  • Goodbye, Boyd...

  • I saw this in the theaters back then, I remember the music creeping me out a little. You know, this weird Irish sounding music while some guy is being slaughtered as everyone sits around the cooking pot waiting for the arm to cook so they can eat it with their garden picked veggies.

    It was creepy ha

  • My dink has fallen off and needs medical attention.

  • love love this music

  • This is actually a remixed variation of a hymn. My father used to sing it in church. If anyone could tell me the name of it it'd be great.

  • @JoeMississippi1 Ravenous calls it Boyd's Journey. I would like to hear the original hymn.

  • Damn remember watching this movie 7/8 years ago on that cold grey day alone on star ivied channel

  • shit hot

  • HE WAS LICKING ME!!!! Sick man outside!

  • I recorded this song on TV with my stereo and blank cassette tape.

I had this on vhs and kept watching it and playing this over and thinking I wonder if Ill get strength if I ate flesh.

Windigo were tales my grandma told me when I was young.

    Silly teenage thoughts.

  • This movie always makes me want beef stew.

  • @BoneSock Beef? Or Knox?

  • @TonySparks262 FUCKING AWESOME STORY BRO!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant.

  • windigo

  • buen provecho

  • The start of the film is amazing but then near the end it turns to utter shit still a good movie

  • I'm 'Cell Phone Ringtones' :))

  • An incredible cult horror film. An eerie score that provides an ironic contrast to the insanity of the film. The acting is incredible. A brilliantly unfolding story, as seen when my friend said after the first attack of Calhoun/ Ives, "What is even going to happen now.." and then was floored by how masterful its construction was. And an extreme social/political commentary. If I were to liken it to something, it would be closest to the ideals of Conrad's Heart of Darkness, but infinitely better.

  • Ravenous - Friss oder stirb.

  • hands down one of the best movies i've ever seen.

  • Oh and ...

If you die first, I am definitely going to eat you, but the question is, if I die, what are you going to do?

    Bon appétit!!

  • This film gave me the creeps, that cave man, super creepy. The thing that creeped me out so much was that i had seen a documentary about a cannibal people that lived in cliff caves the same week this was on TV.

  • Oh for a Blu-ray

  • This film is tha shit

  • it's believable

  • THE most underrated black comedies of all time. And the top 3 soundtracks of all time.

  • One of my favorite movie, beautiful soundtrack. Carlyle at his best...

  • Just watched it and I love this soundtrack.

  • This movie has the most terrifying music ever. I could just listen to the music without the movie and be scared as hell

  • A great film with excellent acting and a fantastic musical score, especially 'Boyd's Journey' itself, I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • run!

  • Great film made even more so by the soundtrack. Guy Pearce and Robert Carlyle were outstanding. "Live to eat...don't eat to live."

  • definitely one of my favorite 10 movies of all time! Carlyle is superb.

  • If u die first I am diffenately going to eat u !!

  • ah man this is one the best movies I've seen and own. I saw this movie with my mom when I was a kid like 99 in theatres kinda a shocker but I recently saw it again rememberd n liked it picked me up a copy at FRYS for $10 man sorry for the other guy here spendn $40 but either way this movie is worth it boyd and ives both great characters the reluctant hero and ofcourse the vicious man-eater! showed all my friends and same some liked some like WTF? I don't care gota be openminded!

  • cannabilism over happy music

  • i love this music! eerie... and i love robert carlyle in this flick. he was just as evil in "the last enemy."

  • WTF JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA BLACK COMEDY JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA YEA RAVENOUS

  • Budget for this film was 12mill and they grossed in 2 mill with mixed reviews from critics. Honestly, it takes time to appreciate some films maybe even decades when we're stuck with Hollywood shoveling out the shit they're giving us today. I saw Ravenous when I was 9-10 and loved it then, still love it 11 years later.

  • Probably a masterpiece.

  • some friends just called this particular music as some 90 decade game for a console...a plane one but anyway i like...

  • Hmh, would have liked to taste that stew. :-)

  • V sick cockmaster2006 sick... Yea this movie is fuckin tits though. And this song reminds me of Oregon trail for some reason.... Ha

  • best movioe eva

  • esse filmes é muito loko, nossa, quem n viu tem que ve.

  • Great film and brilliant score. Shame the film wasn't as successful as it should have been.

  • This f**king outstanding piece of art stayed with me since I first saw it, 10 years ago. I come back to it from time to time. The most contributing elements to the greatness of this movie is the cooperation of mr Nyman and mr Albarn on the soundtrack. I bought the soundtrack back in the days when people still did, and kept it running while I red the lord of the rings... What an experience... Try it!!!!

