This is a beautiful arrangement of the classic hymn but the original version of this arrangement was done by "Edwin Hawkins and the Hebrew Boys", an album that was done in the 1970s shortly after "O Happy Day". Both albums (LP) by Edwin Hawkins and A Special Blend are currently out of print. A version of the song by Edwin Hawkin appeared later in the 1980s on one of his Music and Art Seminar Choir LP. No where to go but up.

just had to come back with some history on this album... Mervyn Warren, didn't sing on the record unlike the other four, (which included Mark Kibble, Claude McKnight, Lori et al) but played keyboard, did the vocal and instrumental arrangements, produced it, and wrote most of the music. Where is Conrad Roach and David Hunte when yuh need them?

I have it in cassette but with poor quality ! thanks for it. I started to transcribe the whole thing (piano/bass/voices) ! I'll let you know when I'm done. It's my favorite track by them.

I LOVE this group! I really appreciate you posting this online! When I purchased the cassette in 1985, it was played so much it snapped! I couldn't locate another copy after repeatedly trying to tape it together, and wondered where you were able to find this song. Or if you can put me in the direction of where I could obtain the track, that would be wonderful.
