People who don't really listen to RHCP don't see that in Flea cause they don't hear enough songs. As for this song I think the intro is bad, but the outro with John was phenominal. I can't see how someone could dislike that outro.

He never was a jazz bassist as i know. sometimes there are some blues riffs, like in "she's only 18", but i never heard some jazz ones. maybe i'm wrong, but i think his roots are rock and funk. additionally to that he had not many bass lessons, he teached the bass mostely himself.

@maniacc0 lies. im sorry, i love flea and rhcp and all, but funk was around a good while before rhcp. james brown basically invented out of soul music in the 1960's. then larry graham invented slap style. then flea just created his own aggressive way of playing. rhcp borrowed from lots of different genres to create a funky energetic sound. thats the facts of it. its harder to find a bigger rhcp fan than me, so i dont want a tyraid of shit for this. its just the facts.
