  • from watching this makes me real believe in a hand gun.I see a shit head with a knife and he pulls it.Will dumb sucker. OK! you got a knife HA HA BANG

  • @mogges1 an experienced killer would have stabbed you 3 times before you pulled out your gun

  • Knifes are banned by the Victorian government, so no one has 2 worry any more, as these situations WILL NOT happen 2 any other person, inside or out side of prison,in the great state of NEVER NEVER LAND! I cut my stake with an axe now & axes are no danger 2 the general public!

  • @frasatat2 just because they are banned does not mean criminals do not have them...

  • @DaBlindKungFuMastuh SARCASM. DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND. THE STATE OF NEVER NEVER LAND. THE VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT LIVE IN IT! BAN IT & IT WONT HAPPEN IS WHAT THEY THINK, THE IDIOTS

  • @frasatat2 oh lol

  • @DaBlindKungFuMastuh actually truly the evil elite ''leaders'' know this will still happen the people that elect them are the idiots, the leaders just want to ban more weapons and make up excuses like this to ban more and more weapons until your left with nothing

  • Yes, things can happen fast, but, a huge majority allows a "tool" or "tools" for the good guy take into action extremely fast. Those tools make a huge difference. My point is, if a good guy is caught bare-handed, they have not given much thought to their self defense. It is foolish to be defending yourself bare-handed, just as it is foolish not knowing how to use the tools you carry.

  • I love how people freeze frame a fight and think that their brain in the heat of the moment would be able to perform whatever it is they think they could based on a frozen snapshot of a chaotic situation. The menu is not the meal and the map is not the territory.

  • Pause at 1:06, the attacker has his hand on the shoulder... the attacker could instantly slide that hand into his throat right into the adams apple, causing both arms to go up... at 1:08 attacker can slide over the arm of the super lame block and cut up the upper arm with a deep cut, and then retreat for a long range knife attack. Although I guess no one can blame him, he needs to make money and it is a little better than what you will learn in regular martial arts.

  • Nice! Many times we trained this and people who have seen our videos criticized that it looks unskill and without technique. Our system has many hundreds of years of experience witht he knife and this is one of the closest training to reality too. Knife stabbings are not pretty and it's defenses are not for show. Even the most experience one's have gotten hit(cut) witht he knife. Very nice! Thank you for sharing!!

  • Medieval martial arts deal with alot of dagger work

  • holy fuck this guy knows exactly what he talking about

  • @wakboth666 i agree in reality there is almost NOTHING you can do against a crazed knife wielding maniac intent on killing you...except to be atleast 10 + feet away with a loaded shotgun and pray it doesnt jam or miss

  • Having worked in corrections and been in the martial arts for 28 years now, I can say that your knife senarios are right on. When I was put into a use of force situation, most of what I was taught went out the window. The best thing that my later training taught me was DONT FREEZE! Two concepts helped me, longest weapon to closest target and take out their vision, breathing or mobility. You are doing a great job in your video's, I would covet working out with you someday. With Respect.

  • I have found these videos to be refreshing. I agree with the concept of mentality over technique. I have been in 3 unarmed vs. knife altercations since 1985. In 2 of the 3 I did not know the attackers had a knife until later because it happened so fast. Specific knife defense techniques would not have worked. Fortunetly for me the suspects did not have good knive skills. It's not glamorous. I have some nerve damage and a nasty scar on my left arm as a reminder.

  • @rodlpz I think its good for people to understand just how deadly knife attacks can be. A lot of people don't realize they are cut until its to late. I have seen the after math of knife attacks and they are bloody. Good comment...

  • This is the most shit I have ever seen.

  • Use both hands to control the knife hand NEVER LET GO - its better to be punched than stabbed 1) then push him away and pull him towards you stab him in the throat with his own hand 2) also rock him from side to side when he takes a wide stance kick him in the balls 3) also push him away and pull him towards you and head butt him on the nose. Of course this is all only if there is no where to run - run away is option 1

  • Buy a large hammer with a long handle, every day starting close to the head with one hand rotate the hammer to the left and to the right like a propeller do both arms alternating 10/time never count how many you do you do it until you collapse - keep moving further away from the head of the hammer until you are at the end of the handle it takes about 3-6 months, then when a guy attacks you with a knife you can grab his wrist and stab him in the throat with the knife still in his hand.

