@EthanKelly16 cool you can go for a apprentice ship with a juniorcert as far as im aware . you will basically learn trades like mechanics ans stuff along them lines . the problem there is your at the mercy of recruitment they only take a certain amount of apprentices on . there is a age limit as far as i am aware . the pay rate wouldn't be to bad . but if you finished school and get the requirements or better for a cadetship . you benefit more than being a private or a apprentice .

But you need an Irish republic citizenship to join which as resident on the island of ireland, you already are, so no worries about that one. But im not responsible for recruitings, so thank you for your confidence, but I'd suggest you to check out our homepage (military.ie) and contact the person in charge for the area you want to deploy (Southern, Eastern or Western Brigade). You can also join an Operational Unit such as the Ranger Wing (if you are good enough of course). Youve got more individual choices there.

Sorry I should have been more specific. Does the DF intend replacing the aml 90 with something of the same firepower? Surely the scorpian tanks are long over due replacement aswell. I know the df works with a strict budget but surely more modern vehicles in the 90mm calibre and over should be a priority.
they don't really need the firepower. The Irish army is basically all infantry based with artillery support.
They got about 20 MOWAG Piranha's with 30mm cannons to take over from the AML90 and the Scorpion. Along side the 80 standard Piranha's as well as some utility versions.

But you need an Irish republic citizenship to join which as resident on the island of ireland, you already are, so no worries about that one. But im not responsible for recruitings, so thank you for your confidence, but I'd suggest you to check out our homepage (military.ie) and contact the person in charge for the area you want to deploy (Southern, Eastern or Western Brigade). You can also join an Operational Unit such as the Ranger Wing (if you are good enough of course). Youve got more individual choices there.

Sorry I should have been more specific. Does the DF intend replacing the aml 90 with something of the same firepower? Surely the scorpian tanks are long over due replacement aswell. I know the df works with a strict budget but surely more modern vehicles in the 90mm calibre and over should be a priority.

they don't really need the firepower. The Irish army is basically all infantry based with artillery support.
They got about 20 MOWAG Piranha's with 30mm cannons to take over from the AML90 and the Scorpion. Along side the 80 standard Piranha's as well as some utility versions.
