actually, I'm a guitarist myself. I completely know what he is doing. Its just the amazement of how fluent he is with it that left me in awe. Please, leave comments suited for pre-school on your myspace page. Thank you.

  • I love how he says "do it slower now?" with the little nod hahah i laugh everytime

  • He is not sloppy at all live. He is the cleanest guitarist I have ever seen live.

  • this dude is sick as hell!

  • herman li guys?

  • @taengism9 no

  • @taengism9 herman li is a snail compared to romeo. nuff said*

  • mike should start giving dieting tips! great figure

  • he is adam sandler is disguise

  • No matter how butt-ugly you are if you are an awesome guitar player people respect you.

  • Michael Romeo's got to be the only guitarist in the world who can make the chromatic scale sound awesome.

  • He certainly is DEHUMANIZED!

  • 5:12 AFTERLIFE BY AVENGED SEVENFOLD!!!

  • Hey,he's like Yngwie."I'll play it slow."Yeah,sure.I clearly know now what you played, dude.

  • It actually sounds beautiful when he plays it slower and I prefer it. It is genius. Same with Vai and Gilbert. It seems as though they want to blow people away with their incredible speed to prove their mastery of the instrument, and they certainly have it, but musically, at full speed, it is boring. It sounds like senseless wailing. I am a big fan. I know they are incredible. I think Satriani made my point best when he said there is a huge difference between making music and showing virtuosity.

  • @robert4fun0058YT sure thing man, some people like slow melodies and others like fast melodies, it's a matter of taste really, but he wrote the solo to a fast song, it wouldn't really fit in if it was slow.

  • @1bol1 I agree with you 100%, it sounds great fast and the way it is. I was just pointing out how great it sounded slowed down, to here all the notes full. I like it at all speeds, it just caught my attention when I heard it slow. I did not intend that to mean that there was anything wrong with it fast. I like it slow, and like you said, it is all personal preference. It is nice to appreciate it at all speeds, and I that is the great thing about music. You can chose a tempo to suit your mood.

  • @robert4fun0058YT i like it in all speeds too, i'm just saying that it wouldn't fit in the song

  • fave part of the video is 1:58. His brain apparently only can think in warp speed.

  • need work

  • how the hell does this sound "TERRIBLE"? i think you were looking for a shmady gaga video, douche.

  • wow YEAH!

  • lot of noise there,

  • slower funny... to fast for me......Great guitarist......

  • anyone knows what kind of guitar he has ??

  • yea i guess its fast but it sounds TERRIBLE i dont know why anyone would want to play an instrument just to play it as fast as they can its not a fucking competition

  • @tingly7654321 I got news for you, Everything in Life is a competition. Only Losers make comments like the one you did

  • @OmniscientVirtuosity HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

  • @tingly7654321 Why do some people think anything that goes chromatic at any point sound bad? It's still musical.

And besides some people like to play fast. The majority of fast guitar players do it because it's fun to do AND it's what they want to hear not because they are in competition with anyone else.

  • That is one ugly bastard...but he can play!

  • So...when's the slow part?

  • which pick does he use? is it dumlop?

  • @ulianovis no sure..... but his guitar is 100% for sure a caparisson dilinger II :P

  • @mohokios ok thanks!

  • @mohokios Thats what its based off of. However its his sig model.

  • Comment removed

  • @iWishYouHell86 it really looks like a delinger :P

didn't knew that caparisson made his sig model:) thanks for info :)

  • my guitar hero!

  • So when will he play it slowly? xD

  • Chuck Norris isn't even half as good as Michael Romeo.

  • his fingers scars me

  • He

    Play the solo...

    Play the same solo slower....

Then play the same solo twice as fast....

    How is that possible?

  • @shreddernuo What does that even mean? He's a bad guitarist because Russell Allen rubbed his head while playing live?

  • Josh Middleton ans Michael Romeo are the only two metal guitarists that impress me. sure their is a lot of fast shredders but can the make music sound good? melody is before speed, oh and the guitarists from kse are good as well.

  • His execution is so effortless, LOVE SX!

  • This guy uses X2N in tha bridge and a Tone Zone in the neck, thts a good setup man. his tone is always punchy as hell

  • Buenos consejos.

  • His chromatic licks are amazing...I have seen SX 3 times.....Damn they kick ass!!

  • Well, he sure made that guitar his bitch.

  • Guitar god, fuck everything else.

  • @tetebueno I gotta agree with you there. This guy is a MONSTER on guitar!

  • Is he short fingered or what?

  • @Timotije I always link to his videos whenever someone says "I couldn't play, I have short stubby fingers". Definitely never held him back

  • fucking easy as he says =P

  • the tapping reminds me of a paganini lick

  • @Morbidjeff666 A lot of these neoclassical shredders had major inspiration from the great Paganini. If you listen to Michael Romeo or Jason Becker you'll hear a lot of it.

  • wtf how come his playing is so effortless??? just like thaaat.. like nothing.. easy as fck.. huge respect for this guy..

  • "is hard play slow"????????????????? O.O

  • Holy shit, the guitarsound can´t be true!! Romeo has better guitarsound on an live interwiev playing on an crappy coach than anyone else has on a studioalbum recorded in freaking expensive studio, that´s something! Can´t deny it, He is the fucking Dalai Lama of guitarshredders..

  • Song ?

  • @blackmetalrockdeath eve of seduction

  • ha a little rip on batio

  • I like the sound where it sounds like Mario just ate a mushroom and got big.....this is strange

  • He doesn't know what slow is. Fuck my life...look at that shit.

  • The coolest thing about him is that he does so much tapping without a string dampener!

  • @emosucks89 string dampers are for the weak!