  • @maco10810 i dont get it

  • its not bad but is it me or the guy in gray is a bit slobby with his knife defence he just stood there and kept blocking the knife even thought we all know that to block without trapping or countering right away specially in knife combat is wrong

  • Senshido owns man

The Shredder is the ultimate hand to hand combat system

  • Thank you for the realistic approach!

I'm subscribing - looking forward to seeing your other vids.

  • Systema is unrealistic and stupid. It teaches complex techniques.

Senshido is about simplicity and effectiveness. They teach you tools, targets, and tactics not dumb old techniques.

  • Is Senshido also where you gained your great wisdom and humility?

  • What are you talking about? wisdom and humility?

I'm just speaking the truth! If you want to learn Systema go ahead. Let's see how it turns out for you when your being jumped or mugged.

  • No to both eh? Well - perhaps with age.

Since you're admittedly working at a disadvantage, I'll be nice. Wisdom and humility are harder to develop than combat skills, but even more effective at saving lives.

Never having met a certified Systema instructor or taken a class, you may be surprised to find out that their psychology of conflict is virtually the same as is taught here.

Watch it again kid - it's a great vid.

  • Hi

    rell good moves

    Thanks for this

  • awesome !!!

  • It is nice to see a video that shows realistic combat where someone will get cut in a knife situation. Kudos 5 stars.

  • excellent work!

  • LOLz,,,with that attack in real situation the victim might got injury already..it is widely open for the attacker to stab him,,look at 1:27..you ca see it

  • definitely! however, if you do get injured and the wound is not life threaetening you wouldn't wanto stop there and give up. I knew a guy who didn't even realize he was stabbed till after the fight stopped. When a knife is involved, EXPECT to get cut, but minimize vital areas. which was what he did in the video.

  • Can't see that text in the middle that keeps popping up in all your videos.

  • Well I am glad I am not the only one out there teaching people this sort of thing.

  • In a knife attact the best defence is to run,get distance.if your close without a weapon you will get cut.you just got to commit fully to your attack or just run.

  • very good point. But sometimes you dont' have the chance to run. definitely need distance but ideally, well works for me is to bridge to gap. I feel the necessity to trap and control the weapon while dealing damge to the attcker.

  • ahah..I enjoy how you try to scary people. in what you are show there are basically three problems. 1) why you don't try to block opponent biceps insted of his forearm? 2) why the right arm of the defender grabs the opponent instead of smashes his face? 3) why the defender goes back instead of turn to his right injuring the elbow of the attacker? Really stop doing this fucking and stupid thing. your training methods are good but you have a very poor techniques.

  • just a correction. when i say block biceps I mean if i stop with left arm opponents forearm immidiatly i block whit my right hand his arm starting from biceps and then having contact straight down to the wrist. clearly after a good punch to the head and correct movements (non that shit) this his really easy

  • I love how you swear lmao

  • You cant make it out a knife fight without some memories. Unless its an old lady. Even a raging woman who you cheated on with her best friend who you got pregnant and then raised the kid after you failed to give your main girl a child while living under her roof that she paid all the bills on will be able to get a slice or 2 in before you knock her through the wall on some cartoon ish.

  • So what does Rich exactly wants to tell the viewers? There is no guarantee that any one can avoid being cut by knife (even if he is good in Senshido)?????

  • Against this sort of attack, pretty much. He's the only honest instructor out there who tell you like it is and not try and sell you his "undefeatable fighting system". This is 2 min of an over hour instructional vid (which is excellent by the way) and it's not all he says, he gives the viewers the most honest and best drills to determine their own defenses based on their own capabilities while providing many life saving concepts and drills as the blue print.

  • You will be slashed or stabbed, you just have to try & minimize how many times or dying for that matter.Just cause you survive doesn't mean you'll come out looking pretty.I survived an attack & was lucky to have only suffered a stab to the shoulder & the back of my left hand.

  • Lol dude I don't care how good you are at anything. Your gonna get cut sometimes. Rich is just trying to make sure you get out alive and well.

  • Cool snd real! I like it!

  • I see that u see combat in black and white and belong to the "attack the attacker" camp like the military combatives. Do u train in a group with friends and have pressured tested ur theory? I've pressured tested counterknife, and sometimes A presented itself and I took it.Or B presented itself and I took it, and A+B was there and I took the opportunity. If ur counter Knife training is realistic, then u'll realize that unless you video it, you won't remember what u did to shut down the perp

  • heres a thought, how about just simply injuring the man before he even attempts to stab you? Eg. you see him reaching in his pocket or back for something and you step in and rupture his testticle or eye, Why must you always wait to see what he's going to do to you instead of making him worry about what your going to do to him? Its a whacky idea I know but just my opinion :-(

  • U into Tim Larkin's( Self proclaimed S.E.A.L.) and that Safta ? Systems that r MISSION SPECIFIC to Spec war operators. SMUs operate in TEAMS, NEVER go in blind, they recon a hot zone THOROUGHLY before they go in and have real time Intell. Civilian PP /HTH is EXACTLY the OPPOSITE, think about it.

