What about carrying kids? car drivers can legally take 16 kids in a minibus without any test other than their car test* if a public body (like a school) runs a 16 seat minibus they just need the MIDAS (or similar) certificate, NOT a full test, a Charity (including some private schools!) don't even need that, yet a private school that isn't a charity must have full D1 licensed drivers with dCPC! It theoretically could be the same kids on same journey! (* think 97 was last year) its mad!
why dont all us drivers wake up n say we aint doing it! i would rather hang my keys up than pay more money out to keep driving. its a load of rubbish! all its abt is making more money another tax. well get stuffed cuz im hanging my keys up unless sum1 else pays for mine!
@mkumbher1 You should be able to apply for a provisional category D licence, providing you meet the age requirements. Visit the motoring area of the Directgov website and look at the article called 'Applying for a provisional driving licence' in the Driver licensing section. There's a link on this page to an article called 'Vehicles you can drive or ride and minimum ages' which should provide you with further guidance.
Complete waste of time! Drive slowly and save a few quids worth of diesel for a millionaire haulage firm owner or mash the throttle and get home at a decent hour and spend quality time with the wife & kids? I mash the gas daily. Its only been dreamed up by some office based blue sky thinking numpty in order to make money from truckers who don't earn enough to start with.
A certificate of Competence.Very cool. For anyone who thinks this is a cash grab, think again. How many of you drivers keep a safe distance between you and vehicle in front or drive while feeling tired.Did you know you vision is only 5 feet of clear vision for 300 feet od sighted area. Can you guess the distance in length of your truck doing just 55 miles per hour and just 5 miles per hour faster at 60.
@canadiantimberwolf1 We already have that, its called a HGV LICENCE,If you are from Poland you do not have a test for hgvsyou have a agracultural licence, So if you can get a licence to drive a tractor or other farm vehicle in Poland, then that qualifies you to drive a HGV, I live in Ashford Kent where the M20 runs from Dover and there is often incidences of easternbloc lorry drivers running us of the road, and because they are now in the EU can drive anywhere in it, fine over there but not here
@canadiantimberwolf1 look at every car on the road, every car sits up the car in fronts rear end. yeah lorries do it, but u take a look n u will see its very few lorries do it compared to cars. just another tax n its all these "training" and extra stuff that r cripling the country economy
Just another tax on employment Stop The CPC or Get Car Drivers To Pay For The Same Training
