Some of the movements are for the protagonist, like the sneaking legs and the ending celebration.
Some are for robots that have many legs and movement strategies, and also possibly some are for incomplete broken robots like the little one with one arm that drags itself along the floor.
I'm really liking some of these walking techniques displayed here, especially the one with 3 really long legs, that thing looks great.
I really don't think the DS is powerful enough for this kind of thing, especially when you consider that this is just a walking test demo with debug graphics.
You'd be surprised, actually, it's a lot more powerful than people give credit to it. I've played around with writing homebrew games with it and it's a pretty powerful little sucker. It just doesn't have that much RAM, like 4 megs IIRC.
If it could handle ported 64 games then it shouldn't have a problem with running this.
You must be unfamiliar with the company's last game.
They released n on the computer as a flash based game, then ported it to the DS as n+. They have a DS SDK, so most likely it'll be for the PC and DS. We were discussing the console version, but they very well could make it for the PC as well.
Hey, if you want to be a dick about minor lexical errors, be my guest. I haven't played n+, but I've seen gameplay and it's essentially the same thing.
The drones are different, there are even some new drones, and you can land right in front of a floor guard and still get away from it. The only things that really stayed the same was the ninja. It obviously wasn't ported.

Can't wait to see how robotology is going to end up.

Looks like an incredibly fun game to make, I'd love to be creating different creatures walking rules for a game.
I liked the MC Hammer dance at the end by the way (1:56), just needs some arms pumping an baggy pants.

0:38 This one made me laugh, it's like it's struggling to move, just wants you to put it out of it's misery. You're cruel!!

It's more likely to come out on the DS, judging by how he was picking em up and dragging em. :\

Hello?, talking as if the computer doesn't have a mouse.
jinxedmodder 2 years ago
What's that have to do with anything?
SystelCyrus 2 years ago
It's easier to drag and click with a mouse

No I am not.
N isn't the same as N+. It is similar but is not the same, so N+ isn't just N "ported" to the DS

So I'm a dick for simply just correcting you?
jinxedmodder 2 years ago
Well you didn't really correct me. You pointed out an irrelevant fact. But yeah, yeah you are.
SystelCyrus 2 years ago
Yes I did. You said it N was ported to the DS, and I corrected you saying that it wasn't and you were wrong.
jinxedmodder 2 years ago
No, you didn't.
Now seriously, shut the fuck up.
And yeah, it was ported to the DS. Minor alterations don't mean it's a different game.
This "conversation" is over.

Those aren't just "minor" alterations.

You've never done any programming, have you?
And before you answer, that's a question born of sarcasm.
Seriously. Stop talking about things you don't know about. It's silly.
