  • Our buddy Russ turned us on to this, along with some Makers Mark and some "Broken Toe" home brew.

God bless him wherever he is.

  • Shows what a great live band they were. Thanks for posting, Bob. ♫

  • I would love to see any more RP clips anyone had to post please. Thanks for this and the others.

  • We like this.

  • Their "Third rail power trip", is the best 80´s album.

  • Check out Beyond the Sunset, recorded live in Japan and just released on CD for the first time in 25 years. You will change your mind.

  • saw in Austin 84, still have a place in the heart

  • the ogwt it seems like yesterday since i saw it how time flys

  • I recall it being mike scott of the waterboys playing acoustice guitar on this...

  • walkerchild...looking for the same "You are my friend, so sad it had to end...."

  • i'm looking for a song by these guys ..' YOU ARE MY FRIEND ' . . . any suggestions ? . . thankyou .

  • i can send you an mp3 if you desire... send me your email

  • Great music by one of the best bands ever. Matt Piucci plays a nice lead guitar here. Dave Gilmour move over ;) Love & peace from Germany

  • Say, Sir, Detroit, from your rival Baltimore in crimiest city in America, I say Rain Parade was great but nobody puts David Gilmour in the corner!

  • Whoa...awesome to find these guys. I worked with Matt at the Montclair Deli in 87. Nice guy.

  • Infinite thanks and praise BobC. It's so awesome reading over all your comments, I wish I could have been alive during these guys'/the paisley's prominence. There's still the music though :)

  • Thank You BobC1965. I missed the Whistle Test set so this is most welcome. Now if you can just get Crashing Dream released on CD, I would be eternally grateful!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this great vid. I was too young to see them (couldn't get into the bar!) when they came. This helps a little knowing what they were like live.

  • It is good. I don't suppose anyone has a recording of 'You Are My Friend', which I think was the 1st time they appeared on TV. If anyone does, please get it on.

  • Great! brings back memories of a good era- green on red, long ryders, Guadalcanal diary, early REM.etc.

  • Awesome -- Who's that 6th guy in back on the left playing acoustic guitar?

  • Lovin it! Esp. cause this album never made it to CD...ahhhh the memories!

  • fantastic - thanks - more paisley!

  • great!thanks!

  • I just uploaded the Paisley Underground feature (including a full 6 minute live version of No Easy Way Down) and Depending On You from the same Whistle Test performance as this clip.

  • I do have that Paisley Underground feature wih No Easy Way Down. Will try to get it loaded up this week.

  • Great! There is a video of "This cant be today" out there somewhere, very Beatley if I remember..?? If I had to keep one recording, it would be EMERGENCY, no hesitation. Can you believe Matt did some of the DNA analysis on the OJ case? What a guitar slinger eh?

  • A wonderfull flashback to a time when anything americana was bad and liking bands like RP or Green on Red or Dream Syndicate meant that you got no girls...when alt.rock or alt.country was just a fragment of a dream of a better future...so much has changed and as Moss once sang "everybodys clever nowadays"...

  • HA the guys then got no girls? I was a (hot) girl peripherally in that scene and I thought all the guys were blowing me off!!!

  • You're absolutely right...I was just being a bitter old man. Anyways, Rain Parade was and still is Fantastic!

  • I think david roback had left by then to form "mazzy star" am i correct?

another outstanding group! rain parade were my fave american band when i was 14

  • Without checking, I think he left by then to form Opal, with Kendra Smith. ...then, later M. Star

  • Thanks for posting The Rain Parade. I taped this action myself all of those years ago but unfortunately lost it.

First time I've seen this clip for years.
