Naveed is taken from the Persian name for the bearer of good news
Naveed was also Raine's best friend. Naveed was Iranian and one day he told Raine the background (of the name) was a person referred to as a bearer of good news. 'Naveed' talked about someone scared to die, but at the same time interested in it. Naveed unexpectedly died from a gunshot wound. Raine took the concept of Naveed & placed it in the dark optimism of music. Naveed traveled the distance between mysticism & bitter reality
i hate when people say his voice is terrible live, this song was originally recorded so long ago at a time when he could easily reach those high notes, his voice is amazing, if you don't like it then go listen to some auto tune shit.
@tankrocks1089 I have also seen them twice and the first time I saw them, didn't even know who they were, it was like being hit with a brick, they were that good. Been a fan since. Go get their live album.
@lyndonrules no doubt i hate u2 bobno is too much of a whore for me , besides he sucks , maybe he should focus on saving children in other countries hahaha
@DamienThornes Yeah, he's in a band called Crash Karma. With Edwin from IME, the drummer from the Tea Party (Jeff Burrows I think is his name) and the bassist from a band called Zygote. They're pretty awesome from what I've heard, basically (to me) vintage OLP with a different singer. Love the single "Awake".
How do you know? Justout of curiousity. I remember hearing it on the radio, Spiritual Machines was the best thing I'd listened to at that point and I was very disappointed.
"You You You You Old man at the back of the door He says he's alright but he still wants more There's a young man at the side of the house He says he's okay, okay, okay Old man at the back of the door He says he's alright but he still wants more There's a young man at the side of the house He says he's okay, okay, okay Is everybody okay? We're all okay We're okay, okay"

I've seen them twice and if I had a choice between seeing U2 live and OLP live....I'd choose OLP!!!

The whole band seems to be more playful during there first two albums.
Raine reminds me of Rick from MTV lol.
Awesome song none the less.
