People who sell modded 240's for 10 to 15k AUD will be just recouping costs. You wouldn't do this sort of thing to resell for a profit, there isn't the market.
Yes it does unless you upgrade all the ancilleries and keep an eye on things. Vovlo used expensive parts which on one hand gives you great reliability when stock and on the other, allows you to do this sort of thing. Upgrade the support mechanicals and you should be right.

Sounds great! I miss my 240, but not that it handled like a soggy bread truck. Was a great car though.