  • @Molunius

oh shit, thats a real good suggestion***

there must be a version of lotr at my mum´s

and ravenous always waits to get pressed play :)

once upon a time i lend the film to a rather stupid guy..

his reaction was : "uh, hm, oh, i didn´t understand the film...."

only small and stupid brains can cause sentences like that i guess

    and now....have some stew :)

  • I hate to have to be the one to inform anyone who happens to read this who might have had a contrary impression, BUT, this is the best film that anyone has ever filmed. Now learn from the myths before it's too late for our whole world. Actually y'know what? Never mind. No point now.

  • Watch thi movie 7 8 years ago in star movie love it.

  • wyczesana nutka:) uspokaja

  • kijk dit is gewoon een van de beste films ooit aanrader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • problably the best bloody comedy i've come accrosss. i wish they made more movies like this one. it's not way out there like those popular SCREAM movies. it's just good ole fashioned canibalism in a time of need in the winter time. very realistic yet funnny movie. anyone that loves gory movies should watch this movie.

  • ta muzyka jest niesamowita

  • swetna muzyka kojarzy mi sie z dziecinstwem

  • I have never seen anywone act better than mr. Carlyle in this movie ,it was fantastic

  • awesome movie. awesome creepy score

  • " Have a walnut Boyd ",,,,bloody brilliant,,,,Mr. Carlyle,,,the Scottish cannibal, being from Scotland myself I'm quite partial to the delicate art of eating someone,,,,,,aye, well I'll leave you with that,,,,,,,,,birdie num num !

  • can someone upload Welcome To Fort Spencer, please

  • It took me a while to convince my wife she had to see this movie, but it is one of my favourites and she eventually relented, only to love it :) I just had to come here and listen to the music again!

The performances were superb. I still find myself shouting "Bourbon NOW!" from time to time :D

  • It took me a while to convince my wife she had to see this movie, but it is one of my favourites and she eventually relented, only to love it :)

I just had to come here and listen to the music again!

  • wicked movie. had it on dvd, then had to sell all of my dvd's to help pay for an international move. keep meaning to track it down again.

  • @madphilgreenballs You sold your copy of a movie about antiquated cannibals from an isolated backwater so you could afford to move to the Maori's homeland of New Zealand?

That's like selling your genitals to fund the opening of your very own brothel!

  • @PresidentZod No, no. Sold it to help pay to LEAVE NZ.

  • @madphilgreenballs You need to update your homepage then.

P.S. I was only joking, my Kiwi cousin. The bonds between Oz and NZ are strong.

In fact, I understand that our beloved PM Julia Gillard is on the other side of The Ditch.

Feel free to keep her if you want.

    Please.

  • Funeral song.

  • I'm glad there's lots of other people who agree with me that this was a great movie. I wish more people were exposed to it so they can have the pleasure of seeing it. This movie definitely deserved to win some awards.

  • @ninjajesus81 agree with that this movie is awsome also make me hungry

  • @ninjajesus81 I ordered the movie from a video store after literally years of looking. I paid $40 for the dvd and it was worth every cent. Ive forced all my friends to watch it over the years some liked it others hated it. I loved the music in it but it seems the music is what put most people off. The movie is different and i always like things that are a little different.

  • @archibaldthesimple The music is one thing that makes it stand out. And I don't understand how anyone could dislike it.

  • @ninjajesus81 I know. Things that go against general conventions scare people. How generic would it have been it it was all doom and gloom music.

  • @ninjajesus81 Absolutely. The music alone deserved something. Rotten Tomatoes is usually right, but they were so wrong with this one. 37 percent? Robert Carlyle's performance was amazing: from his desperation in our very first encounter with his character to his transformation to a villain. It was very impressive, yet the critics seem to hate it for what reason? Okay, so David Arquette was in it, but barely, and he was nothing like his type casted part of Stewey or the 1-800-CAL-ATTT guy!

  • @SexPanther235 They didn't like it because of the subject matter. It was a cannibal movie in the late 90's. Critics were prudes back then.

  • @ninjajesus81 yes of course, fickle Hollywood doesnt like giving awards to movies like this.

Lord Of The Rings set a new standard, only because SO many ppl enjoyed, Hollywood HAD to listen, or lose face. Its all a crock really.

  • It is an awesome film and very well crafted, the subject matter however will not likely allow it to have the recognition it deserves. On a very superficial level we are dealing with people gaining power through cannibalism not a message that one wants to promote too much in case some warped idiot thinks they could do just that and acts on it.

  • Just love it ! simply just awesome , haunting muisc only brings me back to this movie , I dare you to hear this claasic and think of some ting ele, classic Damon albarn movie music, I think i'm about 10 shows in n still very happy committing 2hours to this timeless classic, indeed dark !

