And if you think it is I hope your not driving at high speed because you don't know what you are doing. having the transmission engaged keeps the chassis torqued and provides far greater stability under breaking. simply shifting to neutral you are relying completely on friction brakes to stop. using the resistance of the motor can cut your stopping distance by 30% I'm a trained driver, and i know my shit

In 6th gear, the resistance of the engine (also known as engine breaking) would do little as the torque isn't anywhere near sufficient in these little engines (especially with the minimal upgrades he has done). If he were in 3rd gear it would be a different story. I am also a "trained" driver, HPDE 4 and SCCA cert

Vtec is high low lift cam 1 too 2 cams 4 cyl it's not 2 intake 2 exhaust it's done on 1 intake 1 exhaust...3 lobes 2 small 1 big is computer and oil controlled it's has a pin that locks the rocker arms together to run "vtec" the high lift cam profile...I-vtec is same but with a smarter ecu and a vvt to adjust cam timing for best fuel or power it's also used as a egr on k20's and the crv k24...vtec is the shit bc you get the low lift for the dd stuff but high lift to go mess people up

The newer civics are really great looking cars but they're just soooo common. EVERYBODY and their mother has one, you see them around every fucking corner. VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) is a valvetrain system developed by Honda to improve the volumetric efficiency of a four-stroke internal combustion engine. The VTEC system uses two camshaft profiles and electronically selects between the profiles.

A car stops accelerating when the force that the engine is outputting equals the sum of the frictional forces acting against the car's motion. Force=mass*acceleration. So when the sum of the forces equals zero, acceleration equals zero.

@robnarley You obviously know how to get information from the internet.I can respect that, but the truth of the matter is honda makes a great 4 cyclinder car, but the si's need a turbo. They are way too slow compared to any other semi sports car on the market. You could get a new v6 mustang maunual, a used sti or evo, ms3, or even a comfortable family for door that will beat an si stock vs stock everytime. The only thing honda has is reliability.

@argo987 you do realize all of those cars you mentioned cost moe than an si?? evos and sti are in the mid 30s and the ms3 and mustang in upper 20s...you could buy an si and with the money you saved from buying one of those and put it into a civic and out run all of them and still not need a turbo or supercharger

I was also talking about used sti's and evo's. Without a turbo or supercharger a civic is nothing. A intake,exhaust, and tune will not give a si 100 hp

@CemetaryGatesML As of 2011. THe v6 was shit. The new V6 is finally up to par to V6 with other V6 sport cars Eg, 350Z. But The SI is 25k because it has a lot of features a 21k V6 wouldn't have. Plus the fuel Economy when not having VTEC engaged. You can tell me that the V6 now is Fuel Efficient but its still no where IN range of the CIVIC, and if you want the same you have to drive like a senior citizen

The newer civics are really great looking cars but they're just soooo common. EVERYBODY and their mother has one, you see them around every fucking corner. How cool are you if your just another in a long line of the same shit? Don't get me wrong I think they're great (looking) vehicles and are very reliable and probably fun to drive, but they're just so generic now. That is why I chose to buy my RX8 instead of the honda/acura.
