Hi, when you buy a phone from Chinavasion it is UNLOCKED - this means that it is NOT connected to any service. You need to choose which service you want. They will give you a SIM card. Put this SIM card into your Chinavasion phone and it will work. If you don't know how to get a SIM card, you can buy one from a mobile phone store - this is MUCH cheaper than getting a phone from them too. I hope this helps!