  • Imagine eating human flesh and this music in the background. wow perfect sound track for a very crazy movie. more like the sound track made the movie disturbing :)

  • BEST MOVIE,BEEEEST SOUNDRACK !!!!!!!!!

  • Thank god I'm not the only one who thinks this is the one of the best movies ever made.I thought I was deranged, but maybe it's just were all a little deranged.

  • I first saw this movie when I was 14. Just for the sense of the scenery and the pre- civil war environment mixed in with the harsh means of survival in a cold wilderness, made it an entertaining movie for me at a young age. But a few years later, with the same perspective, along with seeing the dark, despairing and understanding to human nature, made me respect this movie ten fold. This is a great film. And should be respected.

  • I woke up in the middle of the night when this movie came on....I couldn't stop watching it, I don't really care for gore flicks....but I I like Robert Carlyle, Neil McDonough, and Guy Pearce. But I love the music.....It oddly seemed not to fit...but did fit....

  • I remember catching the movie by the end when this song was beggining my god wat a song it gives u the creeps aint it? Ill watch it just cos of this last song!!

  • That tune really puts the hook in you.

  • Before there was youtube in our world,i often borrowed this film just to hear that amazing music.

    And...i was always eating porc-stew.Damn.

    Nowadays i´ve got the DVD.

This film is so great, it shows the struggle between the instincts and morality/"humanity" quite urgently, always facing death.

Great music, great screenplay, great costumes, great actors, great dialogues.

And a great mixture of torturing horror and enchanting humor!

It reminds me somehow of "Barry Lyndon" by Stanley Kubrick

  • 3 people need to contribute to Ives stew

  • I have yet to eat some kind of steak or stew while listening to this but wow, that sounds like way too much fun for me.I'm gonna maybe see if i can get it this XMas and watch it at my grandmother's house... She makes good stew.

  • Super movie and best music (;

  • this is such a good film and theme, thanks for the upload!

  • Love this soundtrack. Tried to find it earlier but it's gone missing from my flat :(

  • @lonewolfjones google it, i downloaded full album of soundtracks from ravenous few weeks ago ;o

  • @kudesnik1 Thanks. Will do.

  • I heard this song on an AFN public service announcement for ...family support services or something like that.

I was like "WTF," since I hear this, and I associate it with eating people. If you'd never seen the movie, it probably didn't sound inappropriate. Consequently, it probably didn't sound inappropriate to many people.

  • Fuck the oscars and avatar and crappy actors and actresses like megan fox. The reason i'm still watching american movies are films like "Mirage" with Gregory Peck or this masterpiece.

  • BLU RAY NOW!

  • Why, oh WHY didn't someone think to document the recording of this score on video?

  • great movie, I like the music!

  • So simple and so fantastic. Great. Only GREAT.

  • I heard that song now 20 times i must say: PERFECT for this film. THANKS!

  • One of the best films (black humour) and one of the best soundtracks! Great film and actors! Thanks for this black humour film!!!!!

  • Where can I download this song?

  • 3 people don't like the taste of human meat.

  • Damon Albarn from Blur was involved with the score.

  • I'm not sure why I love this movie so much.

  • I own this film and have to say it's my favorite cult classic of all time. I watch it ever winter with a cup of hot chocolate. It's a plus if it's snowing outside. *Winks*

  • This is one of my favourite films ever made. This tune is just so amazing and it's timing within the film was excellent.

  • I can play this whole song with two fingers on my casio keyboard. wooooooh yah!

  • I liked this movie a great deal when I first saw it back in the late 90's. I think I'm overdue for another viewing. And yes, magnificent, haunting soundtrack.

  • He was LICKING ME!!!! LMAO

  • There's nothing I don't enjoy about Ravenous. Especially, wonderful performances by Robert Carlyle and Guy Pearce. And this theme is the cherry on top.

  • I love this music and loved the movie, must go get a copy tomorrow

  • Pearce & Carlyle Best Movie//Albarn & Nyman great OST

  • If eating another person mad us stronger and and healthy would any of you do it??

  • @liquidsnakexxxxxx wouldnt blink an eye, infact pass me one.

  • @liquidsnakexxxxxx definitely

  • i thought the music was totaly unfitting to the film but other than the music it was an ok movie :P

  • one of the best black comedy ever! Pearce and Carlyle are fantastic!

  • the best movie from guy!!

  • @metzger1171 I think he has had a strange career. He did this movie, which unfortunately didn't do well then he bounced back with Memento. And then he did The Time Machine and now he's looking out of place in Bedtime Stories.

I think this is Guy Pearce's best film next to Memento.

  • A masterpiece.

  • run!

  • Loved how the movie ended. A lot of it had to do with the almost malevolent yet generally optimistic mood of this song.

