  • I can't imagine Megan Follows as anyone else but Anne. She's perfect and beautiful!

  • megan you are the anne of green gables!..it was so good to see this!!

  • wanted a long series

  • It's weird, anytime I see Megan anywhere I expect her to talk and walk and act like Anne would. She really couldn't have been more perfect in this role.

  • this is great! :)

  • Megan Follows IS Anne of Green Gables!!!

  • I love this movie and Megan did wonderful as Anne.

  • Could you upload the whole movie?!

  • No Megan, you are the Perfect Anne!!!! (I've yet to meet someone who thinks otherwise!!)

  • Megan is the only Anne for me and many other people in the world. She did a phenomenal job and she'll always be remembered for that :)

  • I can't imagine anyone else in ANY of the parts, having grown up with this series as many others of you have, it takes on a large part of your heart and you see them owning these roles and characters. Funny isn't it?

  • I love the people not in costume are dressed, they are hilarious! I also like that they made it longer instead of cutting things out.

  • Wow they made this show into. Cartoon one

  • Megan Follows, you are Anne!

  • She was almost perfect for me. Just wasn't tall or skinny enough :( Always had the impression that Anne was more elegant than cute.

But GB was perfect casting though, lol.

  • You are Anne of Green Gables forever in MY mind, Megan. :)

  • Megan Follows was born to pay Anne and Colleen Dewhurst was born to play Marilla <3

  • Megan follows and Jonathan crombie are the perfect Anne and Gilbert. There is no one else who could play them ever!!

  • God megan's beautiful! i love her as anne

  • Meagan Follows was honestly, in my opinion of course, the perfect Anne. When I read the books, I always imagine her as Anne.

  • I've watched the series a million times and this is the first time in my life ( At 17) that reminded me it is a movie...because everything is so freaking perfect! The actors, the acting, the costumes, sets/scenery,etc. are all a perfect match! I am so in to it that I forget that this was a production! LOL

  • Woow... Megan is so talented!

  • Can there be a better movie? Hardly.

  • well Megan, you ARE Anne Shirley for me ^_^v

  • wow 3000 actresses auditioned for the part of anne......well they picked the right one! megan was the perfect anne

  • I have always loved redheads. Growing up I absolutely loooved! this movie. I had always felt I was born one hundred years to late. Because I have always loved the turn of the ceuntury. I have always thought Megan Follows was absolutely beautiful. I had the biggest crush on a girl a girl I worked with who favored her a lot. Her hair wasn't red, but she had the coloring that she could have pulled it easily.

  • She is Anne for me. She's perfect.

  • Was ANY of it shot in PEI? Surely the scenes where Anne and Diana are running around everywhere....

  • This movie is SOOO good.. I remember crying cause it was finished.. haha lol!

  • is it mEEEgan or just megan??

  • It is MEEgan...its the Canadian pronounciation...

  • i'm canadian... and i have never met anyone, canadian or not, who pronounces their name that way!!

  • hmmm..then I dunno - but I know that she pronounces it MEEgan...maye her preference or her parents??

  • Megan is the best!

  • she's a natural beauty. I support the canadian actress very much. she's the kristen stewart of then. and ten times more talented.

  • nope. shes 100 times more talented!

  • "and i begin to flop about" lol she's adorable

  • i loved this movie when i was 11 years old amazing movie..... i still love it

  • She was a PERFECT Anne

  • GAH! It was filmed in Toronto??!

  • Near Uxbridge! My friend says he lives near the bridge where Anne and Gil kissed. I pretty much proposed to him on the spot in a desperate plea to get him to take me there! Haha

  • Thanks for posting this! I have NEVER seen it before.

  • She's definitely Anne for me. Couldn't imagine anyone better! She even has Anne's pretty nose.

  • @ladyflash agreed! i love her nose :)

  • awh. i loved the movie

  • Thanks for uploading.

  • she is such a good anne

  • Huh... she was born the same year as Kristin Chenoweth... the other woman love of my life. O_o

No but really, Miss Megan Follows did an amazing job. And she is terribly pretty.

  • I think she's the anne of green gables for everybody

  • when did the movie come out?

  • It came out in 1986.

  • Great.. thanks so much!! ;)

  • I know I'm being weird but I just love Megan Follow's nose...

  • Good heavens...don't tell her! LOL

  • That nose fits her perfectly. It's like it was made for her.

  • What a wonderful surprise to find this on YouTube! I love this movie!

  • great clip!

  • Im going to PEI this summer and she was right when she said she might not be the Anne of Green Gables for some poeple and might be the anne for other poeple.

  • She was astonishingly mature for 16...like she was born to play it:)

  • she was born in 1968, and so if this was released in '86 she was actually 18 - and since it was shot as a TV movie, it probably wasn't given a long shooting schedule (shot quickly in other words) so... she was probably 17-18 during shooting. :/

  • odd how the time doesn't match up. hm oh well. since it was "shot until july & seen by December" of supposedly the same year... dunno

    oh well LMAO

yeah she's quite mature for 16 though

  • actually when a film is released it's different than when it's in production. I imagine they started the pre-production 3 years before and production a year later. So she was 16 when the filming started but 18 when the film finally came out.

  • this i realize.. i took Audio/Video production in college (2 years) - Associates of Applied Sciences. I know the preproduction, production, & Post production steps, etc. So all of this i know. but sometimes films take so long to get "bought" by a distributor too that "ages" when film fans go to look just don't match up nor make sense.

don't know if Staymewithfalgons realizes all that though.

  • Hmm...good point! But correct me if I'm mistaken, but I thought the tv miniseries was already secured by the CBC and PBS (or one of the show's program - I believe Masterpiece Theater), so for the miniseries to be bought wasn't a problem...I'm just guessing on that part.

But true, so much goes into having a film just on its feet and bought. Thanks for the insight!

  • You would be right. Shooting of the series and its subsequent airing both took place within the same year. Filming took place during the summer of 1985, making Megan 17 at the time.

  • However, production obviously began way before that. Megan's first audition was at the beginning of the extensive 6-month long audition search.

She was 15 at her first audition (at the beginning of the audition search) and didn't get, but she had turned 16 when she came in to her 2nd audition with which she won the role.

  • the poster of the video would get the same comment as this, which is - oh yeah. it was a mini-series on TV wasn't it?! lol duh me. i would think pre-production & thus, casting, would take a bit longer but usually i would *think* production and then post would've been quicker because of TV production companies probably had a good idea as to when they wanted it aired... good times of the year for things like this are a key to TV programing half the time.

  • I agree. That's just... it's really cool. I have found another actress to look up to.

  • The trouble with making something as sucessful as this, is that it will be nearly impossible to make a new version (and I can´t see the point, this one is not that old...)

To me, and many others I understand, Megan Follows does´nt play Anne, she IS Anne, Jonathan Crombie IS Gilbert etc. I have hard seing other actors for most of the bigger characters, and the older versions of this story are not haf as good as the Sullivan one.

  • what time is anne of green gables on

  • what time is it on because i forgot

  • Thank you for uploading this clip. It it always interesting to see some "behind the scenes" information :-) or something hard to find.

  • This is so great. Thank you so much for posting!

  • You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
