I saw this song on TV about 11 years ago or so (guessing from my age at the time) and loved it. It's recently been driving me crazy that I couldn't remember who sang it. Sometimes I don't know where I'd be without the internet. Probably outside...
Saw him about 10 years ago compere'ing' at the Comedy Store. He ripped the piss out of me all night but I was asking for it really, sitting in the front row with long hair a big heavy metal beard & blue combats! What a tit! (Me, I mean...)
But he was nice enough to introduce himself at the end of the night & apologise, not that I gave a fuck... you look like I did, you get used to people taking the piss!
You mean that Boothby Graffoe wasn't the first person to comment on cigarette warnings? :O
I am quite up on Bill Hick's routines and I know what you are talking about but there is only one comment that is even vaguely similar. Plus I never saw Bill Hicks give us a rendition of "Jeffrey's Song" or comment on his Father's days as a Bus conductor.
And don't hide behind the word "nearly" either. 10 seconds out of 5 and a half minutes is not "nearly line by line".
I interviewed this guy once for a student magazine back in about 1994 and he took the piss out of me for the entire 20 minutes. I've been a huge fan ever since.
