I am not very good with translating songs verbetum, but perhaps someone else from Oltenia who's familiar with the popular slang can attempt such translation. All I know is that the song is about growing old and recounting an old man's successes with women, dating and making love to seven women at a time including other men's wives and boasting about how many of these women lamented his death when he faked it just to see how many women would cry. That's the song in a nutshell.

what I meant to say the song is an old man's recollection of his youth and him lamenting that he's no longer capable of making love to all the beautiful women he once knew. It's a rather lively and outspoken gypsy song about love and sexuality that you could only hear next to gypsy camp fires or on parties, not on official state TV cause this kind of stuff was censored under communism.

@szatmar666 this is not a gipsy song. It is sang in the Romanian and it's a Romanian song from Oltenia. Gypsies have been the traditional party musicians in Romania for hundreds of years, and have contributed to the evolution of the Romanian folkloric music. But the music you would hear in a Gypsy camp fire would have to be sang in the Romany language (Romanyi not Romanian) and would be related to a particular Gypsy tribe and dialect.

Romanian songs have some refrain formulas which get repeated during the song (foaie verde=green leaf; folowed by different vegetal motives - flower names, etc) First lines are: Green leaf of washed tree, I remember and I cry, of how love was during old times, and how now it's not any more in my life; seven gals were loving me, but my oldness has got me, f*** the cross and the law; oh noble apple(an apple variety)