"heres a thought how about just simply injuring man before he even attempts to stab you?"

IDEALLY Yeah .Here's a Scenario for u,U have a sprained ankle , and can't close n WHACK him B4 he draws Steel?

  • U do understand the concept of the 3 Is method of skillset building? (Introduce,Isolate,Integtrate). How can you judge the functionality of a system on a 2 minute isolation drill. This isolation drill is based on the scenario where ur awareness fucked up and u were too slow to foul the perp's blade draw/drop him. Now u have to do damage limitation til you can find an Equalizer,Escape or neutralize. I decided to upload phase 1 of THIS isolation drill rather than phase 1 of "prempt knife draw"

  • answer to your senario: I do the exact same thing and focus on shutting the man down instead of worrying about the hundreds of various ways he can come at me with the knife. But heres a seanrio for you: a guy just walked up on you and stabbed you(no pre-cursors) what is going to be your next move? A/ try to not get stabbed again by holding his arm etc? or (B) Take his eye out of his skull which now renders the knife useless. I personally think the first one is a bit too stressful for my likeing

  • "heres a seanrio for you: a guy just walked up on you and stabbed you(no pre-cursors) what is going to be your next move? Optimally A+B,:-),Hurt perp ASAP to make him "prey",but "it depends", there are no absolutes "ALWAYS trap the knife arm,OR Forget the knife arm, ATTACK,ATTACK,ATTACK

  • "it's always hard for me when I see people giving the guy with the knife seanrio so much power, when in actuallity all it is ,is just a guy holding on to a knife"

That's bc u have the correct combat survival mindset whether it is facing( blade, gun, multiples), maybe from experience or correct training .. Most ppl, especially women in the US( I'm generalizing from my experiences) have to learn that "I will overcome any lethal confrontation" but are in "this will never happen to me" denial.

  • Rich covers all that and more. In this particular dvd he covers the most difficult types of knife assaults one can possibly face and offers the best possible solutions for them and he states many times that if it got to this point of the fight then you screwed up on several occasions earlier to get you there unless someone simply jumped you outta know where and began lunging at you with a blade.

  • I like this stuff. However, what is disappointing is that the instructor in a lot of videos doesn't know how to talk professionally and simply says fuck this and cuk that, etc., all the time. Why can't someone simply not swear when teaching? IT makes sound more professional.

  • I agree & disagree, if it's a demo for the general population than instructors should watch what they say.Although in my classes I will use swear words here & there especially in combat scenarios to prepare them for how a scumbag will speak to them. You'd be surprise on how some people freeze up when a thug yells "FUCK YOU!" in there face.

  • I have no problem with Rich using the language that he does. Its about scenario-building and he is extremely professional in preparing people for the reality of horrific violence and aggression. If he did anything else he would be undermining his message. He's a passionate and expressive guy, has his studied convictions and I respect him immensely.

  • Richard is a member of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers and is recognized by the International Police Defense Tactics Association, as well as the official defensive tactics instructor for the Guardian Angels, and is currently the only civilian authorized to teach HTHC skills to the British Special Air Service personnel and UK Royal Family close protection personnelThis is a rare opportunity to train with Richard in his only California and New York seminar in 2008.Don't miss out!!

  • No one is authorised to teach the UK SAS. Its a closed shop, maybe he taught a few guys but thats about it.

  • Don't take my word for it, ask your buds. Rich is the ONLY civilian to be invited by the Brit SAS BRASS, not by a Troop Capt. Beyond how many operators and what he taught, the boss is serious mum about it.

  • Ahhh, finally someone who knows whats he's talking about! All these filipino martial art, kali and etc etc are always asuming how the attacker will attack just like Rich displayed. Really love this stuff, no BS! Have ordered Dvds nr 1-3 cant wait :)

  • Scnce from CT2

  • I'm so glad Richard is out there teaching others the reality of a fight. That is beyond a real situation. that's what I teach my students and I'm glad I'm not the only one.