  • Que habilidade , facilidade cara, dom, tecnica, aprendizadoos *-*

  • This chromatic thing??? What???? =D

  • wow....amazing what kind of pedal did you used dude?

  • MJR: Shall i do it slower now?

    Interviewer: yeah

    MJR: *sigh*

  • @6project6nightmare6 lmao :-)

  • met him 2 nights ago in Toronto:D talked guitar with him, seriously one of the most clean and insane guitarist's ive ever seen in my life....one of the best by far(Y)

  • @godofwar5 Hey I met him too, in Amsterdam! It was before they were gonna perform, I saw him and another hooded guy walking, so I started talking to him, when we were about done talking I realized the hooded guy was Jason though... so that sucked lol i felt kinda bad xD

  • @godofwar5 he is actually pretty sloppy at live..:p petrucci all the way

  • @Guitar1sti

Petrucci? get out of here fool.

  • @residentevilchris06 dont you even know who is petrucci.. lol dude if so youre a failure if youre guitarist, haha no just kidding :D peace man

  • @residentevilchris06 im just sharing my opinions and making people realise new guitarists thats all.. and the truth is romeo is sloppy live. NOT saying i was nearly as good as him but i got ears.

  • @Guitar1sti I saw him live last Wednesday. He is not sloppy live, eh is incredibly clean. What is sloppy is on two songs, the whole band started the song incorrectly. For example, the first time the initial riff of Of Sins And Shadows was played it was a bit off. Still sounded kick ass :P

  • @residentevilchris06 petrucci is awesome but i can say that romeo is much faster : P

  • @PeikkoKuningas95 Petrucci is definitely faster, the man is insane, love both though...Petrucci is far more musical though although it seems the bigger his muscles get the faster he plays xD live anyway...definitely loves shredding live

  • @Squa7ch though romeo plays almost every solo with more notes per sec.

  • @PeikkoKuningas95 They're both fast, so hard to say...and JP has some wicked solos, he doesn't always play fast...so hard to say...I guess you would ave to find some solos to compare

  • @Squa7ch yeah your right. but still comparing these gods is something most retarded i can imagine

  • @PeikkoKuningas95 Yeah they're both completely different when it comes to the stuff they play...personally I like Petrucci more than I do Romeo

  • @Squa7ch yeah. main thing is that people like awesome players and music like these 2 guys : )

  • @Guitar1sti still you haven't even seen him live :D:DD

  • @PeikkoKuningas95 lol, vitun ankka nyymi :D you know, you can watch they playing live when you just type on search "symphony x live"

  • @Guitar1sti eli siis jos dt omaa 5 tai 6 hyvin tuotettua livetaltiota ja symphony x:n livet on lähinnä kameralla tai perunalla kuvattuja niin se ei vielä paljon taidoista kerro.

  • Hey Folks, check out my Shawn Lane clips at Adios73 - prepared to be scared!

  • those licks sound like George Lynch

  • This man is insane.

  • now that's guitar playing....

  • doing it slow haha hes trying so harrrd

  • I believe he saw a bird pooping on his manager's head in 1.00

Check it out this guy is awesome

  • is that a charvel guitar ???

  • @MegaHater001 Negative. It's Michael Romeo's signature Caparison, the Dellinger MJR.

  • @MattBoy16 thx dude

  • @MegaHater001 read from the headstock... caparison...

  • is that a charvel guitar ???

  • he looks... fat? still a great player

  • funny how those technical shredders always have shit phrasing

  • @guitarfan1979

how is this shit phrasing? and haven't you ever heard of guthrie govan and shawn lane? 2 of the most technical shredders ever to walk the earth and their phrasing is second to none.

  • He must definately wank with his left hand......

  • Comment removed

  • He's like a descendant of Shawn Lane or something...

  • @xxguitardude93xx Not even close.

  • The chromatic lick kick ass!

  • Almost as good as Paul Gilbert and tied with John Petrucci but Guthrie Govan destroys all.

  • Lol he seems so annoyed. What an amazing player though. Blows my mind listening to his tapping.

  • His fat fingers move so fast

  • master ¡¡¡¡

  • @lucifershorde6 ...are you envious? I tell you...this man is so charming and kind, so close your rubbish bin!!!

  • floyd rose is tha best

  • Michael Romeo is a metal version of Guthrie Govan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's great!!!

  • When you play shit slow its even harder :|

  • 0:26 Ahh, so that's the way he does it. I would never imagine. -.-

  • The freak thing about Romeo is it actually sounds great. With many guitarists who play fast it's just meaningless running up and down scales. But Romeos solos, for some reason, sound much better then those of many others to my ears.

  • His slow is faster than most people can play O_O

  • @BloodMoon One thing I'd like to point out is that he is a fast player, but his technique lies in the flair of his playing, no one plays quite like it.

  • @izzyalistair Indeed that is true.

  • i personally like eric johnson's method of damping the strings better.

  • TAB PLEASE (lmao) :D

  • 2:49 "shut the fuck up noob"

  • I know Eddie Van Halen is thinking..."man...I got ripped off. I shouldn't have let out the secret of tapping."

  • @johnadorian

eddie van halen didn't invent tapping -.-

  • Whit that skills I still wondering what character would choose M romeo to play Street fighter 4 =D

  • It's nice to hear a shredder (other than PG) who can play cleanly, in time, and with good dynamic control when playing slow. It seems to be pretty rare.

  • he is really getting old man..he wasnt this old when I had his first lesson for SEA OF LIES

  • @HammerFall54 I already did it man... that pretty says it all...

  • it is not only a question of being fast and shred like a beast, but to stay clean, to have melody and to have an own style!