  • This song is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard. The movie was a 9/10 with any other soundtrack, but the sountrack easily bumps it to a 10/10.

  • great score and film but terrible instrument choice

  • i love Guy Pearce.

  • There always has to be a few douchebags that do the thumbs down. I bet it's a few idiots that have nothing better to do, going through every video and giving it a dislike. Either way this music was annoying at first when I was watching the movie but it grew on me. After the end of the movie I couldn't stop playing that song over and over in my head. That's when you know that it was an awesome experience.

  • @StandAloneState Haha, in the beginning of the movie, i hoped it would stop. I tought it was anoying. But at the end i loved this tune i couldnt get it out of my head

  • I wish I could find this song, but I can't...... HE WAS LICKING ME!!!!!

  • @123into4 Same here but unfortunately I was distracted by a.... SICK MAN OUTSIDE!

  • mon film preferé manifique music

  • excellent film and soundtrack BRAVO!!

  • My 3 favourite soundtracks in horror is the music from the House By The Cemetery,Cannibal Holocaust and obviously Ravenous.

  • seriously ratatat montanita vs ghettysburg. this n stuff...

    love it.

  • unique and cool

  • What's the name of the track at the moment they're pursuing Colqhoun in the woods ? I cannot find it here, nor anywhere else. From the moment Reich is manages to get himself killed until Boyd ends his falling course. Thanks.

  • @alineduard

this music you can find it on youtube, if you tape "let's go kill that bastard".

trust me, me too I love it !

Tell me if I make a mistake.

but for now, I have not yet found a way to buy it.

    :)

    Claire

  • @alineduard It's called "Let's Go Kill That Bastard".

  • This song is so melancholy, yet at the same time lifts my spirits in a way. I love it ...

  • Wonderfull music, is stil remember when i saw this movie for the first time, i was only 12 years old but i liked it right away, and now 11 years later i still like the movie verry mutch. a top 100 movie ever!

  • Definitely an overlooked gem of late 90's cinema.

  • anyone know where i can find this song to buy? x

  • Amazing music

  • unlike many slashers this movie is in good taste

  • lovely music

  • really fukin creepy movie FUCK

  • Awesome soundtrack

  • Ultraporn soundtrack.

  • i love this rift so much, i watched the movie for the first time when i was 6, i evn liked it then, the music is so amazing.

  • This film is one of the most overlooked films in cinema history. This score should have not only been nominated but won the academy award. It is the most original I have heard in quite some time.

  • So true. Its good to see there are people out there who "get it" so to speak. It is truly an amazing film that was buried by its inability to define itself to a mainstream audience and critics refusal to give any credence to any film marketed even slightly as 'horror'

  • @bknight23

I see this film as more than a horror film

but actually as a neo-western. And being a

fan of Westerns I truly love this work. I have

this soundtrack on my ipod and listen to it

constantly. "It is not courage to resist me,

Boyd. It is courage to accept me."

  • @fats151 I agree completely. The music is just superbly done. It creates a really unique atmosphere i've never before (or later) experienced in a movie.

  • @fats151

    I agree with you 100%.

I cant belive I only saw this movie a few days ago.

  • will definitely put this music in my stereo, whil eating you for lunch tomorrow...

  • love this song

  • I've heard that it tastes like veal...and when it's raw it tastes like tuna. I'm an environmental aphogist...so whatever

  • @SoadNirv87 aphogist isn't a word

  • I meant "anthropophagy". My mistake.

  • @SoadNirv87 so you're an environmental cannibal? wtf does that mean?

  • I've seen this movie 20+ times, it's the best movie ever, and I've seen a lot of critically acclaimed movies. the portrayal of all these men who've failed in one way or another, out in the middle of nowhere, forced to confront both internal and external demons, in a situation that shifts from dramatic to comedic to horrifying to tragic/emotional, backed by amazing performances, makes this movie the best.

  • @mawhar true that, this film is a classic, acting, plot, soundtrack, consider me obssessed.

  • it is a damned good movie for sure.

  • welcome to life

  • @mawhar

Easy now! lol... I think it's a very under-rated movie too, but "best movie ever" ... easy big fella!! :)

  • @mawhar

Best movie ever? No. It's very good, but it's basically a vampire movie with a veneer over it. The score, however, is something extremely special.

  • @mawhar I am with u. When I saw it the first time it was an experience for itsself. The actors, the acting, the landscape, the music, the mystic part, it all fits so perfect. I can imagine there´s some truth in the storyline...

  • yeah damon albarn !! love you !

  • Thankyou for making so available to me one of my favourite riffs.

    BRILLIANT movie.

Aside from the movie, I must admit that this riff has been going through my head ever since I first heard it..

I'm talking about the loop bit in the first half.

    Thankyou.
