When I hear or see people like Randy Rhodes, Jimmy Page, Hendrix, Angus Young, etc... I say to myself how in the world? How can people play like that? It's almost inhuman in ability. And why has no one else been able to preform like this today?

amore101, The reason why no one has been able to perform this way is because the younger generation have a disease called the "I-want-it-now" syndrome; meaning that any guitar student who wants to learn to shred wants to do so in less time than it takes to take a piss :) I'm a guitar teacher, and I see it everyday, its so sad. Kids are simply afraid of hard work:(

The simple answer is that every wants to be Jay Z or Justin Timber-fake.Rhoadsian rock solos are dead. But you DO have a point, though I think it's no more true today than it ever was..99.9% of guitarists don't want to spend the the several hours a day that it takes to play like this.

Why don't people who film these gigs understand that you put the camera on the guitarist during a solo?? They missed the first 20 seconds panning in on Rudy Sarzo hitting simple notes on his bass. It would nice if they released this show on dvd.
